I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the handling of a recent fire incident involving a stove purchased from Home Depot, and the subsequent fraudulent assessment provided by your contracted service provider, Kirpal Calgary. , the interior of the stove caught fire, requiring the use of a fire extinguisher to suppress the blaze. The appliance suffered severe, irreparable structural and electrical damage. Allstate sent a technician from Kirpal Calgary to assess the damage. This technician conducted a completely negligent review. Despite visible charring, compromised internal components, and exposed electrical wiring sticking out of the unit, the technician claimed the appliance "looks good." It was abundantly clear that his only priority was collecting his service call fee, showing an absolute disregard for safety, liability, and professional ethics. I have provided numerous photographic records and video evidence clearly demonstrating that this appliance is a total loss and a severe fire hazard. It is deeply concerning that Allstate is choosing to accept the word of a negligent third-party contractor over indisputable photographic proof. read more

Our refrigerator & freezzer stopped working. Called Kirpal and he was able to send someone out to fix it a few hours later. The technician did great in getting the job done the same day. He came prepared with a compressor which was the problem. read more

The 1-star is for lack of follow-up to filling out the online contact form as well as no answer to phone calls (which show up as "Face Time call"... i just want a regular phone call. I have a 3yr old Cuisinart 14-cup drip, home coffee machine whose water leaked out of the resevoir. The manufacturer has been absolutely useless. Anyone have any ideas? read more

I chose this company as their website said $50 off of services. I have spent several hundred dollars fixing appliances in the past and was happy for any coupon. Of course the $50 was only for early Covid. Surprise we are still n Covid and the $50 is still on their website. My basement tenants dishwasher stopped working. We did not know what the issue was. The fee was $80 for assessment and the cost of parts if needed. Apparently the issue was a motor and needed to be replaced. If that was the case he should have stopped and called me to move forward . This technician thought it was a plugged hose and proceeded to change it. The charge was $180 later. The dishwasher lasted 1 week. The reason why I am dissatisfied is that their should have been an assessment. He should have then called me to see if it was worth fixing. I am out $180 and still have to buy a new dishwasher. read more

Such a disappointment. 2 weeks after first contacting them, I'm not only still without a working dishwasher but am told they haven't even ordered the parts that were supposed to be ordered a week ago and that it would be at least 2 more weeks before my dishwasher would be back up and running. It's notable that most of these positive reviews are years old - service seems to have completely gone downhill here. Just a warning/heads up for others looking for decent service like I was! Here's the rundown: May 22nd - Contacted via their website form to request an appointment. May 28th - After not hearing back at all, I called and was able to get an appointment for May 30th (no explanation for the lack of contact). May 30th - The repair tech came for my dishwasher and microwave. His immediate answer (after collecting his service fee for each and before even opening either appliance) was that the appliances were too old (10yrs) and I should just replace them as the parts would be too expensive. When I pointed out that I'd already looked up the part I suspected I needed for my dishwasher and it was only $30, he took a closer look and said he could bring it in for $60 after all. I pointed out that was more than I could find it online - he said that it was available locally and certainly more convenient for me even though it cost more. He called back that same day to confirm the parts + labour quote which I approved - convenience is valuable and I prefer to support small business! - and he told me they'd be back in touch imminently to book the install. June 6th - One week later after having not heard back for the parts install, I called and was told someone else would contact me with an update. Finally, I was told the parts hadn't been ordered after all, was given a new quote, and told that it would be at least 2 more weeks to get the parts in making the total time at least 1 month from when I first contacted them. ******** I couldn't be more frustrated. This would put me at a minimum of 4 weeks from when I first contacted them for a simple repair, and at a premium price. Had I just ordered the in-stock-everywhere part online as I was tempted to do 2 weeks ago (before I decided that supporting a small local business was the better thing to do!), I would have had a working appliance a week or more ago instead of being faced with 2 more weeks and a hefty bill from Kirpal or another week to just do it myself. So much for trying to go with the small business! read more

