Love Someday Bar! My go-to bar in the neighborhood. They have an amazing beer selection which can be purchased to go as well. The owner, Megan, and everyone who works there are all so friendly and we always have a great experience stopping there for drinks and food or picking up brews to go. My dog Louie even loves this place - Megan's so nice and brought him treats last time we were there and now he always wants to stop in every time we walk by! Also, on top of all of this, have just been really impressed with Someday's adaptability to all of the changing restrictions during COVID. They've been open the entire time (I think!) and have continued to serve the neighborhood in line with state and local restrictions, whether it's been to-go beers and cocktails, outdoor dining, and now indoor dining. read more

Was very impressed with the food here, way above a typical bar. Started with the mini empanadas, which were packed with flavor and came with a very tasty dipping sauce. Next we tried the chicken tacos, which were my favorite. Chicken was very flavorful and tender and the shells were nice and crispy and held everything perfectly, could eat a dozen of these easily. For my main I had the fried chicken sandwich which was cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy outside, tender and juicy inside. The pickles and aioli added great flavor. I thought the fries were meh, but was so impressed with the rest of the meal that I didn't really care. Think they could knock it out of the park with a good cajun fry or perhaps something like waffle fries but that's just me. Will 100% be back here to try more of their menu. read more

The cocktails, mmm, depending on your tastes there's surely one that will satisfy - I personally suggest the Jaberwocky which is as delicious as it looks. Found this gem a few months go and have crowned her my favorite local spot. Megan (owner) is the absolute sweetest and she makes the best vodka cranz in town. The fried chicken sandwich is bomb and friends say her beer selection is great too. If you're local go grab some food and to-go drinks to support now but once this clears up you absolutely must go for happy hour. 10/10 all around read more

I want to like this bar because it has a good vibe and a good beer list, the problem is I can't buy any of the interesting beer because it's priced so ridiculously - $9 of 8 oz of beer is rarely ever justified, certainly not for beer of modest ABV. There's plenty of good craft beer to be had in Brooklyn that isn't priced so weirdly. Also, they have a solid can selection and you can take them to go!... But you still have to pay the bar price for it. So again, wildly expensive. It's like they've never heard of Covenhoven. read more

Stopped in for a beer on a really hot day last week. Bar was open 11 days according to the owner. Great beer selection and she had a strong knowledge of all the local beers in NY. Great beer bar that is remarkable tough to find in this immediate area. Doubles as a beer store but togo seemed to all go for $8 or more, so stick to drinking onsite. Tons of beers from the greats in NY like Barrier and Grimm. Heavy IPA available and all for $8-12. Got locals and easy to find mixed with the rates and all styles. Got full bar as well and wine and food (though kitchen closes before bar). Cold inside and can get loud but good beer bar feel. Tap list needs to be better displayed as portions are on multiple mirrors so you're literally walking the venue to pick a beer, but other than that a great find for a beer lover and typical prices that don't gouge you for getting the good stuff. read more

I work at Clover Club down the street from Someday Bar and when you are in the craft cocktail scene hospitality is huge also knowing the product you are selling is a big one. Megan the owner is such a force to be reckon with and has hold down her spot with all types of curve balls but she has such a keen eye for a strong team as well! Ciaran the bartender is hospitality at its finest and is personable and creative and on top of his game when he is busy as well. And the food will gladly soak up anything you are drinking and always delicious and innovative as well! After a long day at clover I enjoy hitting up someday before the long ride home in Astoria I love this spot and the spot! Craft beer selection is a amazing, food is always delicious and fun, and service is INCREDIBLE! read more

Didn't have the food but there was an unusual group of whiskies to sample (fairly priced, too), excellent draft beers, and a big old fridge full of to-go local craft cans if you're so inclined. This place is amazing and I'm a bit bummed we didn't discover it earlier! It's primarily order-at-the-bar but the bartender/owner, Megan, came by every now and then to check on us and take orders anyway. The whole staff was really friendly and quick. The restroom is gender neutral and clean with plenty of toilet paper (especially by bar standards). Happy hour lasts until 8pm and with a good array of $5 beers it was easy to make the credit card limit of $10. Best of all the music was such a fantastic throwback that we needed to know the playlist (Fastball radio on Spotify)! It was also perfect volume where we could talk without losing our voices but still hear it. We will definitely be back! read more

I went to this bar recently with two of my friends. we are all Hispanic (I promise this is important to the story). When we walked in, the bartender (A bald white guy in his 40s) asked for our vaccination cards (which is normal). But his tone was very aggressive, we didn't think anything of it. He said we were good to go inside and we grabbed a seat in a general dining area. Thinking a server was going to come over we sat there for about 20 minutes and looked at their menu online. Finally, realizing someone wasn't coming over I went to the bar and asked the bartender if we have to order from him. He said "this isn't show and tell". I have no idea what he meant by that, but it was extremely rude. We should have left right then but it was extremely cold outside and most places were closed in the area. I went to see what my friends wanted to eat, when I returned to the bar he was making a drink at a snails pace. It literally took him over seven minutes to make a simple cocktail. Once he finished and acknowledge me, I gave him my order. Without looking at a clock or phone, he said "the kitchen is closed" without skipping a beat I asked "what time did the kitchen close?" He looks at the computer and says "8pm" the time was only 8:10pm. No apology, no explanation, nothing to encourage us to stay (maybe recommending great drinks). I couldn't help but notice that the 20-30 patrons in the bar were all white. I don't like bringing race into things, but you can't help but notice that everyone is well taken care of with drinks, food, and service. While the only 3 people of color are being treated like second rate citizens. Needless to say my friends and I will not be coming back. read more

Stopped in with a friend to try my newish local pub. Had glasses of Cabernet that were uninteresting, and we each had the burger. The burger was two thin, dried-out tasteless patties with unmelted cheese and some random greens. The brioche bun was nice. I didn't touch the "salad," but my friend liked her fries. She asked for mayo, which was house-made, thin, watery, with an extremely off taste. Service was nice and prompt. Beer list is huge, so if beer is your thing maybe this place is for you. New bar across the street from my apartment. They seem to have a pretty big following already. I was excited but then I was disappointed. I went in to grab a drink, was greeted and served immediately. My friend got a beer which was definitely less than a 1/2 pour. My prosecco was not bubbly. I requested another. Also not bubbly. Probably not going to take my chances again. I feel bad for the bartender lady who has to serve the unbubbly bubbly. read more
