Mismatched chairs, harsh fluorescence lighting and eating amongst the storage. You get to sit at counter or tables and watch your food being prepared and the dishes being washed. Both guys are very nice..but NOT brothers! morning If you want to get a taste to Korean. Ok, they use gochujang (I call this Korean spicy ketchup. ) I ordered bibimbop as was recommended by the cook. My fried egg was over cooked as I think requesting a runny egg was lost in translation and he gave me a fried YOLK egg. Cooked all the way. The ban Chan mixture of different Korean veggies was just okay. I miss a good ole fermented or spicy versions of kimchee. Also, I thought the rice became too mushy and some bits of the thinly slice beef was too tough or inedible. I did decide to get the chicken wings and was recommended the dakganjeong ( Korean sweet chili spices) wings. (I asked for extra chili powder on side to make more spicy...given on request). I did like the chicken wings. Nice crispy crust. Just not spicy enough with using gochujang they are serving. Would I stop by again... maybe for the wings.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This place might be a hole in the wall, but it is off the hook!…read moreThe restaurant is inside a Korean grocery store, so it's easy to miss. Not enough seating area, so you'd be lucky if you can get a table. My friends brought me here because they said it was good, so I decided to try it. My friend Marvin got the Mussel soup, and it was huge! I tried a little bit of it, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Dosirak, and it was pretty good. I didn't eat the rice though, nor the little dessert that came with it. I only ate the Salmon, Soup, and Veggies and still filled me up! Very satisfying dinner.

This spot was quite a distance away from my hotel, but I really fancied a cozy night in (and wanted…read morea change from all the pizza and pub food I had eaten over the week). After looking at their glowing Google reviews, I decided to order via UberEats for a late-night bite. I will note that the restaurant had my order ready quite quickly, and it arrived piping hot despite the weather being rainy and cold. We were certainly off to a great start there :) I was conflicted on what to order and ended up getting way too much food for 1 person. I got the Dakgangjeong Bento Box ($16) - crispy chicken in a sticky and sweet sauce, and edamame, purple rice, and seaweed salad on the side AND a Bulgogi Futomaki Gimbap ($15) roll with sauteed beef, crab, radish, etc. There were SO many pieces in the Bulgogi roll that it had to be separated into 2 containers. A seriously massive portion for the price. For the $31 I spent, I could have easily fed 3 people. Great value for the price, top-notch ingredients, quick service, and great presentation. Would definitely recommend!

After looking at the menu, we got the following: - Bulgogi - Kimchi Chigae(zigae) - Beef Chapchae(japchae) - Kimchi - Ssam Our favorite was the chopchae. The noodle was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The bulgogi, could use more seasoning, it was bit chewy for us. Don't get the kimchi chigae, lacked that "kimchi chigae" flavor, lot of veggies, minimal kimchi. The thing I didn't get... we ordered in Korean, they responded in English... but when they spoke to each other, they spoke Korean.... what gives?

Overall the food was enjoyable! I absolutely loved the oysters. The mignonette was to die for and was a unique spin I hadn't had before. It felt like an oyster shooter, which made the value seem all the better. For our main course we split the sushi for two platter. It had sashimi, a few different roll options, and nigiri as well. The classics were great, and the rolls were interesting! The only thing I didn't love was the mayo on the tuna roll. Aside from the food, the service was a bit mixed. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic, but service was a bit slow and there had been items added on our bill that we didn't order. Easily fixed, but that took a bit more time. If you want a solid sushi dinner though, I definitely recommend eating here!

So it should come at no surprise that after 2 days of eating nothing but traditional Irish cuisine, my Asian food cravings started to set in. Walking down the streets of Dublin on a Wednesday night, we saw like 15 people enter the Ukiyo Bar at the same time and wondered what al the fuss was about, so we went in. I am so so glad that we did! The menu was priced perfectly for the quality and quantity of food you're served. The food was also super fresh! We ordered the Gyoza, the ramen and the kimchi fried rice. Every dish was jam-packed with fresh veggies and the perfect amount of spice. I was in heaven! Ordered a table sake and a Sapporo that were also really enjoyable. I would recommend Ukiyo Bar to locals and tourists in the Dublin area. Loved it!