Have been very easy to work with, no hidden fees or costs, and are reasonable with their pricing. Not very honest people out there when it comes to billing in the industry but they seem to be doing their stuff right. They'll spend quality time rather than quantity time to service. They're probably one of the older service providers in Vancouver, and are very comfortable to deal with. So if you've got older or newer appliances they've the ones to go to! I wish minus one was a rating I could give the company. Not only did they rob me once I had given them my credit card information they told me no more then 300 but then charged me 720 dollars, my fridge broke not even 6 months after the repair. After I called them to get someone out to fix there horrible work while I have renters living in this apartment and I'm paying daily for this issue they refused to call back. They use an answering service in Asia and you have no way to actually contact anyone to resolve an issue over a week now and no one has the decency to call back. I'm now in the process of filing a police report against these thief's. Please dear god do not use these horrible people. read more

Poor management! Called Friday and setup an appointment to fix my washing machine on Monday morning between 10am-12:00pm. Got a call at 9:00am Monday to confirmed the arrival time at 10am. Got a call again at 10am saids delay to 4-5pm or MAYBE next day morning. No thanks! Don't waste your time!!! read more

Kirpal Appliances has done work for us twice when our refrigerator broke and I've been very impressed both times. They're very professional and flexible, and each time offered alternatives of a lower cost 3rd party solution vs a brand name solution along with the pros and cons of each. In the latest case they even suggested replacing our fridge might be a more cost-effective solution than an expensive compressor replacement, which was very honest of them. Fortunately more testing showed the relay was the issue, and a 3rd party relay fixed the problem immediately. I also have to thank them for being incredibly responsive - I called at about 10:30AM when we figured out the freezer wasn't working, and even though they were fully booked they rearranged their schedule to at least come out for a same-day diagnostic check. And then they actually fixed the problem while here! Highly recommended - have worked with them twice and will not hesitate to call them again! read more

Our LG Dishwasher had problems draining, so we called up Kirpal (along with another repair company) to see if they could come by to have a look. The other company wasn't available for several days, so we went with Kirpal, based on their Yelp recommendations. The repair technician arrived during the allotted time, and was super friendly and courteous. He knew his stuff too. He quickly diagnosed the problem and it was a super easy fix. Within 45 minutes, our dishwasher was working again. I'd give these folks a five star review here, except for one thing. We felt their explanation of fees and pricing over the phone was at best confusing, and at worst, a bit misleading. They told my wife over the phone that there was a service charge (non refundable) of $89, and then if the technician works on the machine or fixes it, then that service charge be included in the billing. The way it was explained, we were lead to believe that the $89 had to be paid, but if the technician billed any time, that would be part of it. The work took about 45 minutes, and once we got the bill, there was $89, plus $55 for the hour (minimum) the technician would be there. I questioned it mildly but paid anyway. It wasn't so much the total cost of the repair ($150 with taxes) that concerned me - I was happy to have the appliance repaired - but that we thought the $89 would be credited against the hourly rate. We felt they could be a lot clearer on this, saying "$89 gets us to your door, then you have to pay an hourly rate if the technician does repair work". In retrospect, the way they described it was just ambiguous enough for customers to expect the $89 to be credited against any actual work. Another thing that led me to believe the $89 would be credited against the actual work - in James C's review of them on 10/17/2013, he mentions the initial fee (then $69) and says that's all they charged him. So if you are thinking of hiring this company (and you should consider them - they are very courteous and fast and know their stuff), please be aware - $89 gets them just to your door. You'll be paying $55/h plus parts on top of that. In this day and age, it's not an entirely unreasonable amount, but still, I can't bring myself to rate 4 stars, but I wish I could rate 3.5 stars, based on this. read more

A great firm to deal with! I looked them up on Yelp as we were having difficulty with our dishwasher. The lady who answered the phone and took my information was very nice and professional. The next morning, the technician called us to say he might be about 10 mins late. I really appreciated the call as I find so many other firms don't show that kind of consideration and have you waiting all day. When he arrived, he listened to our experience and then clearly outlined a couple of scenarios before doing his inspection of our dishwasher. As it turned out, the problem was that our water pressure was low because I hadn't cleaned out an intake. He found olive pits, bones and various other debris. Moments later, he tested the dishwasher and it was back to working great again. The bill was under $100 for his time and expertise. Very friendly fellow . I highly recommend this firm for their professionalism, value, and workmanship! read more

