Turns out it was the water pump, and it was throwing a code for the fan clutch, so he suggested I replace that as well - since it had to come off to get the new water pump in anyway. The new fan clutch was unbalanced and failed after driving for a day, ripping its own harness off, causing a short that prevented the vehicle from starting once I arrived home. I called and talked to Elite Performance, and they had my vehicle towed back in to repair it. They switched to another brand of fan clutch and replaced it at no charge. Stand-up guys! I will be taking it back to get the engine tuned soon.

Sure, still charged me $185 for diagnosis. Thought I was getting taken for a ride by my Carmax warranty because they were only willing to pay $66 towards the $160 charge for the part. Turns out that is exactly what the part retails for, checked AutoZone and genuine Chevy parts online. This place doubled down, they reserve the right to mark up the parts as they choose on some margin they weren't able to disclose to me, wouldn't tell me how much they paid for my part, just that they weren't gonna budge on what they charged me. Ladies, make sure you ask ALL the questions, don't let anyone think you don't know what you're talking about before you leave your car with a mechanic shop like this one.

Absolutely stole $400+ from me…read more Visited them in September 2023 because my A/C was not working properly. They informed it was just time to recharge the refrigerant and it would be around $430. I said this seemed steep and they said it would be $120 if I did nothing and just picked the car back up for their diagnostic fee, they gave a big pitch about why it cost so much for this type of refrigerant and their work includes a warranty and yada yada. I said fine go ahead. At which point I looked up Autozone's cost for a can of the refrigerant with a gauge and it was $150. So I called them to tell them not to do the work, I would just do it myself. A full 8 minutes had passed and they said "sorry, he's already finished and parking it now." $430 for 8 minutes of work must be nice especially when they don't stand behind it at all. Fast forward to the end of February, it finally had a day warm enough for me to turn my a/c on again and now it's doing the same thing it was when I brought it in. Called them up and they said yes I'm still in the warranty. Take the car in. They determine there is indeed a leak in the valve and argued with me for having the car for a few months since the last time, I informed them that the months between September and February are known as winter and I hadn't been using the A/C. They agreed to honor their service warranty and fix the leak but asked me to pay for the lost refrigerant which is magically now only $108 lol. I was about to resign and agree when Kyle kept on about how the leak wasn't present in September, I told him I think it could have been because that's a big coincidence, at which point he then scoffs and said FINE WE WILL JUST FIX IT THEN. When I went to pick up the car he handed me the card for another mechanic as a way to say he didn't want my business anymore, which was never ever ever in danger anyway. Now HERE I AM JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER and guess what isn't working again? So congratulations on the $430 for a job you clearly did not do. I'll find somewhere else to fix it this time. If this was the type of service I provided in my work I would be ashamed of myself. I cannot recommend against them strongly enough, they should scrape the "Honest" sign off their building and just be Negative One Auto Care because that's what you get with them.

We gave these people a call after they repaired our neighbor's furnace in their camper van. They…read morewere quick to reply and came out to assess our problems that afternoon. On their initial visit, the tech told us how to reset our side slide which was experiencing uneven movement and sticking. They also set an appointment for the following week to repair or our furnace. They showed up early for the repair and it wound up being $200 less than the original quote. They removed the furnace and cleaned out the mess left by dirt daubers (thanks previous owner!), then reinstalled and made sure the screen was in place to prevent future problems. Very professional and reliable!! We were impressed!

It is no easy task to locate a Good, Honest mechanic. It's even more difficult to locate such a Mechanic that isn't SO expensive that a second mortgage on your house is required for a routine tuneup. I have finally found all these rare qualities and So much more at "Solutions Automotive" owned by Joe Yannessa. It speaks volumes about a business when the owner decides to run his business by letting customer Word of Mouth concerning the Quality Work and undeniable top notch Results be a Proven form of Advertisement that millions of dollars in conventional advertising could never hope to achieve. I've learned as well that Joe chooses to employ amazing people to represent his high quality product and standards. Joe's lead mechanic, Cody is not only friendly but demonstrated a level of skill and knowledge in his ability to trouble shoot what is the real problem, AND does so with a Skill level-Mechanic Ninja! Just as much, the Shop Manager, Mike is just as much a Golden Treasure that Joe has brought in to his business. Not only can you immediately recognize the genuine focus that Mike has on real customer service by identifying what each individual customers mechanical problems and needs are, but he's incredibly outgoing and polite in a world that has often forgotten such things. Mike also has the ability to explain different things in simple terms that are easy to understand because he himself has many years under his belt as a mechanic as well so instead of being faced with a salesman, you're faced with an advocate. I've even come in to the shop to find Mike walking in, having to wash his hands first before giving a firm hand shake because he was out back assisting in repairs as a team so delays are minimized. They just fixed my Dads truck I inherited when he passed away less than a year ago of some problems multiple other mechanics tried and failed to fix. It runs better now than I'd ever known it to before and even gets much better gas mileage than my Dad ever experienced. Fixing my Papa's truck, the last thing I ever got from Him is worth More to me than 100 brand new expensive cars. Joseph Mauro I wanted to say thank you for the kind compliment but I hate to inform you I am no longer employed by solutions automotive. Ladies and gents, I used to work for Joe yanessa and I can tell you from being on the inside of this establishment it is not a place you want to take your vehicles. I can't tell you numerous of times I "got into trouble" for not wanting to sell a customer parts or "fluid flushes" for their vehicle because they truly did not need it. I even got written up because I would try to help people diagnose a simple problem outside without properly writing a ticket and charging them the $90 diagnostic fee. I am extremely flustered with this company and would never recommend them to anyone. I would suggest using Plano Tire Co. 1516 N. Central Expressway Plano, TX 75074. By the way Joe does not do his own inspections, alignments, body repairs or tires, he takes them to Mckinney tire, discount tire, first choice auto or next door to Alex at auto solutions for body repair so I definitely would not take my vehicle to Joe only to get up charged so bewarned. He tries to "act like he cares" by going into depth conversation about your cars needs, so it seems like it's bad but really he's just trying to take your money. He also says he is Christian and goes to church, it even says Sundays closed on the door for church which all he does is have meets at fuzzy tacos for his jeep buddies or truck buddies, that's none of my business but just shows what kind of guy your dealing with. People please make the right decision and think twice before taking your vehicles here. read more

