From start to finish, Bliss made the first massage ever for my 64 year-old Mother this Mother's Day…read moreweekend very enjoyable. The owner was very communicative, accommodating, and understood the specific needs of my Mom. Eric, the masseuse, is very laid back, easy to talk to, and took the time to put my mother at ease and accommodate her requests during the massage. Mom said several times after her hour-long massage was done that she "feels like a new woman." She's been having some neck tension and spasms, and we wanted to treat her to a massage this Mother's Day to help alleviate some of that. This experience was so pleasurable for her and she notes that she will take Erin's recommendation and schedule a massage now once a month. Bravo! Thank you for helping us pamper our Mom in this very special way.

Okay, this is hands down (no pun intended!) the best massage in Columbia…read more Jennifer Brown is the Licensed Massage Therapy of Bliss Massage Therapy. She is located in the Personally Fit gym on Gadsen. There are about 5 reserved parking spots to the side as well as metered spots out front. You need to go to the back of the gym and turn right to find her. Inside, you have a relaxing seating area and then the massage room. She will give you your choice of music. If you are congested, she likes to use eucalyptus to open up those nasal passages. Just a little background on me: Today, I sat down and finally counted the # of massage therapists I have tried in Columbia for a deep tissue massage. The total? 8. Yup, at several other brick-and-mortars in the city. I like a true deep tissue massage, not gentle Swedish strokes though she does offer Swedish as well. She hits my tension knots every single time without missing and I consistently leave much more relaxed and relieved. Jen truly has a gift of a healing touch as well as a caring empathetic bedside manner to her. She will make you feel at ease instantly. I moved out of Cola recently, and I honestly wish I could have taken with me in my luggage. If you need tension relief, please visit her. If you're like me, you will leave with a goofy blissed-out smile and noodle-like body!

August 2013 Searched everywhere in Columbia for a prenatal massage with good reviews about the…read moretherapist and affordable prices. Couldn't find any, so I searched in Lexington and this place and massage therapist - Liz had glowing reviews. I immediately scheduled an appointment. I was suffering from round ligament pain especially to the my right hip - it had gotten to the point where any movement or reposition was painful and I was having difficulty walking and sleeping and nothing helped - warm baths, Tylenol, off loading, nothing. Liz was very personable over the phone and easily set me up for an appt. This spa is located in the Old Mill area of Lexington downstairs where Pooleoza is at. Doesn't look appeasing to the eye when you walk down there but her spa was really nice, spacious and beautifully designed. She greeted me immediately, I filled out health form, she asked me a couple of questions about my pregnancy to ensure I wasn't a high risk pregnant momma, then she informed me of the details of the spa. The room was really nice with brick walls and the table was specially fitted for pregnant women with a special massage pillow. The music was really relaxing. The massage was awesome - she really works the kinks out. Went she got to my hip - I wanted to weep in relief, those stretches and massages felt so good. It lasted about 1 hour. Afterwards I was completely relaxed. My hip was still in pain that night but the next day and there after, I have not experienced any pain in that hip since, that massage was really what I needed. I would highly recommend her and if I still lived in the Columbia area I would go frequently until baby is born and afterwards. Every woman needs that!