I've had Kirpal Appliances come in to fix 2 problems recently, and have been pleased with their service. The most recent experience has prompted me to make this, my first review. Issue #1 was a broken washing-machine door, parts for which they sourced within the week and installed to my schedule which I appreciated. #2 was a broken garburator (engine had seized up), which the repair person fixed with wrenches and a lot of elbow grease - and charged only $69. After initial phone request, they confirm and are available via text. If you're looking for an appliance repair, I'd recommend these guys. read more

I sent in an appointment request on their web site for my washer not draining out the water. I realized that my request was close to Christmas and didn't expect any sort of reply, however, within 30 minutes I received a response back that they could be here in short notice = much appreciated. My mom was out of town, therefore, I needed this fixed before she came home (in case it was initially my fault by accident). Classic John Huges movie moment of needing to get things fixed before the parents come home scenario. I picked this place based on the Yelp reviews. The technician came very quickly and even though it was last minute, worked around my schedule. The good news is that the washer is not broken, however, we were able to source the problem and get the answers that we needed. The technician was friendly, polite and professional. We had a tech come to fix our washing machine that had been leaking form the back. When he arrived all he did was open the Door and said its because you're using tide pods. Proceeded to show a blurry video and told me to only use 2 TBSP of liquid soap. Now after he left I still had the same issue with the recommended amount of soap. I have also contacted LG about this issue and they have assured me Tide pods especially ifI am only using one should not cause this issue. Stay away from this company as they are not responsive and it seem likes everyone I talk to has had the same issue. They're not going to help and will try to charge you for your in warranty service request. read more

This was the worst experience ever! The technician told me that he will be back within 2 days, I followed up a week later and he didn't even know if the part was ordered. I was quoted over $500, which is very excessive. I ended up buying a new dishwasher for $500. I will leave this review for many other potential customers to see. I have worked with this appliance company before. When I was a tenant of the owner and now since I have been managing other owners properties. I received wrong diagnosis of a fridge from another company and almost bought a new fridge because of it. Then spoke with the owner of Kirpal appliances to describe to him what the other company said was wrong and he found out that the part are available for that fridge. When the other company said they weren't available to get. On top of them telling me that it was three separate parts that needed to be replaced. Where as Kirpal's told me it was only one part that needed to be replaced from my description not even after seeing it. He was correct. Keeping the fridge in place and not having to organize a fridge removal on top of buying a brand new fridge, which is a lot more money than fixing the current fridge easily in the home for the tenants. The fridge is now working great and I saved the owner money. Plus it was a holiday weekend so the owner went to his store, opened the store to get the part that they luckily had in stock. Then personally came and repaired the fridge. The tenant had already lost a bunch of food that I had to pay to replace as a courtesy. They were away and were very happy to come back to a working fridge with money on the table to replace their food. He was very understanding to the time sensitivity with the situation. This was my third experience with Kirpal. The first two were great. The last one was really not great. I called to get service on my fridge because it was leaking water across my kitchen floor. The technician called and said he would be late .. okay. Kind of inconvenient, but I can live with it. When he did show up, he was fairly polite at first but as time passes he becomes less and less professional. He seemed to think that it was my job to wrestle my fridge back into its slot in the kitchen, he was rude, he complained about dog hair that was sucked into the bottom of my fridge, he made an enormous amount of grunting sounds while he worked on my fridge and he was just really unprofessional, and he spent about 10 minutes on the phone to his boss explaining why he couldn't go to a call after my place. So, the upside is I didn't have to buy a new fridge. The downside is that I was insulted in my own home by a dude I was paying to be there, who seemed to think that any heavy lifting was somehow my responsilbilty and who showed up late and billed me for time he spent talking to his boss about how he couldn't work late that night. In terms of technical knowledge, he seemed to know what was going on. In terms of dealing with paying customers and treating them with respect, he gets a failing grade. But I do temper that with my previous experiences with Kirpal where the technicians were excellent. I honestly don't know if I would go back but I know they used to be very good. But probably not anymore. read more

Kirpal was very professional and reliable from start to finish, from scheduling the appointment for the next available day and explaining the charges. Grant the service technician called ahead and came at the beginning of the specified two-hour service window. just called to ask for a quote to replace the fan belt on my stackable washer-dryer. Was told the service men would have to come and take a look at it and there is a service charge for the call. I asked again if I provide the manufacture and model number I can not simply get a quote to see if it is worth repairing? I received a firm NO. Now that is bad service. I called one place prior to this place and one since and both provide estimates for the part labour charge. read more

