So, I originally wrote this review almost four months ago. Julie LaCroix saw the review and…read moreresponded to it. However, did she do anything to make sure she answered the main element of the complaint (that she won't stop spamming me in spite of numerous requests over the years - including those apparently only decorative "unsubscribe" links in her emails?). No. Screen shot for proof. Draw what conclusions you will. Original Review and Comment on Response: I had two appointments with Julie LaCroix several years ago. I ultimately thought the sessions were a waste of time and (quite a lot of) money. She decided my skill set made me a particularly good fit for a specific type of job, and she disregarded my repeated protests that the job in question went against my moral values. She made up her mind and was incapable of hearing anything that didn't align with her first (somewhat arbitrary seeming) idea. She ended our last session by throwing together a ridiculous, typo-ridden resume in a couple minutes targeted at a position I had made clear I would not apply for. (Since that time I finished my graduate degree and am working in a suitable career.) After our second meeting, I was ready to move on and not give career therapists another thought. I have not had that luxury, however, since Julie LaCroix has spammed me and stalked me on social media ever since. Every couple years, I get re-added to her email list which I have never given her permission to put me on, and she has not responded to messages asking her to desist. She also periodically tries to connect with me on social media (she is undeterred by my refusal to connect with her, and, again, does not respond to messages asking her to desist in contacting me). I understand that she thinks networking will help grow her business. I don't understand why she thinks harassing people and ignoring them when they object would be beneficial to anyone. Given her systematic abuse of my personal information, however, I am no longer surprised that she could not process my objection to an unethical career. **Regarding Response** Notice the non-denial regarding the abusive email practices I describe. Also note the absence of a statement that she would address this matter and make sure I am not re-added to her list again in the future. The rest is a matter of he-said-she-said, but why, after 11 years, would I have reason to think of her--much less make random false claims in a review? I would encourage her to check her email (julie@julielacroix.com) to see that I have, in fact, contacted her multiple time over the past 11 years to ask that she stop re-adding me to her spam list. She has also found me years after using her (dis)services and tried to get me to engage with her professional profiles on Facebook and Instagram over the years. The dishonesty/lack of integrity in her response here is appalling.

I didn't know where to start, but I noticed that so many of Teresa's reviews had REAL results, like folks actually landing a new career after their time with her. Thankfully, I'm happy to report the same -- and wouldn't be able to say that without her. The Career Clarity Course is a great way to get your wheels turning on possible career changes, and it offers tons of great questions and quizzes to help open your mind to career paths you wouldn't have before. And when combined with in-person sessions with Teresa, it's an incredibly helpful set of tools, since she provides a ton of great, real-time feedback and support that's flexible to your situation. Basically, if you're on the fence like I was, just make the smart move and invest in Teresa's course. You definitely won't regret it!

Hi Juliet- I just…read morewanted to thank you again for all your hard work, understanding, and helpful advice that you have blessed me with during our time working together. I landed a position with one of the city government roles I was targeting here in Orange county! This role has been a great fit for me, and I enjoy and respect the other people I work with, and the people in the community that we serve. I had several offers after our work together and ultimately decided this one was the best fit for me. The work you did with my personality profile, career goals, and resume was extremely helpful and definitely had a lot to do with the number of offers I received. I also performed very well in my interviews not just because of my experience in this field but also because of practicing the questions and hypotheticals we went over together. You are a master of your craft and I will not hesitate to mention you if I have any other contacts who are looking for resume and or career coach professionals with your skill set. Thank you again for everything!

Juliet was incredibly helpful, working with me each week to ensure my resume, LinkedIn profile, and cover letters were in top shape. She even pointed out things I hadn't considered including on my resume that turned out to be valuable. When it came to interviews, Juliet walked me through the most common questions, offering constructive critiques on what I should and shouldn't say for each one. Her advice was super informative and helped me feel far more confident than before heading into interviews. I really appreciated how she pushed me out of my comfort zone, and noticed how her help made me stand out more to employers. Many of them even complimented how well-written my resume was! I'm super happy to say that I accepted my first job out of college a couple of months ago, and can't thank Juliet enough for her guidance and great advice!

I'd like to share my experience so that you can make a more educated choice when it comes to your therapy. I saw Joe Dallas for a few weeks about an issue that had weighed heavily on me for years. Because of this issue, I was struggling with severe depression and anxiety. I was in a really dark place and I desperately needed help. I met with Joe Dallas once a week for maybe three months and during our sessions Joe would answer phone calls while I was sitting there. I couldn't believe it. He would say excuse me, then walk over to the phone on his desk and answer the phone during a paid session. He would also end sessions early and start our sessions after our scheduled time. During our sessions I never felt like Joe was engaged in what I was saying. I would be talking and I could just see his eyes glaze over. I would finish a sentence and there would just be this long awkward silence. We talked about my family history for several weeks and when I felt like we weren't making any progress I asked him if our sessions were ever going to move past family history. He said we would start talking more about solutions (changes in behavior etc) the following week. I showed up to his office for our regular meeting time and his office was locked. I knocked several times. I waited for almost an hour to see if he would show up. He never showed up. I figured he probably just forgot about the session. I called his office to reschedule but I got an answering machine. I left a message but I never received a call back. I showed up the next week during our regular time and his office was locked again! I called again and I was very nice. I told him that I was worried about him because this was the second week he missed our appointment. I told him if he needed to move our appointment times, I could do that. I asked him to just call and let me know he was okay. I never heard back. The next week I showed up at our regular time and the door was locked again. For some reason, Joe Dallas just stopped showing up to our appointments. No call. No email. Nothing. He just quit coming. I've always wondered all these years why he just quit. As someone who was overwhelmed (at the time) with what people thought about him, this was devastating for me. For years I assumed he quit showing up because of something I did or said. I swore off therapy for years after this (therapy that I really needed) because I felt like I had wasted a lot of money (money that I didn't have) on this experience. I was also terrified that I had said something to make Joe Dallas stop coming to our appointments and I didn't want to repeat whatever mistake I had apparently made. Years later, the depression got so bad I decided to give therapy another chance. I went to Applied Biblical Counseling. I'm so glad I gave therapy another chance because their counseling center was incredible. I threw away all of Joe Dallas' books. Whenever I read a church article and Joe Dallas' name comes up--I stop reading it immediately. I don't give any weight to what he says or thinks anymore. If you're thinking about seeing Joe Dallas, please reconsider. Contact Applied Biblical Counseling instead. I stayed there for almost 4 years and my life had changed drastically for the better. They also helped me get over my terrible Joe Dallas experience. If you're looking for reading material, I would recommend "Washed and Waiting" by Wesley Hill or anything by Patrick Carnes. I found this material much more helpful.
