This cannot be called a fast food restaurant at all. I've had sit down restaurants that are faster. Yes, we came during happy hour but that is no excuse. It took several minutes to to take our order after pushing the button, about ten to get our food, and the order was wrong. The worker who brought the food did absolutely nothing because they entered it wrong for the receipt so we ended up ordering my burger AGAIN. Took 10 plus minutes to take our order, and over ten minutes again to get the ONE jr burger. But oh wait! They bring the wrong order for the second time!!! It's Sonic. What do you expect? Happy hour (watered down) drinks are 1/2 off between 2-4p everyday. The tots are superior to fries. After 9p the Popcorn Chicken is a lower price, tender and juicy (their honey mustard dipping sauce is good). read more

Great shakes and drinks, and service was fast. I was really surprised at how much shade was thrown by other reviewers, it was a better fast food experience than I usually get. This used to be the "better" Sonic, at least compared to the PG one. I've never bothered to write a review on a fast food restaurant, because I set my standards for them pretty low, but tonight was bad even for fast food. There was no line in the drive thru and someone took my order at the speaker promptly. I pulled up to the window and waited and waited...and waited. I didn't even realize how long it had been till I looked at the clock and saw it had been over 10 minutes. There was a line of five cars behind me. Finally, the window opens and the guy there was shocked that I hadn't even paid for my food. I handed over my credit card but I should have just left while I had the chance because what I received was two lukewarm kids' meals that had probably been packed right after ordering and then sat, bags open, while everybody was oblivious to the cars outside. read more

Waited for over 30 mins for someone to take our order at the stall. Had to go to drive through to get service and we still had to wait over 5 mins after getting to the speaker for someone to acknowledge our presence and then another 5 plus minutes before we could order. To top it all off once we finally got our order my milkshake was runny and did not taste right. I talk to the manager about this and he said he would take care of me and send me some coupons they never arrived. read more

There seems to be a lot of variance between Sonic locations in the Salt Lake/Utah county area. The American Fork location is pretty consistent. They aren't the fastest, but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a drink order. The tots are always cooked just right. They seem to go a little crazy on the whipped cream on shakes, even when I order one without whip. Of any of the Sonics, AF Sonic has the best ice. When I buy a bag, it seems to stay crushed longer (without freezing into big chunks). If you're a fan of Dirty Diet Cokes, be sure to ask for your drink with the coconut cream syrup (not blue coconut). read more

LIARS. We ordered a sweet tea and they failed twice before we demanded to see a manager. She informed us that they will no longer be pre brewing the sweet tea, instead they are tossing a couple of sugar packets in a regular bitter tea. False advertising much? My two year old and I got food poisoning here. We got a bag of pebble ice. Just the ice. Medical professional said it was likely from an employee not washing hands or changing gloves before filling the bag of ice. I'm imagining this: Kid gets the order for ice, grabs the bag to be filled, doesn't wash first or change gloves, has recently been handling frozen meat, fills bag, hands it to cashier who hands it to me. I take the bag home, open the bag that has been handled by someone who has touched frozen meat, contaminating my hands and our drinks which I fill with the ice. Super slow service. I go here on my lunch a lot, since it's close to my work, but I always end up spending most of my (hour) lunch stuck in the drive-thru. No matter what time of day it is, it always take close to twenty minutes, sometimes more, to get food through the window. I'd rather not spend my lunch hour hungry and sitting in my car. One time, after a twenty-five minute wait, I got to the window to see the cashier goofing off and someone in the background spinning around in circles filming a Vine with her phone. I know it's a fast food job, but really? That experience really turned me off from this place, and I try to avoid it on my lunches now. read more

This place is consistently the slowest fast food restaurant I've ever experienced. A typical drive-thru visit consists of waiting at the speaker for five to ten minutes, sometimes without so much as a, "please wait one moment." Takes another ten to twenty minutes to actually get your food in the drive-thru. Most people just leave without ordering after sitting at the speaker without acknowledgment for several minutes. I usually waste about half of my hour-long lunch waiting for my food whenever I go here. Probably won't bother to try anymore! read more

This sonic was very rude to customers! I've never experienced such a rude ignorant group of employees. Not only were they slower than cold tar, they also included a hair with my food at no extra charge. Then when I took my food back to explain to them that I would like it replaced the manager Brayden called me a liar and refused to replace my order for food without a disgusting hair! They kept my food though as they didn't want proof getting seen by anyone that my food did indeed have a hair in it. So they refused to remake my food they refused to refund my money yet they kept my food and wouldn't give it back. Horrible way to do business here! If you are looking to get a fast delicious meal without hairs then don't go to this Sonic. Just a bunch of kids running this place that don't know their head from a hole in the ground. read more

First, it took us fifteen minutes, during a completely dead time, to get service. Second, when we got service, it took another thirty minutes for them to bring out our food. When it got to us, it was cold, beyond just cooled, it was room temperature. Then, when we went to get slushes, we watched as an employee use her fingers to clean up overflowed slush, and place it back into the cup! Not okay! read more

