This was my first time visiting this location, and unfortunately, my experience at the front desk was very disappointing. The young man who checked me in spent most of the time looking at his phone and sending voice messages about things that were clearly unrelated to work. His customer service was minimal, and he showed very little courtesy toward patients. While I was waiting, I also witnessed him interrupt an older lady before she could even finish saying her name, abruptly asking for her ID instead. It came across as rude and unprofessional. Fortunately, not everything about my visit was negative. The CT technologist who performed my exam, Forest (like the movie), was outstanding. He was friendly, patient, professional, and very communicative. He explained every step of the procedure, made sure I felt comfortable, and found my vein on the very first attempt, which is usually very difficult. His professionalism and kindness completely changed my experience for the better. The front desk staff creates the first impression of a medical facility, and I hope they receive additional training in customer service and professionalism. On the other hand, Forest deserves recognition for providing exceptional patient care. He is a great asset to this facility. read more

5 stars for the imaging technician. I've been going here for about 10 years for mammograms, since it was Steeplechase. 0 stars is what I give the new company. Since HMI took over, their automated systems and rude personnel will make me seek another venue next year. I self-pay, in full, before the Mammo is done. I have a PAID RECEIPT, in full, for this year's mammogram. Now, I'm being billed for another $31. Robin, in accounting actually told me "I can't go by what you say, I have to talk to the Steeplechase office". Called me a liar basically. When I offered her my paid receipt, on paper, in black and white, she said she could see that. I don't appreciate the insinuation that somehow I've been the one mistaken when HMI is the deceitful party, collecting one amount in full, then billing for more. It makes me remember the other things that are failures with their new systems, like the automated phone 'help', the failure to send timely reports (it took 3 weeks and 3 phone calls and they finally updated my provider after she called), the lack of information in the portal, then multiple notifications of the same results. I'm writing this because Robin promised to call me back after she straightened out my paid receipt. Instead, I just got another email sent with high importance, that I still owe $31. I assure you, I DO NOT OWE THIS. And I will not be back, unfortunately next year. read more

