Daily Stone Creek offers numerous activities and often brings in entertainment so Mom can interact with other residents. She is never lonely! This review is based on visits and tours made there to check out what they are all about. Michelle is likely your first point of contact since she is, I believe, the Director of "Sales and Marketing" (?). Kara I believe works for her and fills in for Michelle when needed. Both are fabulous, but Michelle really knows her stuff and understands what needs to be done if you are thinking of being part of their community. The place itself is really nice and elegant, with lots of energy and positive activities. Beautiful walking area outside for memory care residents. Trails right outside to walk, are abundant and also very nice as you walk thru the park right there/golf course. Different sized Rooms make up assisted living (AL) --studio, 1 BR, 2 BR. Memory care (MC) only has 2 sizes of studios--385 and 520 sq feet. The views you have contribute to the price as well. They also have Assisted Living with their Essentials support, provides a bridge between AL and MC. Food is pretty nice. Heritage week was being offered where unique foods from other areas around the world were being featured. Service was pretty great. Kind, compassionate when talking to residents. Beautiful set-up with dishes being offered on display as you walk in. Love the front desk team. All super nice and energetic. Very knowledgable and helpful. A nice sized theater for movies. Arts and crafts room. Library space. Outside deck/seats and tables with a very calming and beautiful view. Exercise class in the morning and other activities throughout the day. Live music/happy hour. Super fun all around. If you are looking for a super nice place where your loved one will be well taken care of, and feel safe and happy, this is your place.

From the moment we walked into Cherry Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care (CHAL), we knew it was special. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the staff truly seemed to care about the residents. My aunt moved in about a year ago, and it was a huge adjustment - she had been living independently and had no plans to move. The team at CHAL went above and beyond to help her settle in and feel comfortable in her new home. They were patient, kind, and always took the time to make sure she was doing okay. Now, a year later, she's happy and thriving. She enjoys the staff and the beautiful facility. It's such a relief knowing she's well cared for and surrounded by people who genuinely care about her. We're so grateful to everyone at CHAL for making what started as a stressful transition into such a positive experience. I can't recommend them enough!

I had a client there several years ago, and I have never been so disgusted by what I saw, experienced, or felt. Maybe things are different now, but back then, it was really bad. What I saw: the residents at that time, were not supervised by staff when I was there, and were literally banging their walkers into each other. As they got more and more agitated, I chose to step in since no one else was around to. The residents were up wandering around at all hours of the night, and seemed to be free to go in each other's rooms; I, myself, witnessed other Brookdale inhabitants in my client's room. Some of her personal items turned up missing, and management couldn't account for either the missing items or intrusions; despite repeated requests, they did nothing about either. What I experienced: 99% of the time when I arrived, the residents were pounding on the locked door and shouting "get me out;" when I opened the door, they would rush me and try to leave. I I would do my best to stop them, but couldn't alone control disorderly dementia invalids who nearly bowled me over as I tried to get to my client. Once again, there was no staff in sight. What I felt: my stomach was in knots and I was constantly worried about my client...about her safety, health and welfare. We chose to move her to a different facility where she thrived. Interestingly enough, a staff member from Brookdale predicted that my client would get "kicked out" of any establishment for her behaviors. Instead, she did better than ever. It goes to show that positive attitudes, patience, understanding and staff members who are there can change anything

My 91-y/o Dad was placed in RMAL at the Quincy/Wadsworth location on October 10th. Long-time Alzheimer's patient who had recently been subject to too many falls to safely be kept at home any more. RMAL came to us highly recommended for his well-being and care. We in no way blame them for his quick passing, but instead the heartless lack of respect he received AFTER his death, and their callous lack of compassion for us, his family. Dad passed early in the morning of October 13th. He was left to lay on the floor, completely bare save for a diaper, and uncovered for at least an hour after he was attended to by paramedics. ON THE FLOOR - UNCOVERED!! WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF HIS PASSING, and my brother found him on a video camera inside the room. Upon his calling the home himself, he was told, "Sorry, he's gone". Upon arrival at the facility within 40 min., he found Dad on the floor, in aforementioned condition, and covered him himself with his comforter. NO CALLS to my Mom or either of us children listed as emergency contacts. NOT ONE. And my Dad ON THE FLOOR, LEFT BARE AND UNCOVERED, FOR AN HOUR. Three days later, upon our arrival to remove belongings, we walked in to all his sheets laying crumpled in the middle of the bed, filled with his BODILY FLUIDS. NOT BAGGED - JUST LAYING ON THE MIDDLE OF THE BED (he had obviously been placed back on the bed after my brother left, at some point before the mortuary arrived - no coroner arrived to pronounce him, either). STILL no calls from anyone at the facility, THREE DAYS AFTER THE FACT. They chose to correspond only via text message. UNBAGGED, BIO-HAZARDOUS WASTE MATERIALS left in a room of a nursing home filled with other patients, for THREE DAYS! We were charged with removing the soiled sheets ourselves. Horrific treatment of my beloved Dad and the family who cared for him. They blamed the paramedics for zero phone calls. RMAL collected their fees and THEY were responsible for calling to let us know. They were also charged with caring for my Dad when we couldn't be there (we had been at the facility with him for 8 hours each of the three days he was there). NO COMPASSION OR DIGNITY WAS SHOWN TO THIS SWEET MAN! If I can save ONE person from this heartbreak in the future, it will be my life's goal from here on out!

A few days later I saw their several 1 star reviews here on Yelp all disappear and only 2 reviews remained. One 1 star and one 5 star. The 1 stars consistently had a theme of being overcharged or charged for things that never performed. So when setting up the paperwork for their services I made sure it was not on auto payment. To dis-incentivize from paying by check they required some crazy amount upfront as a deposit. Check was the preferred payment but they have a $150 service fee to even start service. They insisted it be paid before anything started, like they didn't trust me to pay it, and offered check and credit cards as payment options. I offered to meet her with the check the morning of the first day of service, but she couldn't meet so i offered to pay by credit card, but to please send me an invoice or request for payment for the $150 (assumably with info of how to provide the credit card payment). After thinking about it more, paying by credit card seemed safer since I saw there were so many issues with others paying for services not executed, but she refused to send an "invoice" and after which she said what was requested is not in their scope. I asked specifically what was not in scope but several months later and still no response. Each Visiting Angels is a franchise so you will get totally different teams with each location. I remember years ago they were so messed up they didn't even return calls for a long time, and when they did they were still super disorganized. I hope if in my lifetime I get a visiting angel some day, that it isn't a revenue driven one, which is the opposite of what an angel is all about. Some may have great experiences with them, but just the upfront process of them being super nice sales people quickly turned into craziness on a dime. Perhaps I dodged a bullet and just saved myself a huge nightmare of a future situation. So perhaps I should feel very lucky. I honestly, with two different bad situations, think this organization is off my list for any considerations ever, and recommend you dig further to ensure they are a "match" for what you are looking for. At $60/an hour for custom care (-at a facility) vs your home) and $47/hr for in home companionship, they seem a bit pricey to me since none are skilled and am sure many are not US Citizens. Wonder if my review will disappear too?
