Celebrated my birthday here with friends yesterday. It was a really gorgeous day out and everyone had a great time! Reservations were made weeks ago because this place is quite popular. Please be mindful that parties of 9 or more require a $100 non-refundable fee (doesn't go toward the bill). They have alot of seating options! There's signs up saying that it's 21 and over but I did see a few strollers. Maybe it's different for private events?! Call ahead to find out! One great thing about this place is that they allow you to bring your own food! Many places don't. They also have a kitchen with a few options. It is a quite nice winery with good quality white wine. 1. Reservation: absolute must. You will not get a table otherwise. 2. Wine: 4 stars Quite good for this region. We have tried literally the entirety of the menu! I prefer their white wines and very crisp and current weather appropriate. They have a rule of 1 bottle per person only. If there are 5 of you and you want to buy 6 bottles, it will not work! 3. Food: they have very good warm bread, charcuterie, flatbreads and food options. They are quite good especially for a winery. 4. Interior is nice and simple. Outside seatings don't always have an umbrella, so make sure you clearly state it when you reserve. 5. My first visit to Windridge Winery was a great experience! It was a beautiful day and the atmosphere was perfect. The turkey sandwich was so delicious I wanted to come back the next day for another one. I'm not a big wine drinker, but Maria made me a blackberry drink that was amazing. I should have ordered three at a time so I didn't have to keep getting up from the table! Maria was so nice, and the presentation of the drink was beautiful. She made it perfectly. I took my mom here for her bday celebration and it was a big hit! What amazing customer service, our bartender gifted my mom a glass for her bday and we enjoy lots of the little bites. My parents and husband enjoyed the beautiful views and warm weather while we munched on charcuterie's, sourdough blt and pesto chicken sandwiches. We enjoyed the make your own mimosa option, and a flight of red wines so much we grabbed two more bottles of the "Old Line" - a yummy dessert wine. I've been a wine club member for years and usually pick up my allocations at the end of the year and give bottles as gifts. Sometimes, my wife and I can get out to enjoy ourselves and pick up an allocation to indulge in while visiting. Having a Vineyard a few miles from home is the bees knees. I recently spent a lovely Saturday afternoon at Windridge Vineyards with some of my family. Enjoyed a wine tasting on the outdoor patio and a great conversation with the bartender, who gave me a couple of free samples. The Albariño was my favorite--crisp, refreshing, and perfect for the day! I'm usually not a fan of Maryland wines because they are way too sweet but the wines at Windridge were right up my alley. If I could give any place of business 10 stars Windridge would win hands down! Bob and Lori were our tour guides and were phenomenal. Bob was very informative and NOT boring! He had great stories to tell, he was fun and lively and kept our attention as well as entertained all of our questions. Lori was very kind and we enjoyed hearing her favorite parts of working at the winery. We only had a charcuterie so I did not have any food from the menu, but I loved that they had a chili on the menu and I need to make it back for another visit while the weather still warrants a warm bowl! What an amazing vineyard. The scenery was beautiful. Its location is prime because it's about a 20 min drive from Gaithersburg and 35 min from Rockville. The wine was absolutely delicious. I had the pleasure to try the light bodied red wine which was rich in fruity flavors. The service was impeccable me. We were there for a private event and the staff were very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I genuinely enjoyed my experience. I will return soon to try some other wines. read more

