    Horrible nachos
    Karen A.

What a disappointment. Patio looked great and seemed quite busy so decided to stop in for a visit. Our server seemed quite overwhelmed with how busy it was and appeared to be the only server working. The Mr and I ordered a beer to start and as mine arrived quickly his didn't appear for a good 10 minutes later-big no no. Based on that we decided not to have a meal but rather a snack just to pick at and decided on nachos. They were probably the worst nachos I have ever had. The tri colored chips were stale, what little cheese there was, wasn't even melted and it was piled high with onions and green peppers. I'm a fan of both but not to this extent. I had to pick away at the green peppers because there were so many of them! We were so hungry that we tried to pick at it, but it was a real struggle. The only reason for the 2 stars are for the patio and inside bar area. It had a pretty neat look inside. I would not recommend this place and will definately not be returning.

Excellent atmosphere, great menu (they even serve Haggis) and a wonderful selection of beers on tap. Wait staff is top notch. Their signature dessert is fried candy bars. I tried the fried Kit-Kat and it was ulgy looking, but damn tasty! Was worth the 3 hour drive from Cleveland Ohio and dealing with customs agents explaining why we only drove up for dinner...they fully understood.

Food was excellent. Fish tacos had fisk that fit nicely in Scotland Good Haddock, lightly battered, Good beer choices, would be good in Scotland. We were recently in Scotland. Stopped on a chance after watching tall ships in the locks.

Amazing and friendly staff, always feel welcome. They're wings are amazing. Super busy around dinner time though. Quick service and pretty cheap. Real personal local spot.

Shepherds pie! Not the most irish but good as it goes, and tasty!

Great location just off the beach. Had fish and chips and steak frites and a nice walk on the beach afterwards. Will be back!

Super flavourful, refreshing, and unique. The food was just as impressive. I had the Brisket Burger, which was delicious--tangy, spicy, and packed with flavour. Staff is lovely too, accommodating and nice to talk to. Great beer, great food, and a chill vibe--definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

The space is very reminiscent of an old English/Irish pub. Located right in the heart of downtown St Catherine's, my wife and I were promptly welcomed in by the staff as if we were regulars. There was a good selection of in house brews, the bartender was quick to offer suggestions, but we let him know we were told to check out the blueberry wheat. We only had time to stay for one drink, but had a good time, the beer was great and we had a good chat with the bartender. Very frequently and welcoming. We only wish we'd had a time to go back and try some other beers. Hopefully we will get a chance to return one day

The Tap Room has long been a frequent stop of mine as it is one of the places where "everyone knows…read moremy name". I have not written a review for this eclectic, gem of a dive bar until now because I didn't want my review to be biased and based on the fact that I know the owners/operators and love them dearly. Things have changed for this watering hole recently, however, and it is worth writing about. The Tap Room has now incorporated food into their offerings to patrons beyond nuts, chips, and Tap Room Cheese & Crackers that are a staple at this joint. The grill is officially open and it is a must-try if you are in the area. The cook, Chad, is killing it. The burgers are phenomenal. Homemade patties with delicious seasonings done right. The options on the menu are packed with flavor and they have many to choose from. Be sure to try the TRB if you can handle the kick. My other half says it is one of the best burgers he has ever eaten, and he knows his burgers. The wings... they are served whole, as in not broken down into smaller pieces. By doing this, Chad preserves a lot of the natural juices and the end product is so tender you have to try them to understand. Order the "house" wings the first time you are there. They will blow you your mind. **UPDATE** The grill is no longer open at the Tap Room on a regular basis, but they still do food for special occasions (Bills games, Superbowl, etc.). If you are looking for a place to grab a quick libation on your travels, the full bar won't disappoint.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. They have gorgeous dining rooms, lounges, private meeting rooms and a room on the top floor called "Club 77" with a fully stocked bar and billiard/snooker table. The building was built in the 1800s. A lot of the original hardwood is still there. Each room is beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern art. My favorite room is the "Crystal Room" for dining. The chandeliers are breathtaking, especially when the sunlight from the window hits them. The general manager, Archie, could not possibly be nicer. He is so friendly and truly happy to see returning patrons. He is always willing to give a brief, but informative, tour of the building to our guests. He knows everything there is to know about the history of the club. The Club has several member events each year. My favorites are Lobster Night, Pasta Night, and the Wine Festival event. The food is always made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The wine and desserts are also phenomenal! Finally, the service is flawless. The servers are polite and personable. I would definitely recommend this club to anybody looking to join a professional, but down to earth country club. They have many reciprocal relationships with other clubs in other cities, including: NY, Toronto, Scotland and Beijing.
