Strictly no beef due to religion, we mentioned it couple of times that we don't eat it, but we still were served beef. One they served it with beef toppings, we said plz remove it which they did & we also mentioned why we don't eat it. But the second dish also had beef in it. When we asked them, they said they forgot even though we mentioned before the meal, before we ordered it, after we ordered it, & after they changed the toppings. The only reason we stayed for the second dish was because well its korean food and we thought the server was nice but she when she said she forgot, we were very upset. The manager was rude & put a high tip on the food. We were still down to give tip but honestly, who will give a 20% tip after that-too high. We asked if we could lower it because of the very bad service, but they were like pay it!!!! Bibimbop and Katsu ordered and received bbq, kimchi and other sauces. Dishes are slightly pricey compared to what I get at other Korean restaurants. That said, when I opened up the containers at home I was impressed. Katsu was crispy and generous I portion. Beautiful displayed, fresh and hot. I went with my mom and dad to try the place. We weren't sure what we were getting into when we went, but what little expectations we had were let down after our visit. To start off, the waitress handed my mom and I forks and knives instead of chopsticks, while she gave my dad chopsticks. My dad is asian while we are white. I had fried chicken was was pretty good, but in all honesty I think Popeyes had better chicken than Somac. My dad had some sort of classic Korean dish which he said was decent. But the real travesty was my mother who had ordered some sort of shrimp dish- but it might as well have just been a dish because the shrimp were tiny! They were the size of her pinky! They really lived up to the name of shrimp because they were so small. And it wasn't like she got a lot of them either, there were 7 pieces MAX of "shrimp" in her dish. This place is a real gem in northern Virginia! What is unique is that their other dishes are actually better than chickens. My favorites are their Yukgaejang, Seolleongtang, and Ramen. As a Korean, theirs are honestly much better than what you can get at Korean restaurants in Annandale or Centreville. Eh I tried it for the first time I've had better Korean food. 1st the wait for the food was horrible I ordered for pick up and it says it will be ready in 40 mins so I get there to pick the food up 40 mins later it was not even ready and there were many more people waiting for their food inside the restaurant like me. After waiting I finally get called that my order was ready because I was so hungry did not bother to check the bag and when I got home to check they forgot to put the egg rolls that I paid for. Was in the mood for korean fried chicken on a late Sunday night and decided to give this place a shot. I ordered half Soy/half Hot wings and it came with pink radish on the side. The quality of the chicken was much better than other places in the area like Bonchon and MC. The Soy was very flavorful and the Hot wasn't so bad you needed to drink some water after every bite. Tonight was my first time here! It's amazing! Everything I ordered was extremely flavorful. I absolutely loved the menu options. A lot of traditional Korean dishes, which is a huge plus for people looking to eat meals that aren't really "American-ized". They do have Korean fried chicken and a bulgogi burger which were the only 2 items that I could see being considered the fusion part. (What I could remember) My absolute favorite part of the dish I ordered, (spicy squid and pork bulgogi), is that it didn't taste like it was just tossed into some spicy paste. It was seasoned and flavorful, and the best part the first bite isn't spicy and the heat only kicks in the more you eat it! Of course they do have a little chili pepper image next to items that are spicy, and there are a lot of options that aren't spicy. So if spicy isn't your thing, you still have tons of options! We were given some delicious side dishes to compliment our meal which included, kimchi (honestly the best kimchi I've ever eaten that's been served at a restaurant), rice, and pickled radish. All were so fresh and flavorful as well! The staff is extremely friendly! We were immediately greeted the second we walked in the door, all throughout our meal he would come over and ask how everything was and if we needed anything. The number of times he visited our table and the space between those times were perfect! Never once did we feel like he was hovering or was taking too long, the timing was perfect. We were even asked our opinions on the dishes and if we had any critiques to possibly better the dishes! Of course that was hard to answer because we honestly were so pleasantly surprised with how awesome this place is. And the food didn't taste fake! The location is a little hidden, but I am so excited that we can now enjoy some really delicious Korean food that isn't 30 minutes away (hour and a half in traffic ). Smoked salmon bites (smoked salmon on top of lettuce with a sauce that is possibly sesame oil? Whatever it is, it's so yummy). The flavor of the salmon was amazing, you got that nice hint of smoked flavor and the raw flavor of salmon together. The salmon just melts in your mouth and the lettuce was so refreshing and crisp with the smoked flavor. Meals: spicy squid and pork bulgogi (Korean spicy paste mixed in with cooked squid and pork bulgogi (thin meat)) the squid was not rubbery and very easy to eat! The pork was not dry, the spiciness kicked up notches the more you ate it! Beautiful combination alongside some rice. tteokbokki (rice cakes, glass noodles, fish cake in spicy Korean paste) this wasn't my dish, but my boyfriend's dish (I did sneak a taste haha) the rice cakes were beautifully cooked as sometimes they can be really dry and tacky, these weren't, they were soft and squishy and very sweet which compliments the spicy. The noodles retained the most heat with spice (which was awesome, can you tell we like spicy stuff?) the fish cakes were also delicious they didn't taste super fishy, think more along the lines of tofu with a little hint smoked flavor.
