Such a fun novelty candy shop! They have various bulk candies, cute toys, vintage looking posters, cheeky knickknacks and a wall of unique sodas. I came here looking for unique candies. They had some asian candy that I was interested in (but they were much pricier than what you'd find an asian grocery store). I also found a special anniversary pack of Haribo gummies! I wish the candy selection was a little more extensive and diverse -- seeing this what you came in for! For sodas, I tried a mango sparkling water (it tasted more floral and artificial than fruity) and my partner got a ginger beer (non-alcoholic) and a bacon soda -- we have not been brave enough to try the latter yet, haha! Overall, the sodas were too sweet for me and artificial. I was hoping they'd have more natural and fruit flavors. But I guess I'd have to go to some place like Whole Foods for that. This is all about fun, over-the-top labels and lots of sugar! I was also pleased to find Harry Potter candies - chocolate wands, frogs and gummy slugs! It's hard to find these anywhere else. Another fun find - Duff soda! I didnt buy it, but I'll have to go back and try it as a nod to the Simpsons. Everything isn't cheap here, but it's fun to splurge once in a while or pay a little more for unique gifts for friends.

A solid find in Alexandria, they carry loads of candy and oddities from all over. Reminded me of Lolli and Pops at the mall but Rocket Fizz has much better prices and more selections. Picked up a few European and Japanese candy we have a hard time finding along with some unusual flavors of kit kats. They have a HUGE selection of strange sodas from pickle flavor, to all kinds of JONES soda and everything in between. Only complaint was the woman at the register was a little miffed about something. Probably just having an off day but she was short and kinda snippy with us.

Horrible customer service. I saw that they had Clark Bars so I bought 10 and had them shipped to Cleveland. Total with shipping was $40. I opened one and took a bite and it wasn't a clark bar at all. The wrapper said clark bar but I don't know if they were counterfeit or just a different recipe but the filling was hard as a rock, not flaky like the originals and tasted completely different. When I contacted rocket fizz and sent them an email with photos of what they advertise and what I received, they (Tonya) told me they couldn't do anything but offered 15% off my next purchase. Take a look at the photos. 1st one is the advertised one, second is what I got.

    An amazing selection of soda!

The chocolate cone didn't taste that fresh... but it was still good. My friends didn't really like their strictly strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, or coffee flavors that much though. They were out of the coffee crunch and chocolate hazelnut which sounds like better options. The worker did make a remark in front of all the customers saying they need to stop working here during the summer and seemed stressed. I mean what do you expect for an ice cream store in a busy area on a hot day... that comment should've definitely been saved for private coworker talk. My other friends rate this place 3 stars.

I've been to Savannah's a couple of times before, and they never disappoint. We were in National Harbor on vacation, and of course--with kids in tow--we had to stop in and let them explore all the gooey goodness. Funny enough, they made a beeline straight for the ice cream instead of the candy... probably because we had already been it It's Sugar earlier that day! They tried a mix of flavors--birthday cake, wildberry sorbet, cookies & cream, butter pecan--and I went with mint chocolate chip. Every single one was delicious! The ice cream was creamy, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot. And let me just say--I appreciated the pricing. For the area, it was very reasonable. Not over-the-top expensive like Ben & Jerry's, so that was a win! Now for my part... I couldn't leave without trying a few treats. I grabbed a couple of truffles--raspberry milk chocolate, white chocolate, and a few others--and they were all rich, smooth, and delicious. But BABY... that giant turtle candy?! Whew! It was EVERYTHING. Crispy, fresh pecans, buttery caramel, and perfectly blended milk chocolate--hands down the perfect after-dinner treat. And don't sleep on the caramel popcorn with pecans--sweet, crunchy, and downright addictive! The service was excellent! The young ladies working the counters were patient, helpful, and friendly, which made the whole experience even better! Overall, if you're in the National Harbor area--or anywhere you spot a Savannah's Candy Kitchen--do yourself a favor and stop in. You are absolutely in for a treat!

After taking a look at the candy, gelato and desserts, we settled on key lime pie. The key lime pie was pretty good, though it was perhaps a little too sweet and the filling rather dry. Because we were first time customers, the shopkeeper offered us each a piece of complimentary candy. The candy had a shell filled with a confection containing Japanese citrus yuzu fruit. The shell was coated with dark chocolate. I'm just going to say this was the tastiest, most delightful candy I've ever sampled. Dolce & Bean also sells attractively designed packages of candies. These would make good gifts. We absolutely will be back for more candy and want to try the gelato. One minor thing is that the shop was chilly and I had to put my hoodie on. But heck, aren't most restaurants and stores around the DMV freezing cold in the summer?

