This stop was intended but a quick drink before dinner. We stayed so long and enjoyed so many appetizers it just became dinner and drinks. There was an activity for kids while we were there. Arts and crafts designed to give the parents some free time. Definitely worth it so the kids got to have fun as well. The staff here were all so friendly and experienced with the drinks. They made the most amazing cocktails that made working a little hard. I took quite a few calls on the patio. The night was cold but it was a very relaxing place to sit and enjoy the view.

We visited Song Dog Farm Distillery for a birthday celebration and had such a great time. The setting alone is worth the trip. It has a beautiful farm atmosphere with open space, outdoor seating around fire pits, and views that make you want to slow down and enjoy the day. The space felt very welcoming and family friendly. We didn't have children in our group, but there were several families there enjoying the afternoon together, which added to the relaxed and community feel of the place. The food was simple but really good. The spinach dip was warm, cheesy, and perfect with the toasted bread, and the hummus was fresh and delicious as well. We brought our own birthday cake to celebrate, which the staff had no problem accommodating and it made the gathering feel even more special. The drinks were great too. I highly recommend the Bees Knees if you visit. There is also an outside bar, which made things very convenient when our group grew larger and we decided to move outside and enjoy the weather. A huge shoutout to Seth, who took care of our table. He was incredibly personable, attentive, and made everyone feel genuinely welcome. His energy really added to the experience and helped make the celebration feel easy and fun. It was about an hour drive for us, but the trip was smooth since the local roads aren't congested. Just watch out for the speed cameras in the residential neighborhoods on the way in. Overall, I would definitely recommend Song Dog Farm Distillery for a quick, cute weekend visit, especially if you are looking for a relaxed spot to gather with friends and enjoy the scenery.

This is my new quiet oasis just 40 min from dc. Lovely staff and great snacks. Parking is good and they have a good food truck. Check them out!

Song Dog Distillery isn't just a place you visit, it's a whole experience you feel. From the moment we walked in, the customer service set the tone. Warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to have us there. The kind of hospitality that makes you relax your shoulders and stay a little longer than planned. The space itself is a vibe. Lush greenery, serene energy, and just enough buzz to make it feel alive without being overwhelming. Whether you're sipping intentionally or just there for the atmosphere, it works. This is the kind of spot you bring your friends to and somehow end up laughing louder, talking longer, and forgetting the time. Now let's talk food because it deserves its own moment. Every bite was thoughtful, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Nothing felt rushed or thrown together. It paired perfectly with the drinks without trying to compete for attention. Balanced, satisfying, and honestly impressive. And the drinks? Crafted, not poured. Our bartender went above and beyond, creating a custom blueberry lemonade with rhubarb syrup that was ridiculously refreshing. Bright, smooth, and not overly sweet. Proof that you don't have to be a heavy drinker to have an incredible time here. Song Dog Distillery is where great service, good food, and an unforgettable atmosphere meet. Games to play, space to unwind, and a team that truly knows how to host. This is a must-visit, whether you're celebrating something special or just want an unexpectedly good time.

This was 10/10 experience! I cannot stop raving about my time at Song Dog. My cousin and Mom took the drive out to Boyds to check out the new distillery. My Dad could not make it but we are definitely going back so he can try out the flights! Matt , Dre and Patrick were SO sweet and kind! Matt gave us the guided tasting of the flight and it was such a great session! They have small bites so definitely get the spinach dip! It was delicious. From guided tastings and small bites to a behind-the-scenes distillery tour and fireside lounging, every detail was top tier. We loved it so much we left with three bottles Highlight of the flights (% from the website because I couldn't remember): Straight Bourbon Whiskey -- 47% alc/vol Straight Rye Whiskey -- 47% alc/vol Gin -- 40% alc/vol | 100% grain neutral spirits Vodka -- 40% alc/vol | distilled from grain Rock & Rye -- 35% alc/vol Laughing Fox Coffee Liqueur -- 25% alc/vol -- this was my favorite. I cannot wait to go back!

I had a great time at their Grand Opening. It's a chill spot with plenty of parking (in the grass mostly). They sell cocktails and bottles of their liquor. The bottles they had were Vodka, Gin, Rye, Bourbon, Rock & Rye, and Coffee Liqueur. Their cocktails included: Song Dog Old Fashioned Rock N' Rye Penicillin Chamomile Bee's Knees Espresso Martini Hibiscus Highball Amazon Spritz I enjoyed the Hibiscus Highball - slightly tart, but a smooth drink. Some folks next to me said they enjoyed their Old Fashioned and the Bee's Knees. I'll have to try the Chamomile Bee's Knees on my next visit, as I kept overhearing many people ordering it that day. Great turnout of folks. Next time I am in the vicinity, I'll probably pass through Song Dong. Enjoyed a tour of their place.

Song Dog Farm Distillery is Montgomery County's brand-new destination distillery. It's set on 29 scenic acres of the Agricultural Reserve. This stunning distillery includes a tasting room and cocktail bar perfect for sipping, relaxing, and connecting. Huge thanks to owner and conservation ecologist Megan Draheim and the entire team for the private tour and warm hospitality during our hosted @dmvdoes visit. The sustainably built distillery produces bourbon, rye, gin, vodka, liqueurs, and ready-to-pour cocktails right on-site. We sampled their Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Straight Rye Whiskey and Gin. We enjoyed the Song Dog Old Fashioned, Rock N' Rye, Chamomile Bee's Knees, and a refreshing Blueberry Lemonade. We also grabbed sliders, fries, and tots from DMV slider which was the featured food truck on site. This family- and dog-friendly space features indoor and outdoor bars, rotating food trucks, live music, and plenty of room for over 100 guests to gather and unwind. I really enjoyed spending my time there. I can't wait to come back.

