The empty fountain and rocked road area where kids couldn't ride their bikes.
    Christine O.

Pull in somewhere else.... I will start with the positives, because I feel like it is fair. It was easy to find. Easy sites to pull into. The surrounding landscape is gorgeous. Now, for the not so positives. When you pull up the website for this place, it makes you believe you will be arriving at a beautiful oasis, with the sound of a tranquil three tiered fountain lulling you to sleep. Well..... the pictures from the website are no where near what you actually get when you arrive. Most the spots do not have any shade at all and it appears that the tranquil fountain has been empty for quite some time. Check out out my pictures and judge for yourself. Besides the disappointment of not arriving at a beautiful oasis, there are some other issues that must be addressed. First, there are no picnic tables. I don't know about you, but part of the camping experience is sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air and playing games outside. Unless you have a table of your own, you will be confined to do these activities inside. Second, the camp hosts do not make you feel welcomed. When I arrived I felt like I was an unwanted guest that arrived without notice. It started my trip out feeling like I had done something wrong before I even was set up. Finally, it is NOT kid friendly. When we checked the website, it did NOT say it was a 55 or older place. I would suggest that if this is the clientele they want, it should be made very clear. We would not have stayed there had we known they didn't want us there. The reason I know they didn't want us there was because they very rudely scolded the kids for riding their bikes in the wrong places and scowled at them constantly. I am a rule follower, so if there are rules, post them and if small children are breaking these rules have grace and patience with them as sometimes children need a few reminders to do things the correct way. Unfortunately the only time the camp host spoke to us directly, was in a heated debate telling us to pack up the bikes. This could have been handled so much differently, with kindness perhaps. If our kids were not riding in areas you did not want them to ride, speak to us, the parents, and give us the opportunity to discuss it with them. So, when you are in town, I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere. For this campground, I would recommend training in customer service, as well as a complete revamp of your website to give accurate descriptions of your expectations and the appearance of the facility.

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the past few years. The first time we only stopped for just one night and enjoyed the peace and quietness of the park and ended up staying four nights. Many parks claim to be Big Rig Friend but Solstice actually is. With a 45 foot motorhome with a tow car I was easily able to maneuver around and go to my large space and didn't even have to disconnect. With large level spaces, with many cable channels, free WiFi, good power, and wonderful views high above the Mesquite City lights and mountain range all around it's a nice park to stay at. In addition Solstice Motorcoach has a wonderful staff that always has been extremely friendly and very courteous. Have a Blessed Day !!!

If you were expecting a dessert oasis because that's what the website portrayed, you've been had. Is a flat plot of dirt and gravel. The manager was rude. When we arrived, not so much as a "Hello! How was your drive?" We were met with "How old is your trailer? You're pushing it" (there is a 14 year old trailer max, mine is 13) There is no water, the pool on the website is "soon to be added", and in the driest state in the nation...you aren't allowed to set up a shade gazebo. This place is not family friendly; we would not recommend and will not be staying here again.

Don't stay here. Worse place in Nevada. They offer you the world and the property mgr doesn't follow through.

The property is very well-maintained, the restaurants are a delight, and the pool area is excellent--I loved being able to order drinks right from my lounge chair. My only real complaint was the check-in process; my room wasn't ready until two hours after the official check-in time. It was a bit of an inconvenience after a long day of meetings, but the staff was friendly, and I was able to pass the time using the gym. I also bought a day pass for the spa, which turned out to be pretty underwhelming. Aside from a private pool and steam room, it doesn't offer much unless you're booking an actual treatment. A private spa jacuzzi would have been a huge plus, especially since the main resort jacuzzi was constantly crowded. Unless you are getting a specific service, I would skip the spa pass. Overall, despite the check-in delay, it was a great stay and I would definitely return.

Once we checked out, they billed us for the massage service and the tee time. Then were told that they take care of the room cost. It ended up being around $60 more which we didn't mind, just confused why this wasn't communicated or promoted correctly. Next, the room was extremely hot even when running the a/c unit at 60 degrees. The unit you can tell is very old. Lastly, the service at almost every restaurant was unwelcoming and rude. Waited over an hour for our food at Jersey Joe's with a server who was overwhelmed and had attitude. Similar experiences at Einstein Bagel's and Rita's and Fajitas. The casino staff were nice! Valet also was welcoming. Overall, there seems to be a ton of disorganization with new ownership and the staff doesn't seem to be informed. To top it all off, they definitely aren't welcoming or hospitable. I'd avoid booking a stay here.

This time, I decided to stay at Mesquite, NV which is about 40 miles south of St. George or about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. Hotwire led me here as I like surprise:XD Upon walking in the lobby, my first impression was...is this the retirement home!? the interior has that old fashioned style, wide hallway with tiles instead carpet on the first floor, a library...etc I got suite #210, which is exactly like a one bedroom apartment with full sized kitchen, dining table, living room, bed room, walking in closet and a full sized bath. It's spacious! I assume this property was designed for assistant living and later changed to a hotel. It's freaking hot in Mesquite, NV even after the sun goes down. The air was still hot like inside the oven. The ac worked really well and of course this place is very quiet. The next morning, after checking out, I was on the way heading home. While pulling onto the 15 freeway I all the sudden remembered I left my charging cable in the room! Drove back from the next freeway exit, I told the front desk lady and she immediately made me a key to go up to the room to retrieve my cable. When I got there, the housekeeper was already outside and handed me my cable. If you are not looking for anything fancy, modern and elaborate, this is a good place! For clean, classic and awesome rate, I can see myself coming back for another good night sleep:) P.s there's no charging port on the bedside table, I had to unplug the alarm clock and that's how I forgot my cable :XD

I know nothing about Mesquite, but my best friend's grandparents live here. I'm going to be completely honest and straightforward here, I liked Eureka MUCH better than Casablanca, where we stopped at heading towards Utah. Compared to Casablanca, Eureka looks a lot newer and they have a lot more options and stuff to do. I had read after our trip that Eureka had gone under renovations about two years ago and they plan to build more retail stuff around it in the future. They have endless slot machines inside and they have a pretty big sportsbook, although I've seen bigger before. I did consider playing one of the slot machines since I had cash on me, but I didn't go for it. Being a Vegas local that has been inside so many casinos, I don't gamble or play slot machines all that much. Going forward, if we ever take another road trip to Utah, Eureka will be our permanent stop.

I came across Grand Destination Vacation Club at the San Mateo County Fair in May 2025. They were advertising a "free" 4-day, 3-night trip to Hawaii, including flights, hotel, and a luau. It sounded like a great deal at the time, so I signed up and even paid a $100 deposit. Fast forward over a year later I still haven't received the voucher. On top of that, the terms are incredibly restrictive. They require you to travel Monday to Monday, which means I'd have to pay out of pocket for extra days just to make the trip worthwhile, if I ever even get the voucher. The whole experience felt misleading from the start. They require you to sit through a long timeshare-style sales presentation over Teams, followed by breakout rooms where multiple representatives pressure you into buying their membership. When I said no, they became visibly annoyed and kept sending different people to try to convince me. Their packages go up to $30,000, and honestly, I can easily book my own flights and hotels for far less without worrying about hidden fees or restrictions. What's most concerning is the lack of transparency. There's no clear website, email, or phone number unless you're already a member, which feels like a huge red flag. Overall, this felt like a bait-and-switch situation. I would strongly recommend staying away.