Please don't go here for your imaging. The radiologist Dr. Doe is amazing, but the billing and front desk have been nothing short of a nightmare. I have been over-billed by over $1000 and have surgery in a week, sadly it won't even go towards my deductible because they wrongly listed a family member on my insurance as the patient (despite having all my patient forms). They've been giving me hell for 3 weeks about refunding me despite having claims from my insurance proving I was grossly overcharged, part of me thinks they're dragging it out so I let it go. My physician requested an MRI of my right knee and referred me to Houston Medical Imaging. I called them to make an appointment and I elected to Cambell location. After scheduling this appointment they said will send you an email with your appointment, COVID policies, what to wear & bring with you. I never received this email and even called to make sure this email would be sent, I never received it. While check-in the two (2) women at the front desk never provided any type of greeting, and they were kinda rude. These two (2) women at the front desk were unfriendly, unsociable, and they even rolled their eyes at me. During my MRI procedure, the two (2) MRI technicians were friendly and treated me with respect, thank you. My two (2) issues showing incompetent: 1) Never received their email they claimed that would be sent. Even checked my spam folder. 2) I felt uncomfortable with those women at their front desk. I cannot recommend the staff at the Katy Fwy location enough! I truly would not have been able to get through my MRIs without them. From the minute I walked in, I was greeted by the front desk staff and taken back to my exams promptly. My veins are hard sticks, but the staff members were apologetic and actually got my IV started much faster than any other outpatient place I've been to. I was scheduled for three back-to-back brain exams and had no idea how I would react to being fully inside the machine for the first time ever. Well, I panicked. I had no idea I would feel so claustrophobic and the team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me through it: headphones, music, counting down with me, pulling me out of the machine to take breaks. I was BLOWN AWAY by their care and patience. I got through an hour and rescheduled my remaining 30 mins for the next day. Again, the team was patient, kind, and helped me get through my last exam with my MRI anxiety. Thank you, Houston Medical Imaging Team! They schedule me an appointment today saying be here at 630am. Got to the building it was dark. Filially got in the building at 705 but Houston imaging still closed employee did not arrive until at least 715-720am. Then when I finally got checked in I asked if I could start drinking the contrast which probably the reason I was asked to come in early the front desk kid says you have to wait for the tech!!! This is all wrong your getting $2500 you should be on time and prepared. Very bad experience. Letting my doctor know so he doesn't send me here again. Having patients come in with no one here. And your employees being late is a huge problem for me extremely disrespectful. 11/03/23.... Poor service and patient care. Try another imaging center. I first walked in and gave my info then started to fill out it paperwork. A lady came in behind be and the receptionist told her that she was supposed to be there an hour ago to prep and did she not get her phone call with instructions? She said yes and was told to be there at the time she came in and put that on speaker so everyone could hear. She in fact got her call and wasn't informed that she was supposed to be there easy. The lady asked about how much she would have to pay as she never got that call but was told she would. They told her she didn't owe anything then several minutes later they said her insurance was never verified and she did in fact have to pay $800. They told her the company was recently bought out and there had been changes. I was called back shortly after and told the man I needed to put by stimulator in MRI mode before locking my belongings up. He told me he wanted to show the tech first that it was in that mode and took me to her. Thankfully she asked about what type I have and looked up which machine I needed. Come to find out only that they didn't even have the machine I needed at this location. I have a nerve stimulation device in my back and when scheduling my appointment I gave them the make, model, serial number, and phone number to call to make sure I could be seen at this location. Just to think if I already had put my device in MRI mode before and didn't mention a thing I would've got into the MRI machine that I'm not supposed to be in. I had to get a refund from the $1,000+ payment I just made and had to try and reschedule at another location. I had a Saturday appointment today and did because I can't take anymore time off of work but we couldn't even do that because they said they aren't open on weekends. I'm beyond frustrated by my experience and have been waiting for this appointment and desperately needed to get this done for a chronic condition. They definitely need to train the new call center they have now so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Horrible receptionist. My doctor told me my MRI appointment was that day at 6:30 pm. At 4:24 pm I got 2 text messages from Houston Medical Imaging, neither of them stating the time of my appt. About 4:40 pm I walked in Houston Medical Imaging and told the receptionist that I have a 6:30 pm appt, gave her my name and told her I will go eat and be sure to be back early for my 6:30 pm appt. Karina, the receptionist, said "even though your appt isn't until 6:30 pm, you need to register now before you go eat". She then handed me a tablet. I said I'll be happy to do that, filled out all the information and handed her the tablet. Karina said they will probably get you in before your 6:30 appt. I asked her, "should I stay here and not go eat?" She said no, you can go eat & come back. Then Karina went into a high pressure discussion telling me to go to Corner Bakery to eat. After she held me up for about 10 mins., I thanked her for the information; but told her I was going to the Greek restaurant in the mall, all the food is already cooked and it would be fast. Karina got a rude look on her face. I returned at 6:10 pm. A woman and a young girl came in and sat down. Soon they were called back for their appointment. Later another woman and young girl came in and soon were called in for their appointment. It was then after 7 pm. I went to the receptionist desk and said I have been waiting about an hour, two people came in after me and have gone in. Karina said your appt is 7:30 pm. I said my doctor said my appt is at 6:30 pm and you confirmed my appt for 6:30 pm. Karina said look at your texts, I found a 3rd text had come in at 5:18 pm, after Karina had already confirmed my 6:30 appt and after I had already registered and left to go eat. The woman that actually did my MRI was great to work with and made the procedure very comfortable. read more

This is just a somewhat run down place to get medical images. There is no customer service to speak of. They just point you to some leather couches from the 90's as you wait. It's pretty cold and sterile. That would all be fine except it's a nightmare to actually get your image. They tell you the images will be emailed to you, but they never are. When you complain, you get put in touch with their IT department who calls and says they did send the image. The company blamed me for my email not being able to receive their email. I use gmail, so that's not a good answer. If you enjoy having a huge hassle to get your CT image before your next doctor's visit, this would be a good place to go. With all the competition in the area, there is no reason to get any work from here. Update: to reply to the business, I scoured my gmail to find their email. It is nowhere. In fact, I have discovered that the email they gave me to contact IT just bounced back. I am trying to get the image to give to a different doctor. The incompetence from this group is just staggering. If they spent as much time helping me get my image as replying to my yelp review, I would have my image and there would be no yelp review. Update II: I had to get a different image when I switched doctors and the other place I got sent to had no 170 dollar payment due at time of service. They just took my insurance and I got about two bills for roughly $50 total. RIP-OFF ALERT! read more