This review has taken me so long to write because there was a lot I enjoyed about Song Dog. Megan and her husband are the owners of this grain to glass distillery that opened two weeks ago in Boyds, MD. Where's Boyds you ask? It's on the south side of Little Seneca Lake and west of Germantown. They take pride in using all Maryland products to create their four different spirits: vodka, bourbon, gin, and rye whiskey. They also offer seasonal cocktails and all come in gorgeous keepsake bottles with beautiful artwork. Every aspect was carefully chosen to display their spirits. I first sampled their Rock & Rye which is a bottled cocktail that has history back so far that when it was explained to me I instantly remembered my mom telling stories of her mom using it as cough syrup back in th day. I knew I was going home with a bottle before trying anything else. My group was treated to a tour and Megan who owns the farm with her husband provided a lot of detail about their process from the beginning with crop selection through the end with different types of aging in muti levels of char. We met their pot still named Carl who is gorgeous and shiny before we toured the barrel room which stores some barrels from when they first started in 2020. Inside their tasting room you're able to sample, purchase, and order their spirits in bottles, merch, or cocktail form. I chose the amaro spirit, since your girl loves a good amaro, and it was the perfect sip for a cool October evening outside. Fun Fact: I learned that all gin has to made with juniper berries! I had no idea. I've always shyed away from gin after hearing crazy hangover stories fun friends. The bottle is stunning and when I smelled it **** I could not believe all of the floral notes it contained. I was extremely excited to try it and couldn't stop myself from smelling it over and over. Only trusting Song Dog's gin. Do you see how gorgeous it looks at night?! The ambiance was everything you'd want in a distillery. If you're doggie's well behaved, they can come too. They have different food trucks each week and when we were there, DM Sliders provided food for the crowd who have a perm location on Sugar Loaf. I'll leave that review on their page. Overall, Song Dog Farm Distillery has a lot to offer and is a great spot to enjoy a fall day.

So excited to have this new farm distillery close by! We stopped in during their opening weekend and had a great time sampling their spirits (the person doing the tasting was so helpful) and enjoyed some delicious cocktails (in particular the rye old fashioned). I loved that they are dog friendly and tasting room is really nice with a beautiful cocktail bar and plenty of outdoor seating! Pretty sure we are on our way to becoming regulars!

Super friendly staff! I did all 6 tasting (whiskey, bourbon, gin, vodka, Café liquor and old fashioned mix) everything was great and they pour you generous samples , did tour very cool place! Bought a bottle old fashioned mix so I just need to add ice and enjoy at home! We also got Bee's Knees cocktail to drink at the bar, beautiful inside and outside seating only one thing I wish their cocktail drinks a little bigger size !

I coordinated logistics with Melissa, the director of special events, who was professional, attentive, and quick to respond to the many questions I had leading up to our office retreat. Since we were using the boardroom for work on our laptops, we didn't have space to order food, but my colleagues did order beverages. Our server checked on us frequently, refilled our water, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the retreat. My only critique is that the boardroom occasionally got loud due to staff running up and down the stairs or noise from the level above. Melissa suggested in lieu of ordering food during our retreat, to transition into the Speakeasy upstairs afterwards. She connected me with Brian, the general manager, who reserved a table for us and helped coordinate our appetizers pre‑order. I requested that the appetizers be ready at 6 p.m. for our reservation, and they were waiting for us when we arrived. We enjoyed flatbreads, sliders, and charcuterie boards--my favorite was the chicken sliders. We had a lovely time with great food, drinks, company, and excellent service from start to finish.

The free popcorn still isn't good or all that enjoyable, service can be hit or miss, drinks are expensive, and the food is very good. The Reston location does have plenty of large TVs, making it a solid place to catch a game. This was a guys' night out for food and drinks, but it's probably not going to become a regular meetup spot when a couple of easy changes could make a big difference. First, get rid of the popcorn, it's honestly laughable. Second, bring the drink prices down. A Wild Turkey and Coke shouldn't cost $14. We started with something to share. My biggest concern was value for the price, and the menu only had a few appetizers that felt both shareable and reasonably priced. The Bavarian Pretzel was good, although I wasn't a fan of the mustard dip. At $10, it's a decent value for two or three people. The chili nachos were tasty, but $18 is just too much for what you get. Even if they doubled the chips and chili, I'd still think they were overpriced by a couple of dollars. I'll definitely give them credit for the entrées. On my last visit I had the jambalaya, which was excellent. This time I ordered the Peruvian-spiced half chicken, and it was fantastic. I ended up spending almost $100. I had a good time and enjoyed the food, but Open Road has moved into my "splurge" category rather than my monthly hangout spot. Our server may have been new because service was slow, and the kitchen was also taking a long time to get food out, especially for a Friday night. I'm giving the Reston location four stars, just like Arlington. The food was tasty, I had a good time, and I'd come back, ... but.... the little things, especially the drink prices, lopsided menu pricing, and inconsistent service, keep it from being one of my spontaneous go-to spots.

Stopped into True Standard Distilling during the Frederick St. Patty's Day bar crawl and the place was absolutely buzzing all day. As a rum distillery, everything on the cocktail menu leans rum which makes things interesting, especially when they remix classics that usually feature other spirits. I tried their take on a negroni and it was surprisingly really well done. It kept that familiar bitter and balanced profile but with a unique rum twist that made it stand out. The interior was unexpected but in a good way. They were still fully committed to a Valentine's Day theme with pink everywhere and a massive faux chocolate candy wall right when you walk in. It honestly felt like stepping into a mini Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which added a fun and memorable touch. Despite the crowd, service was quick and efficient.
