***3.75*** I have been to this Sonics location a few times. It is a bit out of the way for me visit more regularly, but I had to satisfy my urge for a oceanwater slush and chili cheese coney dog. Man, was it worth the drive. I was annoyed by the service from the call box. The communications kept cutting out and i could not complete my order. I LOVE Sonic- it's pretty much the only fast food I am excited to eat- but this location is fairly so-so. I've been to this one a handful (maybe 3-4?) of times. The location feels like it is in a bit of a touch-n-go neighborhood. One time, we got several panhandlers from Royal Farms walking by our car the entire time gesturing at us and trying to get us to give them money while we were trying to order and eat, which was very awkward. However, it has only happened once that they have directly come up to us, but I have noticed a lot of that sort of activity in the Royal Farms parking lot (directly facing Sonic) and the surrounding intersections. Not necessarily the best view! Our order has always been correct with respect to the big stuff, except for each time I have asked for some sweet n' low packets to go with my unsweetened iced tea. Each time they promise they will bring it out, and they never do. Once we even had a guy come check on our car a bit after we received our food to ask if we needed sauces, napkins, etc. and I asked him for some packets and he said they didn't have any. So who knows. The majority of the time, the food has been on point, except for the last time- my mozzarella sticks and jumbo popcorn chicken just tasted off. I ended up throwing most of them out. On that visit, I went during an off-time and also waited probably 10-15 minutes to be able to even place my order, so I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or if something else was going on. A little bit of privacy from the Royal Farms parking lot right in front and actually getting some sweetener when I ask for it would go a long way. But, all that being said, if you haven't been to a Sonic, definitely give it a try! Our favorites are the real flush slushies, milkshakes, pretzel bacon cheese dog, corn dogs, and the mozz sticks. read more

Trash! Ordered through DoorDash a very simple order and they couldn't even get it right. I asked for 2 grilled cheeses one with bacon and one without. A chicken wrap, mini blast French fries and tots. I received 2 grilled cheese on HAMBURGER BUNS! If you didn't have sandwich bread then just cancel the grilled cheese! and it wasn't even grilled! Didn't get my blast and the chicken wraps was disgusting. The only edible thing was the French fries and tots. I should've known better. This location is trash. I tried to call and no one picked up. Wow, I will never ever go to this Sonic location again. First of all, there were no cars in front of me and my order (not even exaggerating) took over 8 minutes to receive. It was a bad weather night, and this was on the way home. Now, I usually pop a fry or tater tot in my mouth to make sure it is hot but again, my main concern was navigating the rainy weather. I hopped back on BWI parkway, it was then I ate one of my tater tots. Horrible is an understatement. It was cold, dry, brittle and downright inedible. The burger was thrown together and not piping hot either, so the only thing I could salvage was my cherry limeade. Now comes the second level of disgust. I contacted customer service, and the story just gets worse. Got the order on 12/27, was told someone would contact me (nothing). Called them back on 1/6/25, told the same thing (nothing). Just called today 1/10/25 (after both agents hung up on me and I had to call back) and was told the same slow restaurant location was contacted and they would have to initiate a refund, and it was out of their hands. Whaaaat!. If this sounds crazy, well that's because it truly is. I've NEVER dealt with a restaurant that has given me the runaround like this. The customer service problem solving is atrocious and they give the same standard answers instead of actually helping their paying customers. Sonic was a staple when I was stationed in Florida and was pleased that they made it to Maryland, but they have definitely lost a customer. The horrible food, horrible customer service and the horrible non-existent follow-up is the reason for the rating and if they had a ZERO, that would be the rating. It was hard to hear the person taking my order because of the Music being played throughout the Sonic drive-thrus/ parking. I've been here 3 times too many 1st Trip- 2 strands of hair In my burger 2nd-trip - only ordered the new lime freeze and they didn't know how to make it. Do not go to this location. I had to wait over 35 minutes for an order of a slush, burger, and popcorn chicken. Once the order was brought out, I received the wrong items except for the slush and it was evident it had been sitting out. I returned the items stating that I had not ordered them and the carhop came out with the wrong items once again. It was so frustrating since the location was not busy at all. I understand that reviews will vary due to time and who's working. But I had a great experience here. It was during the "Half Price All Day Happy Hour" on tax day, and I figured the staff would be grumpy and overworked. Nup. I ordered a diet cherry limeade and asked if they had Frito Pie up here. Y'know, because I can't read a menu. The waitress/hop said absolutely, and at that exact time I saw the item (bottom left corner). We both shared a laugh - no, she didn't laugh at me, or snicker - and she was prompt, friendly and professional when I pull up to the window. Next time I'll do the full drive-in thing. I only come here for their shakes and limeade. I dunno, their shake creations are pretty great and are always loaded. I really like the consistency too; not too thick, not too thin. Any and all flavors are great. Their limeade is something on a different level for me. If i'm thirsty, a Sonic Limeade is what comes to mind. Specifically, their Strawberry Limeade. With bits of strawberry (whether frozen or fresh, I don't give an) effort to make it here at all costs. What makes it great is their ice too, which are little beads of ice which I think helps disburse the cooling throughout the levels of the cup. But what do I know, I'm just saying stuff. All you gotta know is that it's great. The food however, I haven't tried so I dunno. read more

