What an absolute gem of a restaurant. We have eaten here for lunch two of our three days in Stilwell, working with teachers at Maryetta School. Yesterday I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich and my spouse had the Indian taco. Both were delicious. Today we're both going with burgers. Their fried pies look amazing, and this place has been packed each day! Hardly an open seat available, always a good sign. The food is fresh and delicious. Unsweet iced tea for us both days. Can't speak highly enough of this place; if you come to Stilwell, you've got to eat here! Come here early and beat the lunch crowd if you can, parking can be sparse during peak hours. read more

Deep South has Changed Somethin Sweet for the better. They have fixed up the parking. Expanded the menu! Our Food came out hot. It was a little bit of a wait because they were so busy. BUYER BEWARE The food quality and prices fluctuate! I have had good meals and bad meals from this place. Unfortunately, I have more bad than good. I have two different experiences below detailing their service. Experience #1 I once ordered a baked potato, which is a pretty simple order. I would like to ask you be for I got any further, how is it even possible to mess up a baked potato??? Anyway, I ordered a baked potato to-go and when I got home and opened my to go box it was literally a pile of uncooked warm potato chunks. There was no potato skin at all and it kind of just looked like they microwaved some leftover potato scraps from other meals. Most of the potatoes were pretty hard and only a few pieces on top were a bit soft. Cost: $6 Food: very bad Services: I have had worse (see below) Experience #2 I another time I ordered a steak that took over an hour to be delivered to my table! They then had the nerve to charge me $25 or their awful service. I will say to their credit the steak was pretty good but that is not the way to treat customers. I would've at least apologized an given a paying customer a discount if was unable to cook a steak in less then an hour. Cost $25 Food: Pretty good Services: Horrible FLUCTUATING PRICES You remember that potato I mentioned above? I hope you do or you might want to get your memory checked by a doctor. Anyway, I order 2 baked potatoes for me and my wife and it cost us $16. The quick-minded of you out there might say wait how does 2 x $6 = $16? Unfortunately, this is not uncommon! You can order almost any item from the menu and the price they charge you will be completely different in a few days. This makes it very hard to plan any meal if you have a budget. I once saw a man refuse to pay because they tried to charge him nearly double what the price was on the menu. I've also noticed that if the old lady that runs the place checks you out she ads a few bucks to the ticket. If her daughter ain't at the cash register I suggest you just walk right back out the door. IN CLOSING If the owners read this please don't act childish like you have towards others that have criticized you and your establishment. You should take this criticism and try to improve your business. I'll give you credit where credit is due, you make good food (usually) but your quality of your service and your prices are very random. I no longer have a desire to dine at your establishment. I'm not alone on this either I've heard and had discussions with quite a few other people who have had similar experiences at your establishment. I hope you do better and win back all your lost customers one day. One last thing to the old lady that runs the place. Don't be greedy your old and you cant take it with you. read more

This is another fine down home cookin piece of Americana. The special of the day when we went was Meatloaf served home style with mashed potatoes n gravy. I had the ole fashioned burger and it was served in a basket with a good portion of fries. To top off our visit we order a fried pie. They were highly recommend by the very friendly staff. I had a cherry pie with a side of ice cream. Between the four of us we had a chocolate, strawberry, banana creme and cherry pies. These pies are not some frozen item that's tossed in a microwave. If you have to drive hours out of your way to hit this tiny jewel, it is well worth it!! I worked with a local school for three days and hit this place all three days!! I don't like fried pies, but I took four home to Norman! The owner is AMAZING and gave my kids ice cream cones while we waited. Love this place and will definitely make a special trip back soon!! The food here is just ok. Their fry bread for the Indian Tacos are nothing but grease sponges, the French fries are always soggy and greasy, and the catfish I had there was nothing but little pieces of fish with way too much and overcooked batter. The hamburgers are good and their fried pies are good. Their pricing is a little on the ridiculous side, however. I once bought two single scoop servings of ice cream and it was a whole $10.....for a single scoop of ice cream in a small cup. read more

I have been in this place numerous times and food is always OK for what you can get in Stilwell. Today we stopped in for lunch and I ordered the Indian Taco. Huge mistake! The food was awful! Absolutely no taste. The "taco" meat was plain hamburger meat. No flavor, no salt and no taco seasoning. It actually looked like it had been sitting in water and was water logged. The beans also had no seasoning. No salt or flavor at all. The fry bread was soggy with grease. Tasted like a pancake mix or baking mix that was dropped into a vat of deep fryer grease! Horrible!!! So I sent it back and requested the menu to order something else. The waitress brought me a menu and then refused to even look back at our table. In the mean time my hubby had finished his burger and most of his fries. I called her back over and ordered a burger which was better. But again, no salt or seasoning on the meat. So I kept getting the stink eye from all of the staff in the place. I guess they are not accustomed to having someone send back food....when we got ready to check out they had charged me for both the hamburger and the Indian taco. My husband was a little taken aback and asked her about it and her exact words..."I've sold those all day, there was absolutely nothing wrong with that taco. Just because you don't like the food doesn't mean I have to take it off your bill!" I was in shock. I told her that i didnt ask her to take it off but it was not "fine", the meat was plain and bland and soggy, the bread was full of grease and it was quite frankly tasteless. Again she told me that just because I didn't like it she wouldn't take it off. She then told me that I had "let it sit for a long time" before I touched it. Because I had my work computer out finishing an email when they set it before me. She continued to get more angry. She then stated "it is an Indian taco, it's not supposed to be dry". I then told her not to worry about it and there was no need to get hateful and rude with me, that it was just not good. I can tell you that that little $8 Indian taco ended up costing her a lot more than it will ever cost me because she lost a costumer for life! You do not treat your customer base like that. Regardless of whether you agree with their critique of your food or not, you smile and apologize and comp their meal! That is what keeps people coming back. I don't care if you have the best food in the world, if you have poor customer service you don't get a 2nd chance with me! The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the onion rings were really good and the service was quick. Will never be going back here again!!! read more

Not much to look at on the outside ,nor the location, but wow was it good food. We had a little bit of everything. The kids liked it, so something was right( picky eaters they are). Of course the fried pies and ice cream was a hit. Very nice workers and atmosphere. We will be back soon. Also portions are large , and they have something for everyone.
