While my washer was being replaced, the installers brought to my attention that the previous owner had attempted an after market modification on my dryer that was unsuccessful. They had attempted to side vent the dryer to fit into the space but they did not properly seal the vent. The installers removed the rear venting panel and one could clearly see the exhaust pipe was not connected to the dryer...and the exhaust pipe was just hanging loose. The only way to do it properly was to take the dryer apart, connect the exhaust pipe and seal it all. The installers advised they could not do this type of work and it required a tech. I was referred to Solution Appliance and very happy that I was. The tech who attended was Stan, and he was professional and clearly had the KSAs to get the job done. He requested to first come view the dryer to confirm the issue. He attended and advised he had to take the dryer apart but that it was an easy fix and he would return later that evening to complete the job. Stan did return and did a great job in connecting and sealing the exhaust to the dryer. It was a very positive appliance servicing experience and happy to recommend Solution Appliance. read more

I called Solutions Appliances and the friendly receptionist called me back and scheduled me in for the afternoon. Technician (Jason) was on time and efficient. My washer was back in business in under 30 minutes and the cost came out under what I was quoted by another company. Jason was no nonsense. I especially appreciated that he made no fuss while I was in a call for work and was quite resourceful with what was available (had to use one of the bath towels hanging nearby to mop up the water). All in all I am so glad I went with Solutions instead of the other company (see other review) that I had such a bad experience with the day before. read more

I needed both my stove and fridge looked it - Jason was on time, professional and most importantly, knowledgeable. The stove was fixed in under thirty minutes at a very fair price and the fridge was diagnosed a dud with photographic evidence to go with it. Jason also took the time to measure the area that the fridge occupied for when I would have to replace it. Payment was very easy as Jason is equipped with a mobile payment system. "Tech: J. Smith" came out to look at our washer / dryer. Told my wife it was completely acceptable that the clothes came out of the dryer (on extra dry setting) as it is "high efficiency." J then proceeded to lecture her on how the washing is to be done. A complete condescending, smart ass jerk to deal with. Called in to the office to register a complaint, they rebuffed saying he's been their service guy for 15 years and "is... um also the owner" Riiiiiight. - Pick anyone else. read more

Spring on Fridge flapper broke. Appointment 1: They missed appointment 1 without notice. Appointment 2: They didn't bring the right parts despite receiving the model number. Appointment 3: They replaced the spring but now a wire is broken which makes the fridge beep 20 times whenever opened (it's indicating the service issue via beeps) AND the water dispenser drips (never has before this 'fix'). Total charge for wasting a month of my time and breaking my fridge 500$ They also told my mother in law that the beeps were not a problem (she speaks English as a second language and was home during the appointment as a favor). So you can add 'tried to lie to someone because they don't speak English fluently' to the list of great stuff these guys are capable of. Avoid at all costs. read more

My twenty year old Magic Chef gas oven stopped working and all appliance repair companies I called had a two week wait. I asked my friend if she had an appliance repair technician to recommend and she referred me to Solution Appliance Repair. I left a message on Saturday afternoon when they were closed and first thing Monday at 9:03am, I had a call from their office to arrange a service call for the next day. The oven was fixed for a very reasonable price. Really easy company to do business with, arrived on time, great service. Now I owe my friend a glass of wine! Their technician was prompt, courteous, very experienced and knowledgable, and went above and beyond to resolve the problem over three visits - only charging us the callout fee for the first visit, charging only for the part on the second visit, and replacing it for free on the third. Jason no-showed on me last year after scheduling an appointment with him to fix my washer. I missed twice the time off work - three times in fact, because when he did show up it was over an hour outside of the time window that was set and it turns out I easily could have stayed at work to finish my shift after all. He seems to have zero respect for his clients' time. I made the mistake of giving Solution Appliance another go this year - big mistake. He called to confirm our scheduled time earlier in the day but then didn't show up when the time came. After the fact over the phone his excuse was that my residence was too difficult to get