I have arranged for Shane to come and help fix my Fisher & Paykel fridge based on the reviews here. I have informed him of the F2 error which I've informed him as defrost error. Customer support: Shane was very accommodating in terms of scheduling/ changing appointment. He also called back really promptly. Services: Shane was unable to resolve the problem for me. He pulled the fridge out and looked at the back where the compressor was, checked the resistance, and said I needed a new fridge. He also said it could be computer board error and would be very pricey and may cost as much as a new fridge. I wasn't convinced as my fridge is relatively new (5 years) and on the market now is still around $3000. I sought a 2nd opinion with another company (that was recommended by a hardware store that said that other company services Fisher & Paykel appliances). The other repair company came and fixed it within 30 minutes (they knew exactly what was wrong based on the error code; it was simply the defrosting element that malfunctioned.. hence defrost error, my fridge has no more error since the element was replaced). Cost: He offered one of the most competitive call-out rate. He charged me for the call out rate and didn't charge me for labour since he couldn't resolve my issue. Overall, I appreciated the customer service and the courtesy of not having charged labour. But I did have to call for another company and according to them was a simple fix hence the lower rating. read more

I searched at different repair places and most came in higher that would be why wouldn't I just buy a new appliance, but Shane from aspen appliance did a great job fixing our front load washer. He had mentioned also he used to be the service person for Samsung which ensured to me I made the right choice for my repair. I highly recommend him! I went on to yelp to find someone to help me with my new to me washer. I came across this profile for Aspen; truth be told, the owner was cute, so I thought I'd reach out to him...40 days in isolation folks; give me a break! ‍ Shane sent me a message less than 8 hrs after messaging him about a washer I bought 2nd hand and was having issues with on the first day. Shane essentially helped me determine over the phone that the washer I had bought was a complete piece of trash; my words, not his! Aside from the major mechanical issues, there was black mold growing all over the seal of the tub. Yes, someone sold me this. Ugh. ‍ Shane educated me on how dangerous that is in a washer machine and regardless of using bleach, it will always be there. That was enough for me to call it a day and get rid of that machine. I took my ass down to Home Depot as they are the only ones doing FULL deliveries during COVID-19 (props to Home Depot!) and bought myself a new Top Load washer as suggested by Shane. Never even met him, but I trust him 100%. If I were to have any issues with my sparkly new washer, I will definitely be giving this guy a call! read more

Shane and Peter accommodated our schedule and came by right on time for the appointment. They were able to figure out how to get into a non-standard microwave panel and replaced the broken part. Our washer broke last week and I used Yelp to find someone to have a look and see if it could be repaired. I used Yelp to message a couple companies. Aspen responded in a couple hours to the message and confirmed an appointment. Aspen contacted me the day of the appointment and let me know they could come by early which they did. They worked quickly too find the problem. Unfortunately the cost of the repair wasn't worth it considering the age of the machine. Great service. I'd recommend Peter and Shane. read more

These guys checked in beforehand and were able to show up early even. They diagnosed the drainage issue that was causing my leaky fridge problem in literally the 10 minutes it took them to disassemble and clean out the first spot they checked. I've had other people look at it and they tried things that seemed logical but ultimately didn't solve the problem so this was money well spent especially for how quickly they had it all back together. I was starting to think I'd be in for a new unit. On the way out I asked about my washer which they also diagnosed but for the age of the unit and how badly it was worn they recommended not putting money into it. Great service and great advice. He was patient and helpful. He was generous with his time and even called me back to see how I was making out. I had a fantastic experience with Peter & Shane at Aspen! Quick with a quote (within the hour!), super flexible on scheduling, by far the lowest price Ive sourced (after doing a lot of researching), right on time, and really professional in their approach! We had a new GE washer dryer that needed to be side vented, and not only were they able to do it quickly and on our schedule, but they were accommodating when the part we had didn't quite work! They're dedicated to getting the job done properly, but not at the expense of their customer's time and money. I hope I don't have the need for an appliance repair again, but if I do.. My refrigerator stopped working and we had to vacate the contents to my family's various fridges and freezers while I contemplate what to do. See that a similar replacement fridge was ~$1200-1400 I decided to call a repair technician. I actually called 2 highly rated repair companies and Shane called me within 10-15 minutes! In the end he was professional, friendly and knowleagable and was able to fix our fridge which wasn't very old and saved us a lot of money. When it says that they will respond to your request within 10 minutes, trust that they will, even if you email them at an early hour. I was given the number to Shane, by Peter (the owner) to schedule an appointment. I then called Shane (before business hours) and he so helpfully gave me some suggestions to try and fix my problem before he came out. Unfortunately, his remedy was not what was wrong with my appliance. But I was oh so impressed with his wanting to save me some money instead of knowing what the problem might be, coming out and then charging me to do it himself. Now, that's what I call an ethical company! Eventually, both Shane and Peter came to my rescue to try and help me. Very impressed with the top of line service I received yesterday from Aspen, specifically from Shane and Peter. My 11 year old top loading washing machine was no longer spinning and I wasn't sure whether I'd have to buy a new machine or whether it could be fixed. Shane and Peter quickly diagnosed the problem - a broken drive belt ( yes, this is a basic machine but it has served us well, and now with a new drive belt, it will continue to do so!) They had to go to Coquitlam for the part- a relief the parts store carried it in stock!- but didn't charge for their time in picking up the part. I needed my dishwasher fixed (new panel) and they phoned right away and came the next morning with the part I needed. They kept in prompt contact with arrival time and serviced the machine as well as installing part. They were awesome. my washing machine broke last week and i used yelp to find a hopefully reliable and trusted service guy.. i phoned different company ( from burnaby BC area) and eventually shane from Aspen phone me back and set up an appointment to look at the washer..next day shane and pete show up early (the good part) to look at the machine...i told them what the problem (the front panel /display has no power) and shane start trouble shooting the problem..he figures its the mother board that supply the power to the control board that is the problem in the first place (front display is dead) so he ask me if we wanna continue on i said if he is sure that that's the problem then go ahead, he's response was with electronic board you really cant tell until you replace it fair enough i agree for them to buy the parts...pete called reliable parts and inquire about the parts ... when i asked pete how much he was mumbling and told me around $300+...while both of them are picking up the parts i phone reliable parts and also inquire about the same parts what the sale ref told me if you have an acct. $174 and if you dont $245 ..after few hours pete and shane came back and installed the parts and guess what the display board still not working .i decide to just put everything back together and probably just get a new machine .. now here's the kicker i then asked them how much is the parts and pete told me few times it is $345 (electronic parts non returnable once you open it) ...they were charging me an extra $100 dollars so i asked to show me the receipt instead of giving me the receipt he told me he's going to check it again in his car and when he came back he said im right it is $245 only...again im hopping to get a trusted , knowledgeable and specially honest repair guy and obviously its not this 2 guys so be aware people.. read more