They were fantastic!!! Replied within an hour, sent a guy same day and had the pats in the van to fix my dryer on the spot. My dryer is stacked and in a tight closet making it difficult to navigate. One other company came prior and walk edit stating they couldn't help me, but the Kirpal technician found a way to get back there and help me out. So appreciative!! read more

These guys are great. My fridge started making a weird beeping sound at around 10pm last night. I tried to figure the problem out but quickly realized I needed some professional help for the situation. It was late, and it is also the Saturday between Xmas and New Years when many people aren't working (like me!) and I was thinking I was going to go without refrigeration until the weekend. Having read some good reviews here (and having had a kind of weird experience with Andy's appliance repair the last time my fridge acted up) I emailed Kirpal. This morning I woke up to a phone call from their office saying they could come and work on my fridge some time between 10am and noon today. The technician showed up right at 10, looked at the fridge, made some calls, realized he had to drive to Poco to get the right parts, took off, came back within the hour, came back, fixed my fridge and the whole thing, including parts and travel time, was just over $300. And he was such a nice guy. He actually apologized for not having shaved but said there had been a death in his family this week. geez Louise, take a couple of days off! Super considerate, really prompt and reasonably priced. And they take credit cards, which is handy because most of us don't have a few hundred bucks laying around for appliance repairs that happen at inconvenient banking times. I would recommend these guys to anyone. And I concur with what others have said about Andy's being kind of weird and rude. But these guys at Kirpal are fabulous. read more

I own a number of investment properties. Needless to say when a tenant called to say her fridge was not working I immediately called my go-to appliance repair company but they were fully booked for another week to diagnose the problem. I then called KIRPAL APPLIANCES and they came the next day. The fridge main board was seized and the part was available locally & ordered immediately. The next day, the KIRPAL service technician came to replace the main board and the fridge is working fine! We had our washer fixed back in January this year. We previously had a repair guy come over for a warranty repair from Whirlpool who just didn't do a thing. Soon the warranty period was over. The service guy from Kirpal arrived on time, did a prompt diagnostic test, figured out the problem and fixed it in less than one hour. I really liked how he explained what was wrong and what needed to be fixed in the language I could understand. I thought the rate was very reasonable. Very good service for our broken fridge. Prompt response, called 20 mins before turning up so I could go about my day (smart). Diagnosed with diligence. Went to pick up part and was back really quickly. Job took longer to than it should due to poor GE profile fridge design not Kirpal's fault, the whole freezer section needed disassembling in its entirety to replace the most common failing part, the evaporator fan, idiots at GE! Despite this, labour charge was very reasonable. Friendly and intelligent. Very satisfied, I recommend. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I have to. I requested an appointment online early morning, they called me back early afternoon only but they were able to come fix my fridge the same day. They said between 4pm and 6pm and the repair man was here at 4.30pm which was great. He found the problem in 5 min, found a new part in his vehicle and replaced it (the fan was not working anymore). My fridge works again, yeah! All in all, it took him a bit over 1h. He had to wait a bit while I was emptying the freezer. The repair man was very nice and polite. read more

My refrigerator hit the fritz and was no longer keeping cool. I found Kirpal Appliances on Yelp, they had great reviews, and now I know why. Rakesh came over and fixed my Whirpool fridge. He is extremely knowledgable and able to identify the problem immediately. He came with all the tools and parts he needed to repair the fridge on the spot and it is now working perfectly again. Our dryer stopped working on Friday. I called Kirpal and on Sunday it was fixed. They charged a service fee to diagnose (on Saturday) and then matched the lower price I found for the part that needed replacing and came back to do the work on Sunday. The technician was nice, took care to reposition the stacked washer and dryer at the end so that our shelving fit next to it, and to level the machines properly. He also helped with the vacuuming of lint. I was very happy. I would give 4.5 stars, just because the error code on the dryer already gave the diagnostic but I still had to pay the service fee; I suppose it makes sense though for the technician to double-check the diagnostic, and it was well worth the price given how quickly and efficiently the repair was carried out. read more

Very impressed. Tried to install a new dishwasher on my own, came across some issues. Called on Friday, they were able to fit me in on Saturday. Once their tech (Deny) arrived, he came across a few more obstacles but was never deterred. He really came through and was totally laid back despite it not being a straight-forward job.