Back in the fall of 2020, my wife (then fiancee) and I and our two friends came here to enjoy some wine with delicious sushi from Yuraku. The staff was friendly and were accommodating of the fact Yuraku was backlogged and running behind so we came later than our reservation when it was quite dark out. Came here during the day for a friend's birthday luncheon. The winery wasn't crowded and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We were a group of 10. It was a very relaxed vibe. They have a food truck on site that "caters" the food. The food was good. I liked everything except the tomato soup- that needed a little more seasoning. The wine was good. We just selected and purchased our own wine. It happened to be a windy day so we had to move the party indoors. Otherwise we definitely would have stayed outdoors since the views are really pretty. I don't drink but the group I came with does. I personally went for the view and the ambiance of Vineyards. I was pleasantly surprised to see the food trucks and places to sit with fire pits as it adds to hang out vibes a bit. To me this is a place to go to to enjoy some classy wine and hang with your friends with a beautiful view. They also have horses for you to spectate as well. I was amazed how much seating this place had and really like how it was broken up and there were different styles of seating. The views were also gorgeous. Additionally, I really liked that outside food was allowed. I've been to many where outside food is not allowed and this is not a con for me if outside food is not allowed, but I think it's a nice touch when a winery/vineyard who may only serve a limited menu allows outside food. My friends and I stopped at Gemelli's in Gaithersburg since it was on the way. We had been hearing good things about their pizza and they were really good! Should have taken more . When we got to Windridge, only a few people were there but by the time we left 2 hours later, it was packed!! Service was good and the team was nice. We sat outside in a covered area right where the band was performing. They started performing at the tail end of our time there, so glad we got to talk and hangout before that. Wine is served both inside and outside but when we arrived because it was still early, we had to order and collect our wine inside because the outside bar was closed. We didn't get any flights, just bought individual glasses and bottles. I got a glass of their port wine, which was delicious and at 19%, they do a smaller portion because of how strong it is. We got a bottle of their Riesling, Albariño, and I believe one of their Portrayal. All the wines were good! Will be back to also try their food next time and soak up the views more. read more

What a beautiful vineyard. I specifically chose this place to meet up with some friends because they're dog friendly. Their outdoor space is huge and has lots of available seating. Reservations were encouraged from their website so we made one for this past weekend. It was a crowded day given how nice the weather was so I'm glad we had our reservation. We all tried the wine flight selection. I just chose the Classic Flight which came with a white, a rosé, and a red. My favorite was the white - the 2023 Portrayal. My friends really enjoyed The Old Line and ended up getting a bottle of it to share. It's a dessert wine so it's sweet but it was delicious. My friends also brought some food for us to munch on which was really great. My dog loved being out here with us as did we. The service was friendly, views were great, and wine was pouring - can't complain about any of that! I'd definitely come back again as this was a great experience. read more

For just a bit further drive, coming to Windridge was worth it instead of visiting our usual wineries in Frederick, MD. Came here with a friend and I have to say I was quite impressed. Reservations were strongly encouraged. Their wines were all very good. The reds are Chambourcin heavy (which is not a personal favorite of mine but they were still good). You can do a tasting (set), flight (your choice), and glasses/bottles. They had a variety of snacks for purchase as well as a food truck, so there are some nice options for food. It looked like you could also bring your own food. The reservations are for 2 hours, so keep that in mind if you are looking to hang out for longer (there may be other options for staying longer, but we only had a couple hours so I didn't investigate that). The grounds are beautiful and there is a horse rescue on the property which we thought was cool. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

