Ashley in admissions was really great too. Their therapy gym on the second floor is the largest one I have seen with a zero gravity treadmill and adjustable stair height machine (ti match your stairs at home). They have a couple of therapy pools on the first floor along with another therapy room down the hall from there. This was the first place that appears to focus more on rehab patients with a smaller number of long-term care patients. I did not read the reviews here until just now. Wow. Totally different than my take on this place. Would encourage you to check it out yourself before you take it off your list.

There are two CNAs who are good and caring, the others suck, have ran out of her meds three times, forgot about transporting to her hospital appointment and I had to coordinate between the hospital and orchard in order to get her there two and a half hours late, many of the CSAs seem very put out and short tempered. this makes my mom scared to even ask for help.

Sooo refreshing their people, place and processes they have keep things humming, efficient and amazingly effective. They are head and shoulders above Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and am super impressed with the doctors and therapists there. Don't waste your time with SNFs--which are a waste of time and awful experience (bad food, light weight/non-existent therapy, poorly managed). If you are thinking of trying out this place, feel free to message me for more details, but they are the crème de la crème from what I have experienced thus far.

Man, I fly up and down the stairs right now thanks to the technique learned. Shhh, don't tell my therapist, but I do now take two steps at a time going down the stairs. From the medical staff to the therapists, the team was A+++. There seems to be a culture of service at the company that carries through everyone. I'm missing all of these people asking me how everything is going and if I need anything at home. I may even have to admit I enjoyed the 7:00 am therapy sessions (I'm not a morning person). Only observation was that as a diabetic the food was a tiny bit challenging. The team however was always ready to replace a dish if needed.

My husband called for Ensure protein drink 7 times in one day because he never received it, even though they said, "I'll be right back." His kidney doctor had recommended it but apparently his opinion didn't matter. I went to King Sooper and bought some and put it in a cooler full of ice and took it to him. When we left to bring him home, an RN hooked him up to the portable oxygen tank...... and never turned the oxygen ON. He rode for half an hour home with zero oxygen. By the time we got home, he nearly collapsed in the garage with his walker, trying to get in the house. It isn't like this was just any old business this is supposed to be a HEALTH CARE facility. No one seems to know what anyone else is doing. Patients are told that there concerns and questions will be answered but no one ever gets back to them or followed up on. I would recommend anyone looking for a rehab facility to look elsewhere, this was not a good choice.

He saw her knee issues immediately and knew how to treat her. He also saw my sister and diagnosed her with a few things that she was able to work on when she went home to NY. Also I reread my last review and should probably mention that the surgeon giving me a hard time about not working harder would not recognize that it is VERY hard to work on a muscle group when it is consistently in pain and swollen. Since Ghazi figured out my issues I have been an avid pickleballer - playing 2-5 hours a day 5-7 days a week. Naturally because of two surgeries on that knee (ACL and Meniscus) I still have issues but nothing that a little bit of stretching, red light, and other regenerative modalities can't help address. Ghazi literally saved my life - he gave me back my ability to be active again!

My previous review was for their rehab area of care. This is for a tour/eval of their memory care…read morearea of care. The memory care is a smaller, more intimate set if rooms (14?). There is one room which is a double (less per individual cost), but the rest are single, private rooms. What makes this a charm of a place that the care givers seem really engaged in the resident and resident's family. A good set of events and comradery of residents was very evident. When we visited, an ice cream social just ended and most all of the residents were outside enjoying it. It was a super warm environment and felt like all were part of a bigger Brookdale GV (Greenwood Village) family. The room we saw had a bathroom with a shower. As with other places, you furnish your own room with your own items (bed, dresser, etc). On the down side, the single room was smaller than what was being looked for and did not include a refrigerator nor kitchen/sink area. There is also a non-refundable initial fee which makes it difficult to chose their place with enough confidence that you are sure it is a match before you try it. Their memory care area is in the first floor in the same building as their rehab. Their Assisted Living is in a separate building across the parking lot.

I truly believe…read moremy dad would still be alive had we not put him in this place for 7 days for rehab to get home after a hospital stay. I met him there the day he was transferred from the hospital. I immediately called and texted pics to my brother and said I don't have a good feeling about this, he's going to fall! I prayed I was being overly worried but sure enough the first night he fell & there after he fell at least once a day sometimes 2 or 3 times.. every time I went in the nurse would say he fell again, that's if a nurse made an appearance. I asked what they could do about it?! he came there for rehab. He hadn't walked in 3 weeks prior and was there to get his strength back.. and they just let him do what he wanted. I asked can they move rooms different bed any options?! all they would say is oh , we can't restrain him. Yes, I'm aware of that. I said I didn't ask you to restrain him. I said he is falling! What can we do? Of course I got the cold shoulder like why is this woman asking us questions? I would love to see it if it was their parents in there how they would act! And I was being calm. I hope they would be advocating for their person. And the sad part about it is every complaint and worry I had, came true. He fell more times than days he was there and was actually sent to another hospital for one of the falls with over 20 stitches in his leg, then back to BROOKDALE against all of our wishes then, while we were frantically looking for a place to transfer him, they sent him back to the original hospital by ambulance a few days later saying that my dad was being 'combative and confused' Of course he was! He was so severely dehydrated the ER said his kidneys were shutting down and the Dr at ER said that it looks like my dad was disheveled and severely dehydrated, thinking he had come from home. I told them no he has just come from a Brookdale! They couldn't believe it. So much so I pleaded with them to not send him back there and they agreed and admitted him back at the hospital. I watched him get 4L of fluid in the ER at and come back to life again within an hour.. He fought hard & lived another 10 days but never recovered from all that and passed away at the hospital. He missed his first grandchild's first Christmas. I wish someone would've warned us. I was there every day and I couldn't do anything about it except try to transfer him out of there, but it was too late. I wish I would've listened to my gut and took him that very first day put him in my car and went back to the hospital. He didn't fall once while he was in the hospital and he was in the hospital a total of 20+ days.