I had to rate this with one star to be able to leave my review there was no option for less than one star I guess I can rate it with one star as I did get food. Fist off it shouldn't take 3 minutes to begin to take my order and another 15 minutes to make and deliver this order. I'm not real happy as I ordered a Oreo blizzard which I was told I would need a spoon to eat as opposed to the shake that you can drink and I ordered a American hot dog. What I received was a shake that I can't tell what flavor it is but is half melted so no need for that spoon I wanted to eat the cold firm ice cream-and then the hot dog was way less than hot and one end was torn off! What's up with that??? Not sure if it was sacrificed on the way to the car or someone just got hungry along the way but I hate it when I get seconds for my food. The onions were good and crisp and the relish was cold and tasty and the bun was soft but torn in half maybe part of the sacrifice struggle mentioned earlier. I paid with credit card at the menu board but was still asked to pay when the food was delivered. Sonic has been around for a long time so I figured all these problems would have been worked out by now I will probably go somewhere else next time. Disappointed to say the least. read more

I had always been a fan of Sonic, but this time I was completely let down. Ordered all drinks, but somehow we waited about 20 minutes. I'm assuming Sonic doesn't care about all the negative reviews they've received, because they do just as crappy a job now as they did a year or more ago. Nothing changes. If anything, the service has gotten slower. My husband refuses to go, anymore, but made an exception last night because we had family in town who were craving a milkshake. It took (no exaggeration) a HALF HOUR at the drive thru. This is beyond unacceptable. When we got home, we realized one shake hadn't been blended properly and literally tasted like earwax. Next time I want earwax-flavored milkshakes, I'll know where to go. And if I want decent ice cream and service, I'll know where not to go. read more

Want a fast and quick refreshment... DO NOT STOP HERE. Seriously, keep driving. We recently moved to the area and have felt the lure of their convenient location only to be catfished into sitting in line for 15 minutes (30 minutes this last time). Over and over, we have said to ourselves "Sonic is right there" and then we end up kicking ourselves because we are stuck with a screaming two year old that we promised an ice cream to half an hour ago. One time my Diet Coke alone took ten minutes. Obviously, the business model that entrusts tweens to make "fast" food is flawed at its core but this place is especially bad. Tonight after sitting in line for twenty minutes (for the last time, we made a pact;-)) we got to the window and saw all the young teens working texting and using faceswap. They couldn't have been more apathetic to our existence if they tried. So, don't be like us and fall for the Sonic lure, and keep on driving to Swig or Culvers. Extremely disappointed in this Sonic location. I've never had such bad service at any other Sonic. This was my second visit to this location. I just moved to the area and his Sonic is the closest one to me. The first time I went was a Monday afternoon around 2:30pm. The drive thru line was pretty long and it took me about 20 minutes to get my food. I chalked it up to it being the lunch hour. Last night, I went to the drive thru at 10pm and the line was shorter than before. However, it took a good 35 minutes to get my food. Upon arrival home to eat my food, I realized my order was wrong. I had ordered a chicken club toaster, but the sandwich I got did not have any cheese or bacon. And the bread wasn't toasted (in fact, it was very soggy). Extremely disappointed read more

This Sonic is has terrible service! On top of that they don't sell their ice like they advertise. They always say that there ice machine isn't working properly which is a load of crap. It just makes me mad that I have to drive all the way to the PG Sonic just to get ice. If your not going to sell it, don't advertise it!!!!! So I have come to expect slow service from Sonic. Knowing that I still went because I love their shakes. I took my sons to get a treat and we thought we would just grab some shakes from the drive though and head to a park. I waited in the drive through line for half an hour!! When I finally it to the window, no one was there. I figured some of the cars ahead must have had bigger orders and they were just working on my order. I couldn't not have been more wrong. A gentleman I assumed to be the manager was taking to a car in the carhop area, and I could see two girls, employees, sitting around in the back chatting! Finally someone came to the window and I paid, then had to wait about another 5-10 minutes for our Shakes. While I waited in of the chatting girls got up and told whom ever was at the drive through speaker that they would be with them shortly, then sat down and continued talking to her co-worker. They only get two stars because the shakes were so good, but I will not be going to this location again. Maybe you can go here if you are sad and lonely and have tons Of time to kill, and don't want to sit at home alone, but don't expect anyone here to have good service skills, at least you won't be sitting a home read more

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. The wrong lids on the wrong cups for my shakes - I also waited for 40 minutes for three shakes. THREE SHAKES. At 10 o clock at night. The laziness of the employees and their carelessness caused them to spill all over my car and on my phone, my sons phone and my daughters. It looked like I slaughtered a damn cow. I was able to salvage one shake but got a loss on the other two. When I asked for napkins and to rectify the situation the manager Dave completely ignored me. Now, I work retail so I understand that things can get hectic but that was the worst customer service experience I could have imagined. I get reprimanded for the smallest things because of the responsibility my management places on me to rectify situations like this but I am absolutely astounded at how he could have cared less about this situation and how the employees couldn't even put the correct lids on the correct cups. read more
