There wings are big and awesome. The steak poutine was very good too. Prices for what we got were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back.

The Blind Pig - KFC Korean Fried Chicken- so good!

What a fun place to check out! I was looking for someplace different, when this stumbled across my…read morefeed. So I decided to go check out the blind pig. Pretty easy to find, you can't miss the rustic looking exterior with the blind pig in huge letters on top. There's a decent amount of parking, but I'll bet when this place gets busy it's tougher to find a spot. When you walk inside, the interior is very well kept and has a rustic bar-like feel to it, plenty of bar and high top seating as well as booths. I decided to order an iced tea. Something I've noticed about Canada, iced tea is usually a sweetened drink. Not like iced tea you get in the states. So just be aware of that if you're looking to get some iced tea. Regardless, it was very tasty and hit the spot perfectly. One thing I like about this place is they have a bunch of different specials throughout the week, the day I went the special was the brisket sandwich and side salad for $13.99 Canadian. I upgraded to the Caesar salad, and also ordered a side of KFC, or Korean fried Chicken for those of you in the know. Let me tell you something about that. KFC, absolutely delicious! How can you go wrong with fried chicken thighs with Korean BBQ sauce? You can't, that's what I'm telling you! The brisket sandwich was really really good, albeit just a tad dry. But I'm not deducting any points for that. It was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Service was great, friendly staff, and everything came out as expected. Bottom line? I will definitely be back for that brisket sandwich. They also had some other specials so I guess I'm going to need to spend an entire week here and just eat my life away at the blind pig.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. They have gorgeous dining rooms, lounges, private meeting rooms and a room on the top floor called "Club 77" with a fully stocked bar and billiard/snooker table. The building was built in the 1800s. A lot of the original hardwood is still there. Each room is beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern art. My favorite room is the "Crystal Room" for dining. The chandeliers are breathtaking, especially when the sunlight from the window hits them. The general manager, Archie, could not possibly be nicer. He is so friendly and truly happy to see returning patrons. He is always willing to give a brief, but informative, tour of the building to our guests. He knows everything there is to know about the history of the club. The Club has several member events each year. My favorites are Lobster Night, Pasta Night, and the Wine Festival event. The food is always made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The wine and desserts are also phenomenal! Finally, the service is flawless. The servers are polite and personable. I would definitely recommend this club to anybody looking to join a professional, but down to earth country club. They have many reciprocal relationships with other clubs in other cities, including: NY, Toronto, Scotland and Beijing.

I even tried asking a bartender if we should seat ourselves, but he ignored us and walked away as if he couldn't hear. He later returned with another server, who finally told us someone would be with us shortly. We were eventually seated at a table that was dirty and wet. After I asked for it to be cleaned, we ordered dinner--only to realize water was dripping from the ceiling onto our table, likely from a leaking pipe or roof. I've since filed a report with the health department. Throughout our meal, we were literally being dripped on. When we mentioned it to our server, she giggled and said, "Oh, that's why this table was closed." Clearly, they already knew about the leak and still chose to seat our family there. To make matters worse, the hostess later came over smirking and offered to move us--but by then, we were already finished eating. We then waited another 15 minutes just to get the bill. We paid a full bill. No manager came to apologize. There was no discount or any offerings for us sitting at a dripping table. The experience was extremely disappointing.

I ordered the spinach/feta dip and garlic pan bread. The bread was mediocre and the dip??? Disgusting, runny, cold and bland watery tasting. Not to mention charging 16.00 for a meager and trifling amount. Barely 4 ounces and I am being generous at that. I will NEVER order from there again. I ended up waking during the night to puke and crap my guts out! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE! I have pictures of the slop and will try to post here if possible.

Service sat us upon arrival, giving us the option of inside or out. Inside was very dim lit, so we opted for some fresh air and natural light on their covered patio. The menu was your typical bar food, burgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza. They've got a decent beer selection, though they didn't have a list, you just have to rely on the memory of the server to list off their available options. We got some honey medium heat wings, their closest option to honey bbq. This was my first time getting wings in Canada, and I was surprised by the blue cheese dressing that came with them, apparently it's a bit different than what we're used to in the US, it's more like a honey mustard, so that was a little disappointing, but apparently very common in Canada. It's funny to see how small things like that differ over the boarder. We also go chicken nachos, we got a half portion, which was very large, but just seemed a bit dry. It was ok, but a bit disappointing to be honest. Overall, it was an ok experience, but just standard bar food, with ok service.
