One of our favorite places in Panama City Beach. Wonderful seafood, great service and beautiful view.

Our first time. It is a ways out there from Panama City, but it was good! We sat inside but had a clear water view. Our waitress was friendly and service / food timing was fast (Thursday night late April) We also got the spicy gumbo as an app and it was very good- I hate I didn't get a picture but it was not spicy in our opinion. Meals were decent, nothing to overly rave about! The fried shrimp were cooked good and the fish was as well but it's definitely a softer fish. read more

I was looking for a best in class seafood place in PCB and found this on the interwebs... Yelp being out of commission at the time. It was well recommended (2 of 10 best) and about 5 miles, so headed over. It is definitely not on the main drag. If you don't intend to be there you wouldn't ever stumble across it. And. It is a magical place. From the parking lot through to the back rooms. Parking lot sprawls under massive live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. The rambling buildings are such a throw back to real people and real places and old Florida that I wanted to cheer. We got there about 6:30 on a Saturday night and had a 45 minute wait made delightful for the rooms full of really nice gift items, t-shirts and clothing, all very reasonably priced. Then the waiting area goes out to the docks and you can get a cocktail (cash only) while you wait for your table. Seriously best margarita I have ever had - all home made and fresh squeezed. We were seated at a table looking out over the water and under the bridge. All the tables are a mishmash of comfy styles - all very down home and cheerful. The service is great. The food was excellent. We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp, then had either the Grecian Grouper or a plate of fried oysters and scallops. Delicious. And I hate hush puppies but gobbled theirs up! Crispy and light as air. We loved Boon Docks and look forward to coming back with more friends. Thank you!! read more

Have been here quite a few times but this trip was outstanding We sat at bar to reduce the wait time which is always long. The view is great during your long wait. Had the fried catfish which was breaded perfectly and served hot. Cole slaw was delicious. Had fried pickles which were also perfectly cooked. Gumbo was good needed a bit more spice and a few more "goodies" except the very small popcorn shrimp and okra, no andoulle sausage but did have white rice added in. The deep fried crab claws were very good as was the bacon wrapped shrimp! Fries good, fried okra plentiful and good, all in all good food although I found the old wood chairs uncomfortable. read more

My family loves the Boondocks and they had to take me, my wife, and stepson for the first time. First of all, very scenic with the pier out back looking at the bay. Second, this is for the fellow non-seafood eaters like me. The chicken tenders might be the best I have ever had from a seafood restaurant. They are fresh and have a cornmeal type breading. I chose cream corn and slaw as my sides. Cream corn was good but the slaw was on the dry side. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. They make their ranch in-house and we couldn't get enough of it with the pickles. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! Try Boondocks for seafood and non-seafood eaters. read more

AMAZING! We stopped here on the way from the airport (after flight from California) as it was the closest restaurant, and were blown away! Ambiance wise, it felt like an old fishing village restaurant (which it was probably in a previous life). We were greeted by a fun lady, and escorted to the dining area in a different building. First we got some Adult Beverages! My wife had, what she exclaimed was, THE BEST (Top Shelf) Margarita she's ever had, and I had one of their EXCELLENT Mule's. On to the dinner: she had grilled Grouper and grilled Shrimp ... it was probably THE best seafood dinner either of us had ever tasted. My grilled Redfish was amazing, and the Cheese Grits were creamy and VERY tasty. If you haven't guessed by now, we liked it! read more

Interesting place that came highly recommended from a local expert. Inland and on the water, I would have never found the place by myself. Went open minded and hungry. Had about a 30 minute wait to be seated by the water, but well worth it. Wifey ordered a side salad and the special "Tile Fish" with Cole slaw and green beans. Fish portion was huge and beautifully prepared with lemon and Greek spices. Fish was light and flakey, and pleasant to the eye. We had never heard of this species so we googled it when we got home and became alarmed when we learned of the well known mercury toxicity problem. Very surprised this was on the menu and being promoted as a special. I had a cup of gumbo to start and the 1/2 and 1/2 as a main course. Half shrimp and half bay scallops prepared with blacken spices on a bed of fried green peppers and onions. I had Cole slaw and onion rings as sides. Shrimp were on the small size and scallops were tiny. Flavor was very good. Real concerns with the Tile Fish special. It was very expensive and actually has FDA warnings against pregnant females consuming. That's a big deal. My trust has been broken. I cannot recommend this business. read more

My wife and I were near the airport at Panama City Beach airport and saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. It was pouring rain and it would have been awesome if it is was not, because they are right on the water. We entered and sat on the enclosed porch where we could see some birds perched upon the docks, including a large pelican. I ordered a Cigar City Mango IPA, which was wonderful and our super nice server took our order for a grilled grouper Po' Boy and a side salad. I ordered all the fixings for the sandwich and green beans instead of fries. The sandwich was stuffed full of wonderful fish and a great bun and the two hush puppies were delectable. The green beans were amazing! Not sure what they did to them, but they were wonderful. The side salad had great red onions and super fresh, a real winner! I had one more IPA and it was a great lunch after a long morning of flying. read more

We drove 30 minutes to eat here--only because their website clearly says they seat guests until 8:30 PM. We walked in at 8:10, only to be told they weren't seating anyone else for the night. If you're going to post hours online, honor them. Otherwise, update your site or put a sign on the door. We made a special trip, planned our evening around it, and were completely dismissed without a second thought. Extremely unprofessional and incredibly disappointing.