I'd definitely return to support this small (and delicious) small business. Oh & I got a green tea macaron - yum!

Either way I just found Lily's Chocolate & Coffee while venturing up and down King Street, and well with the help of Yelp because this was a plan to visit later in October. But, I decided my kiddos needed a treat. Located on a corner you walk into hues of pink, florals and the smell of chocolate and coffee. I became immediately distracted by the toppings and melted chocolate. But, when I snapped out of it, I was able to place my order. I opted for the Dubai chocolate inspiration over strawberries. If I remember correctly it was around $20 five or take. The cafe is so cute. It is small and if crowded be prepared to navigate that. There is bathrooms inside but, I do not know if it is for customers or not, as they were locked when we were there. The staff were just starting for the day. But they were helpful, kind and ready to roll. Once we received our order we sat down and dug right in. The strawberries were fresh, large and draped over in chocolate, pistachio cream and katifia. This is not my first time having Dubai chocolate or Dubai inspired chocolate. I thoroughly enjoy it over strawberries. There is just something about chocolate ad strawberries. Overall a wonderful place. I highly recommend visiting

The Pionir Honey Cakes also caught my eye, and they were priced fairly at $4.79 for a bag. In fact, the total for those three specialty items was less than $15. So many of their imported food items looked delicious, but I would need to do more research to know exactly what they are. This place is a unique find and maybe someday they will expand out to add a few more aisles of great stuff!

I just bought two jars of Romanian zacusca yesterday and two frozen packets of mititei sausage today. No issues no problems. I couldn't find either anywhere close by. I apologized that I couldn't properly pronounce what I wanted. They laughed and helped me find both items. She apparently walked in and walked out based on I don't know what. She should have adopted a better attitude. It a great store that has stuff I have not been able to find anywhere that is so close it's ridiculous. At least she was honest and said she walked in and out without interacting with the staff. I don't think she has been to Europe or anywhere else. Please take her "review" off the front page because it is based on no interaction, no purchase, nothing except she has a bad feeling. Get a grip and move on before you trash a perfectly good resource you haven't given a chance. Guy Philbin

They have a vast selection of wines, ports, cheeses, caviar, and breads. What keeps us going back, and a lot of our friends talk about this, too, is that there is not a hint of pretention there. The owners are so very helpful, patient and kind. The prices are also comparable to bigger stores and chains. And, of course, they do generous case discounts. We normally buy cases of the Le Petit Duc La Porte (glad I'm typing it because I can't pronounce it) and we get a better price at Fern Street Gourmet than what they're selling it for at Whole Foods. Off-street parking is almost always available here. I know they do tastings, too, but have never been to one. If you're looking for a nice pairing for a special dinner or holiday meal but don't want to feel looked down upon like in some other wine joints, check out Fern Street. Clare, from Tallula wine bar, works here part-time, too, and really knows her stuff.

Second best sandwiches I have ever had, but best on the East coast…read more I'm in Arlington on business from the West Coast and was looking for a quick lunch spot when I stumbled into this little hidden gem. I've eaten at plenty of delis over the years, but Eddie's Little Shop completely surprised me with flavors I've genuinely never tasted before. The sandwiches here are incredibly unique, creative combinations that just explode with flavor in ways I wasn't expecting. What really stood out were the huge, fresh chunks of real mozzarella, paired with their homemade-style dressings, sauces, and condiments. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. The portions are generous, the bread is spot-on. I'll definitely be back before my trip ends. Saturday, midafternoon, I stop by for an Eddie Mootz ($17) (salami, ham, sopressata, mozzarella, on seeded italian). I'm handed this brown paper bag that weighs, I dunno, 3 lbs? I have to carry this back with me to the Metro. Twice along the way, I have to stop and catch my breath. I get home, my kitchen counter sags a bit where I put the bag down. Cripes, Eddie's. And the sandwich itself? 2 meals, easily. Thick thick piles of meat and a shovel-full of mozzarella. Very chewy bread. I work up a sweat just eating this, there's so much labor involved. I ordered online from the Metro, around the DCA stop, and got a notification it was ready before I got to the King Street stop. Fast turnaround.