This is the spot to go to when you want to be next to grapes and drinking wine in Maryland. Nothing beats this spacious location and feeling of drinking wine and hanging out with friends outside. You can also bring a picnic and your dog for some fun too. The wine could be a bit pricey but it is the price you are paying to be in this location. I recommend making reservations because it gets packed on a day with good weather and sun. I have been here several times now and has always had a pretty good experience. What a gem to discover a Vineyard not too far from me in Darnestown! Lots of parking on site and very scenic! They had lots of outdoor space and various seating styles to accommodate casual outings or events. We went on Sunday at 5:30pm and it wasn't crowded and most people were just casually sitting around enjoying the views and sunset. Packed lots of snacks and tried the wines they had which were pretty good. There was also a food truck on site if you didn't bring anything. A relaxing and serene place to hang out with friends! Went on a beautiful early November afternoon. Many picnic tables were available overlooking rolling hills and rows of planted grape vines! The property also has a tasting room, a bar area that sells charcuterie and wine,, fire pit set-up and rotating food truck. Was planning a visit to the Poolesville area for a bicycle race on an unseasonably cool Saturday in April. We decided to make reservations to guarantee inside seating versus just rolling the dice. Upon arrival I was taken aback by how nice the grounds are. Sweet ambiance even for an afternoon. We checked in and received a card with our name, table number, and reservation block of time. The block (at least on the weekend) is 2-3 hours. We were seated in the Seneca Pavilion. I was eyeing the fire pits for next time. We ordered a flight which included a red, rosé, and Riesling, For food, we ordered a Mediterranean charcuterie board, truffle popcorn, & a fresh backed brownie. Everything was fresh and tasty. Reminder: It can get really crowded as it gets later in the day. People were celebrating birthdays and we observed a Sip & See. Plan your visit including food accordingly. Ok, admittedly this is my first foray into the Maryland wine scene, but I was very impressed by the quality up and down the line up at Windridge. They have options of a tasting, by reservation, a flight of three, glasses, or bottles. My party chose flights with three whites (Albariño, Chardonnay, and Chardonel-a hybrid of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc). The albariño was fruity and floral on the nose, but drank dry with a nice acidity. I liked the Chardonnay, which can skew sweet, but this one was acidic and tasty. We also tried three reds (Chambourcin, Ithaca Reserve Chambourcin, and Seneca (a blend of merlot, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, and Syrah). The reds were all complex and tasty, but my favorite by far was the Seneca. Me friend LOVED the Chambourcin. The staff are awesome... and combined with the wine, the views, and food trucks on the weekend, you have a great stop. If this is MD wine, they're hitting it out of the park. read more

I visited Windridge Vineyards for an acquaintances birthday celebration. It's a local vineyard, and it's a place where it's visited regularly. There are choices of some food items such as your simple char·cu·te·rie boards. However, there are also food trucks onsite if you're looking for an actual meal. They main feature are their wine selection of reds and whites, and bottle service. Reservation is mandatory if you want to be seated inside vs. outdoors, especially when they feature live music, but outdoor seatings are wide open. First come, first serve. UPDATE: So I came back to this vineyard and had to ask for the manager. The hostess messed up on reservations and everything went left. The server didn't offer any other accommodations when she asked us to move. After my third visit here I in 2 months, unfortunately it's my last. The manager/owner came over and didn't want to hear from me what the issue was. I'm a former hostess at a five star restaurant and a former cocktail server at a five star hotel, so I know the industry and the headaches. I went to their hostess twice to inquire about tables because I know how reservations work and was told I could sit anywhere... so here we are with 4 food truck entrees, 3 bottles of wine and now we have to move. So sure, we'll move but please get the manager at this point because it's a circus and I ain't no clown. The manager came over and immediately starts asking us to move. I said "Let me explain to you what's going on." His response as he cuts me off before I could, " I know what's going on and these tables are paid for." (Mind Blown ) ...y'all know the rest cause at this point hospitality is not their industry apparently. After the "manager's" response I asked if he was the owner, which he replied, "Yes I am" *insert disappointed laugh and grin* because like I said, I know the industry. My friends and I came here to celebrate a friend's bday. This winery has become my favorite in the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Covered tables and event spaces that you can rent out. I ordered a couple of flights and bottles of wine. The Rose and some of the Whites were really good. I like how you can bring outside food and it's a great place to bring kids. There were a couple of food trucks as well. Pizza and bbq weren't anything special. This is a lovely vineyard and the staff are very friendly, patient and helpful. Abigail was very informative about the descriptions and recommendations for wine. We were pleased with numerous options, which was surprising as I don't typically enjoy much of the wine at MD vineyards (understandably w/ the weather soil). The food is limited but they seem to try to have a food truck or two. We went in the later evening to avoid the high heat and crowds so the good trucks were gone. There are areas set up with picnic tables where some people brought their own food. The chicken sandwich was good on toasted, buttery toast either a healthy portion of havarty cheese and hot honey to bring it to another level of gratification.
