Fast forward a month, we received an email from Tom on 3/22/2020 asking for a service agreement document to be signed. Because we did not respond with a signed document within 72 hours (3/25/2020), Tom refunded our money saying it was a business risk. Unbelievable. My building had to tear into a large main wall to see where the water was coming from and if mold had grown within the wall. I was devastated. I went to stay with family while the work was being done, knowing full well I'd be coming home to a major mess I wasn't prepared to deal with. Patrick to the rescue! I called him while the work was being done. He told me to let him know as soon as the work was completed, and he'd be happy to do a walkthrough for me and squeeze me in so I could get home ASAP. He went to my apartment with his assistant and filmed the walkthrough and sent me the videos. It wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be, but it was still a job that would be too much for me to handle on my own. I knew if I hired Patrick, I could just walk back into my apartment as though nothing had happened. And that is EXACTLY what happened! He spent 1 full day and a morning cleaning the place from top to bottom. Everything was put back precisely according to pictures. I had done a lot of covering of closets, etc., because I was scared my building wouldn't do an adequate job. We had left it that he would check whether or not the inside of closets or cabinets needed to be done once he started the job. He was honest and told me those areas were in great shape; no need for him to add on extra work & extra cost. Not many people would be so honest. Patrick is a gem who knows his business. As a client of MaidStay's for more than a year, I was never notified that they were shutting down. I only found out because the housekeeper I regularly requested contacted me on the side, and I was able to stop my recurring payments. She has also shared that even to this day (July 2022), they have not paid her for the final cleanings she did for the company.
