Such a fun little bar. After going through the gift shop upstairs make your way downstairs to the bar. This was my second time stopping in here. They rotate the cocktail drinks to fit a holiday theme. Drinks are very well made and had great flavors. Our group got the charcuterie board that was a good mix of cheeses and meats. It was a good value for the price. If you are in the area definitely check it out.

Somerset School house, would be best described as a quaint place in the middle of Paola as HomeGoods + Boozy Coffee Shop = had a baby with a Speakeasy Bar in the basement. And their fun aunt is down the street called Somerset winery. We checked out this place because I've been curious of coming for a quite some time, but never seem to have the best opportunity until tonight. Definitely not disappointed, we ordered from the speakeasy bar the following drinks iced - Faculty Lounge Latte - vanilla, cinnamon, honey, espresso - Nutty Professor - bailevs, espresso, Irish cream syrup, vanilla almond milk - Schoolbus - (iced cinnamon bourbon) bourbon, espresso, cinnamon vanilla This place is dog friendly, but they're not allowed inside the building due to food being served inside. They have a patio area with lawn games and a fire pit to sit around and chill with friends or family.

First off, I should have written this review almost a year and a half ago (Meaning this place is so…read morewonderful that I am writing this review almost a year and a half later at 6am...which should tell you something). Now that the cat's out of the bag, I would just like to say that TJ and the staff were absolutely wonderful!!! My (Now) wife and I could not have asked for a better venue nor staff. They worked with us in every aspect possible...even when they didn't have to. The venue is gorgeous, and I'm sure that anyone who tours this place will have quickly already deduced that information...so let me address some of the concerns I had (And how they were addressed). We wanted Jack Stack (the BBQ place down the street was even better. We were worried 2 hrs of alcoholic drinks wasn't going to be enough For our guests. The bar downstairs was so large and so well stocked people didn't have a problem getting what they needed. I was worried it was too far from downtown (and I mean really worried)...the drive was not a problem for my family (all from out of town)...moreover, they all said it was completely worth it and the venue was excellent. My wife was a little anxious at times...TJ and his staff took care of it. It truly was exactly the wedding I wanted and at times didn't even know how to plan. Bottom line: If you choose this place, you will get a top notch staff with a top tear aesthetic for a reasonable price. If you have only considered venues downtown and Ruled this venue out because of the distance (which is exactly what I did)...don't ...at the very least take a tour of the location. I'll bet you will fall in love with both the staff and the venue. ...Just my 2 cents

No, Swordfish Tom's is only serving up handcrafted cocktails, and generally off of their particularly killer menu. Drinks are artisanal, they take a little extra time to prepare, and they are absolutely smashing! Owner Jill has all the talents with both mixology and design and the unique taste comes through each time. Hoist your drink and find a comfy seat, or maybe a dimly lit corner table just for two. Just know that it is CASH ONLY (and there is an ATM on site) and the drinks will run you upwards of $15 or so. Each one is very well worth it, and you're there for a specific ambience, so pony up and enjoy. If you don't know that the entrance is in the alley off of 19th, then you will miss it altogether. The bar is downstairs and a speakeasy feel, with the entrance being in an alley. It feels hidden! There are paintings of nautical creatures/ animals on the walls as you're entering. The space itself is smaller, and from what I've been told they do a great job on regulating crowd size with their wait area. They have very specific craft cocktails. While they didn't have a traditional dirty martini that I enjoy, the bartender recommended something and offered to remake it for me if I didn't enjoy it. It's a really unique space that anyone would enjoy- definitely check it out.

I've heard about this place, but I avoided it until recently, opting for either Omaha Cigar or Safari, both great Omaha establishments. I was content to smoke on my back patio by myself, but a good friend asked me to join him and I agreed. First off, it's a cool building with a lot of history. It used to be a garage, probably built in the 1910's or 20's, so very rustic. The owners put a lot of thought into it, from the specially made leather chairs, some huge, some diminutive so you don't have to feel like you're in one of those chairs at Silver Dollar City that everybody gets their picture taken in, to the special glass, HVAC, Humidor, etc... you can tell this was a labor of love. Secondly, the service is excellent! From the tobacco experts that will guide you through the humidor to the people who work in the 2 attached establishments. There is a speakeasy next-door, just pick up the phone at the front door, say "Joe sent me" and you are allowed into one of the finest drinking establishments in the 5 county metro, replete with all of your favorite beers and craft cocktails that are out of this world! Then, you have the Bellows, an outdoor, intimate music venue that sports 2 firepits, a stage, heaters for those cold nights, and plenty of seating. I was lucky enough to find out about an event that they were having with Toscano Cigars, where for a paltry sum we were treated to the history of that company, a package of cigars, cutters, lighters, and some great Italian food. Then we watched the full length version of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It was an event to remember. After my 3rd visit, I realized that this is a family. People from all walks of life are regulars and they're all friendly. I think that their motto should be "Where everybody knows your brand

Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.