to (on a major street in New West - a 10 minute drive from his business address!). I would highly recommend not giving this guy your business. My guess is that he is intentionally scheduling too many appointments in a day and picking and choosing as he goes based on what job is going to pay him more. So if you've got a job that's going to cost a lot maybe you'll have better luck. Completely unprofessional and I'm not going to be wasting any more of my time with Solution Appliance. I was referred to Solution Appliances by another service agency I've used in the past, but who wasn't able to help with my emergency. I left a voicemail early this morning & my call was returned shortly after they opened for the day. I explained my situation, they contacted Jason & called me back to say he'd be here this afternoon. Jason was incredibly professional & friendly, while he gave me good tips for my new washing machine. After installing it, he checked to make sure it ran well. I was up & running in about 40 minutes. Found them on the BBB site as a newer business, so was a little scared than finding someone on Craigslist. They came on the scheduled day - in fact, the tech came early! He hooked up my gas stove and waterline for my new fridge well within the quoted price ($75 service fee + $15 for every 15 mins). Worked out to be less than $150 inc tax for the two jobs!! I have had Jason from Solution Appliance Repair at my home three times and have just booked a fourth visit. The first was to fix a non-working burner on my Ultraline stove. The second was to fix a dishwasher; one of the spray arms had stopped rotating. Jason recommended that I replace the dishwasher since it was 12 years old and further (more expensive) repairs were probably ahead. I followed his advice and he returned about a week later to install a Miele that I bought during a semi-annual sale. I am completely happy with the service I received on each occasion. Horrible experience with this company!! First repair guy came in and did not fix the issue at hand. Contacted Jason's wife of the issue and was informed that repair guy was on vacation. She informed me that she would hold off on the bill until Jason came to view it. Jason arrived and fixed the issue, but due to lack of tact/ mannerism he accused me of not wanting to pay him previously. I really wish I could give zero stars for this review. ********Key descriptive words of my experience with Solution Appliance Service: RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, CONDESCENDING, SEXIST. (didn't even fix my oven)************ It really is a shame that "professional" business men still behave incredibly sexist with female customers. My experience with Solution Appliance Service was exactly that. JASON, was one of the least helpful, most condescending, rude repairmen I have ever encountered. Let me back up and share my whole experience with this company. In November of LAST YEAR (2016), I called this company on the advice of my landlord to have my oven repaired. It was nearly December and I wanted to start my Christmas baking, but my oven would not retain heat. After many unreturned calls to the office, Gale called and scheduled an appointment with Stan. Stan showed up, did some tests, and let me know he would "order parts" to solve my oven issues. In lieu of being able to fix it right in that moment, Stan kindly left me a little thermometer so I could keep tabs on what temperature my oven was really at (digital display was not accurate). SIX MONTHS later, after again many unreturned calls to the office about my "parts", I tried one more time to contact these people. Gale listened to my dilemma, and immediately denied that anyone from this company had ever been to my apartment, and they most certainly NEVER would have left me a thermometer. So, despite her rude and incorrect treatment, I attempted to book another appointment. She booked me with Jason. 15 minutes after our call, she called me back to let me know that they HAD been to my house before.... After weeks of being rescheduled by Gale at the Solution Appliance Service office, I finally secured an appointment for today (July 6, 2017, EIGHT months now, if you're keeping track). Jason was to be at my apartment between 9AM - 10AM. At 10:19AM, Jason called to inform me that he was running behind because he left a necessary tool at another clients house. To "speed up the process", he asked that I turn my oven on, that way when he arrived it would be up to temperature. Fine, no problem. He arrived at 10:52AM (I'm referring to my cellphone call log and when he buzzed into my house) and got straight to "work". He did his "test" with an electronic meter, and claimed my oven was working perfect. I attempted to explain exactly the issues I had been experiencing and that it may be an intermittent problem. Most importantly, its hasn't been functioning, and I would really love to have a working oven. Jason got more frustrated with each time I spoke, and preceded to talk down to me in the most condescending tones. He said "See my