Since relocating 4 months ago from Texas leaving behind certain fast food delicacies only found there, I found comfort in knowing that Baltimore had Sonic. Unfortunately and regrettably the Patapsco Avenue location left us waiting over 40 minutes for my husbands burger from the time we received our order. During this time we politely waited and informed them three times. I considered a lack of employees and too many orders but there was no wait in the drive through and only three cars in the stalls including us. After the third and final call the associate that answered apologized for the wait and mix up and brought it out to us personally. read more

Got there and it took the employee about a minute to answer us in the drive through. After tapping on the speaker he came on and stated his name and took our order and between us ordering things he's saying "what else?" Not would you like the combo or what kind of drink would you like w that... just what else. Got to the window to pay and there were no words spoken.. no hi, how are you, i don't think we were told our total until we saw the receipt. Smh got our food and it was nice that it was hot but as a health inspector i don't want my peppermint in my food. I ordered French toast sticks and there were six peppermints sitting in the tray w my French toast. I know they weren't using gloves so grabbing a hand full of mints and throwing them on top of my food kind of upset me. Then our drinks tasted horrible. Order Errors/Bad Customer Service Went to this fast food place to order beverages and did not receive the beverages asked for at the stall. Employee on headset continuously interrupted and I was placed on hold a minimum of three times before order taken. Then a carhop appeared and said that one of the beverages requested was not available and that the service person would not be in since it was a holiday. I asked the carhop if this information was shared by the manager. The carhop said no. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager said that this information was shared with the staff. Someone clearly lied. The order was already paid for and the manager never offered to void the order. Instead, I was given a small beverage as a quick remedy to excuse the source of the problem. The manager showed a lack of experience and a clear lack of management skills. I had to request the owner's contact information in hopes of having this issue resolved. Upon contacting the manager, via email, I receive an email with a number of reasons why the employee on the headphone set could not hear my order request. One such reason provided is "Noise in the background." Sidebar: "Every drive thru has noise in the background." The manager also asked, in email, if the manager offered me another beverage. This is after the manager clearly shares that the beverage requested was available. Again, someone is clearly misinformed or this is the lying group of cohorts that I have ever experienced at a fast food establishment. Nothing has not been done to resolve my issue of a refund request; since, I did not receive the product that I clearly paid for at this establishment. The letter grade that I give this establishment is a letter grade of "F." On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest score, I give this establishment a "1." If I could rate them a zero, I would. Bad customer service and order errors is something that no hard working citizen should have to experience due to sub-par experienced staff and management. read more