I got to know Joe Yanassa of Solutions Automotive (SA) through meetings at the Allen Chamber of Commerce. In 20011 my 2004 Lexus GX470 needed some serious work on part of the front axle and was going to be expensive. Looking for an alternative solution (forgive the pun), I contacted Joe. He suggested I self source and buy a complete axle and he would install it. This proved to be around half the cost of just replacing a part of the axle through the Lexus dealership. Since that time I have cautiously used SA for other repairs and service of the vehicle. SA replaced the radiator in November last year 2014, again at significant savings over Lexus dealership. During a current service SA noticed a leak in the radiator and subsequently replaced it free of all charges under the warranty. The service record of one's vehicle is available on SA's web site and can be printed in a concise and informative format. If you have a Lexus and willing to forego the luxury waiting rooms, coffee and loan cars at the Lexus dealership, I fully recommend Solutions Automotive. read more

We truly appreciated Solutions Automotive friendly staff, excellent work on our SUV and follow up! They are awesome. Our transmission went out on our SUV and they got our vehicle up and running in a few days. One of the mechanics stayed late into the evening to repair our vehicle. I have to throw a major shout out to Solutions Automotive in McKinney. I had an electrical problem in the ignition system of my Jeep that was impossible to repeat with consistency. We have been customers for years, and throughout that time - without exception - Joe and Solutions have provided top-class care for my cars. And, that's not easy - I have a Lexus and Suburban, both paid for, which means 'other than new.' Well, we have 2 teenage drivers still coming up. Thank you for honest-to-goodness estimation, evaluation and quotes. I brought my Subaru 2007 Outback in for brake replacement. His quote was 25% lower than a competitive quote. But he (Joe) told me up front that my car had a lot corrosion and that there may be some more repairs coming my way. So based on his honest assessment, I decided to hold off on repairing a 9 year old Subaru and invest in a new car. That's why he gets 5 stars from me. read more

Good: Trustworthy Bad: N/A…read moreOverall: My default car repair company My vehicle started making a terrible grinding sound that made me concerned I may do damage if I continued driving it. I called a few places to get an idea of a quote for what I thought was likely the cause. The dealer gave a quote that was significantly higher than Integrity. I expected this but it really was surprising how much more. Another repair shop wouldn't even venture a guess, despite my acknowledgement that without seeing it, any suggestion was based on a lot of assumptions that could be wrong. I had my vehicle towed to the shop right before a snow storm was forecasted. They told me it would likely be looked at after the storm passed, but they were able to look at it the same day. They found that I made a mistake I made that cause a bolt to come loose. This was the cause of the noise. They charged me for a bolt and 30 minutes of work. They could have easily made the repair I expected with a significantly higher cost. They called to explain what they found and tell me it was ready. I cannot speak to cost because my resolution was so easy it didn't require long to fix. However the honesty they displayed impressed me. This shop is now a place I will visit when I need help. The complexity of issues I may face with my vehicle means that I could be fleeced, but they earned my trust.

Then he proceeded to tell me it would be $225 an hour (estimate up to 5 hours) to remove the stripped oil plug (that they stripped)! When I said no I'm not paying to fix something YOU broke. Then, the owner proceeded to tell me that my car was not safe to drive because when they stripped the plug it caused an oil leak! Then, he backtracked and said they didn't strip the plug! He said it must have happened the last time my oil was changed. They did my last oil change! I took my chances and left and drove over to another service station. The owner of KwikKar is dishonest. He changed the story after I left my review on Kwik Kar. You read, you decide look at the other 1 star reviews. how he always blames the customers. He accused me of a DIY on my own car. I'm a 57 year d woman. I do not work on my own car! He's dishonest!

The estimate was over $5000. The second opinion was you don't need any of that but you do need about $100 worth of work. I called corporate and talked to the area manager who said he would look into it and they don't do business that way. Please give us another chance. I took another car in for an oil change. They said I needed necessary maintenance because it was do. I looked in the manual and the car wasn't old enough and had half the mileage listed before manufacture recommended maintenance. I took the car back to the dealer and nope. Not time for that. I took another car in due for oil and inspection. And again a list of necessary things. Again not due. I don't know what happened because it's never been like this before.

The issue could have been a lot bigger, but these guys never do unnecessary repairs. The tech who carried out my actual oil change (older gentleman) was fantastic. He deserved all the raises & praises.