electronic meter reads the right temperature. You are wrong. You just don't know.". He attempted explaining the science behind the oven, and how the thermometer left by his colleague may not read correctly all the time. Thats all fine, but I expressed how he could leave, and when my oven acted up again, I would call another company. I told him that I appreciated his time today, but that I had been screwed around by this company too much and he could leave my home. He then told me that I was "rude and beyond incorrect". Taking my name down, Jason remained in my house, silent, not leaving, staring at my oven. He went on to explain how "when you open an oven, you feel heat. That means, that the heat is coming out of the oven. So, you can assume, the temperature is dropping.". Condescending beyond belief. I once again prompted him to leave, which started him on yet another condescending lecture. He even went as far as to tell me he is tired of coming to my building to deal with tenants who "just don't know how to work an oven", and that he believed I was wasting his time and trying to spend hundreds of my landlord's money unnecessarily. He also had the audacity to reach into my oven and take the small thermometer left by his colleague. He then said, "These are only a couple of dollars at the Dollar Store. Since this is company property, I will be taking it. If you want one, go buy one.". Yes, he took a thermometer worth only a "couple dollars". After what felt like WAY too long, Jason left my apartment. He left me both shaken by such a sexist and uncomfortable situation, and upset that anyone coming to do a paid service would behave in such an unprofessional manor. This company has been the bane of my cooking existence since last year. They are unprofessional, rude, unwilling to take responsibility for their own actions and employees, and have provided me one of the most sexist experiences of my 2017. I called Solution Appliance Repair when my dishwasher wouldn't drain, and was given a window for Jason to arrive the following day, which I thought was very quick. Jason arrived on time with everything he needed to check out the dishwasher, and in the end it turned out that there was a bit of plastic blocking the pump and it just needed to be cleaned out. The owner of this company was seen to repeatedly drive his vehicle recklessly in a 30 km an hour roadway with children. I witnessed him run a stop sign then scream abuse at a woman who was walking in front of his truck who totally had the right of way. First, he yelled he couldn't see her because of the design of his van, then when she pointed out he had a stop sign on his side of the street, where she didn't, and that he clearly wasn't looking right, which he should have been, he started screaming abuse at her. I will make sure to remember the name of the company and never use them for home or business. The guy clearly has an anger management problem and I would fear his reaction if I was to hire him, then voiced any displeasure at his work. I can see from other reviews he has a bad reputation for being arrogant and verbally abusive, as well as unreliable. I hope he reads this and knows that when you drive around with the name of your company on your van, everything you do is a reflection of your business, and that goes for your driving habits and road rage. PS Edit, neighbour saw him park in a residential permit parking only spot, meaning she was unable to pull up with her baby to bring her into the house. The first time I called this place they showed up on time and were efficient and polite. They did an excellent job on my stove and dishwasher and I think they charged a reasonable price. He had to come back because he didn't have a part and again on time and really nice to talk to. I called them again when my dryer stopped working because of my first experience was so awesome. He came in and was able to fix my dryer in probably half an hr. He also told my husband what to watch for so it doesn't happen again. The service was awesome and the price was reasonable. If it were an option to give 0 or negative stars I would do that. I was referred to Solution because another company couldn't come. Jason charged me $115 to come to my house and look at my fridge (literally open and close the doors once). He said he had the part I needed and could get it the next day. Unfortunately, though, he was not available for a week and a bit so I booked him to come back then. When it came time for him to come back, he called on his way to my house. He had no idea why he was coming and asked me if I had ordered the part I needed. I reminded him that he had ordered it. At that point he told me that he didn't have it and that it was on back order. He didn't seem to care at all that I had missed two afternoons of work to meet him about this with zero progress. His lack of interest or concern was really surprising. In the end, I ordered the part off the internet and fixed it myself with a YouTube video. Don't waste your money on this company. You can find better. read more
