While we appreciate the proximity of your office, I am increasingly concerned about the frequency of her required visits. My mother is 86 years old and, while she is generally in good condition, she experiences persistent left hip and abdominal pain that began five years ago after a minor stroke. We have been bringing her to Dr Lee's office almost every month--and recently at least almost twice a month--for this same pain, but unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. Additionally, she undergoes blood tests and urine tests very frequently around every 2 months, most recently three weeks ago, and it seems these tests are conducted less than every eight weeks. As her caregiver, I am concerned about the physical toll that this frequent testing and traveling takes on her. Most recently, I called Dr. Lee's office to request a refill for her cough medicine which we got prescribed from Dr Lee, His staff informed me that we need to schedule yet another in-person visit. Given that we have already visited 3 weeks ago, I would like to better understand the medical necessity behind requiring an in-person appointment for a routine medication refill, as well as the need for such frequent diagnostic testing. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss a more streamlined care plan for my mother that minimizes unnecessary travel while still managing her health effectively.

I have quite a few conditions and she is good at managing them by ordering blood work at appropriate intervals. The blood work can be done there as they have labs on site. The nurses are quite good at that, can even get blood from me which is difficult for many! (They taught me the term for someone hard to get blood from is "hard stick" ) The office is always quite busy, but they dont massively double book like some doctors, so the wait times are not too bad, like max 20 min after scheduled time. They are quick to respond to pharmacy requests about refills which I appreciate. The front desk staff is couteous and seems to know what they are doing. The only thing is you have to check their hours when calling for appointment, as if they are not there it goes to a machined with no option to leave a message in the make an appointment options. Upon arrival, you will see it is little difficult to find this office unless you slow down on Brookhurst street to find it. Once you park, they have the tinted double glass door and insidr, you will see about 20 chairs for the patients to wait and there are about 3-4 Korean ladies working busy. I was a new patient and i just went ahead to write my info and no one honestly cared that i was there, they were all busy busy. I gave them my insurance and ID and paid $15 copay...they gave me papers to sign and i returned them and waited maybe 5 minutes? I was called into a room and the lady staff was just doing her job.. asking regular questions like do you have any medical problems, blah blah... but nothing welcoming or friendly..she was definitely bored and tired of her work..I felt bad for her!!! anyways, she took some eye examines and left, and Dr Lee came in and did his usual observation as a doctor. I had to comeback and reschedule in 3 weeks , because I had an HMO, which needed an insurance authorization approval. So i came out and got a little business card with my appt date on it. I left and came out and left this review...and bottom line is..they did not have any great customer service but i was in N out in 30min..cant complain but i wouldve left 5 stars , only if they were 1.5 times friendly and welcoming. Im Korean, so I understand how these receptionists turn you off with their Unwelcoming attitudes. But nobodys perfect right? This place should be your mediocre Eye Doctor and you shouldnt really expect more than "heres your copay total and heres your next visit date" also. Just to get your check ups and tests, this place is MEDIOCRE at best. You decide.. hope this helps!