Kid checking people in for Ccvid has an attitude AND his nose Is not covered with the mask. When I walked he had his mask completely down. I asked him to cover his nose and he refused. He seemed more Interested in joking with the women at the that work there than doing his job. His disinterest toward patients was insulting. I had such a fantastic experience at Houston Medical Imaging on 9180 Katy FWY. Even my experience with the email/phone confirmations prior to my visit were very informative and helpful. I truly appreciate how they gave instructions in the confirmation email on what to wear/what no to wear, and the recommended time of arrival. I visited both Houston Medical Imaging locations (9230 and 9180 Katy Freeway) on January 25, 2022. Although, both provided great service, the 9180-location proved to be extremely outstanding. When I entered the door, the receptionist was so pleasant, not just with me but with every client that entered the door. She assisted when needed, her demeanor remained positive at all times. I had to find out her name because she is really a GOD sent. I was told that her name is Joey. Please let her know that she has a sweet spirit and to keep up the awesome job that she is doing, because it is noticed. It's not easy working with the general public and remaining positive. I was further made comfortable by Mayra and Fatima during my MRA. This was my second time having a MRA at this location and Fatima remembered my condition and quickly shared with Mayra. I told Fatima that I remembered her and thank you for being so awesome. Both ladies made me so comfortable during my testing. I really appreciate these ladies because although I've had this testing, I was still very nervous. Kudos to ALL these Ladies, and GOD Bless, thank you again for your awesome service. read more

Very slow service. I've been a patient for close to a year and they are always very slow. I had a 2pm appointment it wasn't even acknowledged until 3 pm. Waited forever for the technician for another 40 minutes. My advice is for management to train their staff to check on patients they leave in the exam rooms for 20-30 minutes read more

I asked the front desk clerk by 3:30 if I was scheduled or not. Was told by 3:45 that I still had to wait for another 30 minutes. Never mind that I have a 9 yr old son that is now home alone!! And who cares that we have been waiting for an hour!! Some body dropped the ball and didn't care at all about us wanting waiting. Very poor service for a paying patient. Shaundra got my IV in with one stick for my contrast and Sandra was there the entire time during my super long MRI. The doctor ordered two separate area scans so we had lots of time together. Definitely this place was a nightmare come true since the moment my Dr referred me to get my scan, I made the worst mistake of scheduling the appointment. First of all, a place that's been running for many years in Houston, the sense of sympathy and professionalism is lost. They took 1 month to give me an appointment and they cancelled it one day prior because they just find out that they don't have the medication for it. (Following food restriction protocol, feeling sick daily and asking for time off at my job. Who cares right?) I requested the phone call to be transferred to the manager and she was soooo nice that she started yelling at me because I was asking her for an answer in regards to the lack of organization at the Richmond office. Not enough with that, every single time I was calling to get schedule, every person (apparently well trained by the manager) was extremely rude and raising their voice. When finally, by a miracle of God I got re-scheduled, they verified with my insurance and confirmed that I didn't have to pay anything for the scan. Today I got an invoice from them and when I called, once again I was on hold for 20 minutes, the person that answered didn't introduce herself. She just just told me that the office was closed. So, in conclusion if you want to rush your symptoms to a point of getting heart issues, if you want to feel invaluable, disrespected and treated like everything else but a patient with needs, call this place. Excellent experience from start to finish. Each person that helped me made me feel comfortable, safe, & taken care of. Hardly any waiting before going back for my MRI. I've had many medical procedures & many MRIs, and this was one of the easiest. I especially want to thank Nargis and Sofia who were wonderful. I have several other health problems that make MRIs difficult for me & each of those was accommodated without judgment, or frustration. They were kind, efficient, patient, quick, and made me feel very comfortable emotionally and physically. If I could ask for them for every MRI I would! My doctor was able to read my report & scans clearly (that doesn't happen at every place). The only thing I didn't like was it was a little bit hard to see signs when parking to know where to go. Well, I hate to start out a review this way, but, UNFORTUNATELY, I had to have a slew of medical tests done recently, which led me to Houston Medical Imaging on two separate occasions within the last two weeks. On both occasions, I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, and they were early each time, so I didn't have to wait at all. Went to the facility yesterday for a CT Scan on my sinuses. Met with Shaundra and Maria, both did a wonderful job attending to the entire process. The paperwork was relatively painless (thanks to Maria) and I was able to get a power nap while doing the CT Scan (thanks to Shaundra). Overall, we had some comedy relief throughout the visit. She quickly had me ready to go in for the procedure but also noticed an additional order for a CT scan of my chest and asked if I wanted to get that done today also. Of course I did so while I was in UT scan she contacted insurance company and got approval for the CT also. By the time I was out of one I went straight into the other.
