Sonic has been nothing but great for me. I mean, you don't come here to get fancy food, but the price is right for the decent quality. I'm pretty much addicted to their fries. My husband loves their shakes. And it's kind of fun to have the drive-in atmosphere. I know, it's not the same as a real drive in, but it's as close as you can get in the cities. read more

my friends and i were excited to go to sonic cuz we were extremely hungry... we are now haNGRY ggrrrrerrrrrrrrr ... three cars have come and left in the time that we ordered. we only ordered 3 shakes, a slushees, and fries.... how long does it take to get that together. the worst experience we have had. we had to be somewhere and left because it took too long. if you are understaffed, tell us and apologize for the wait. i just wanted my slushee and didn't get it :( sad read more

So this was both the first and last time I will ever visit a Sonic. Of course, when buying fast food at 10pm on a Monday night, you expect the food to be craptastic and you expect the staff to be stoned, but this was just ridiculous.. I've never had to wait in a drive through line for 30 mins to get 1 burger and tater tots.. I sat at the window for a solid 15 while they kept bringing out orders for the cars behind me... big bags full of whatever garbage they all ordered.. I'm a patient dude, so I stayed patient, but when I finally waved the drive through girl down and got her attention away from her laughing coworkers, she opens the window and asks if I got a receipt so they could make my food.. I understand you don't usually put the A-team on staff at 10pm on weekdays, but at least get one kid on staff with some kind of work ethic.. Oh, and their food is epically bad.. No reason to go here when there is a Wendy's right next door and 15 other food options within two blocks.. read more

Tonight I HAD to download Yelp for one reason: to tear the Sonic on American Blvd apart. The worst restaurant experience of my life, bar none. Horrible. Waiting 45 mins. They forgot about my order. Then brought out the wrong order 15 mins later and finally got my single slushee after an additional 10 minutes. The service and quality of food here has gotten progressively worse over the past year. I just went there for lunch and waited almost 20 minutes for them to bring me the wrong order - TWICE. Then when I went up to the door and told them they brought me the wrong order again they said, "Oh, yours is sitting right here." Great - add to that by this time my burger and tots weren't even warm anymore AND even though the wrapper had "no onion" and "no mustard" stickers on it there were onions on the burger. Ridiculous! Pulled up to a spot. Wasn't particularly busy. Average night. I called in the order....and waited....and waited. After 14-15 minutes I called back in. I asked if they forgot my order. They said they were just super busy. I could have waited in line at the drive thru and gone around at least twice. Finally after another five minute wait I got my meal minus the cream cheese dip for the cinnamon desert. And not a single sorry from any of the employees, either on the talk box or the ones who brought the meal out. I will definitely reconsider going back. read more

Today is the last time I will do business with Sonic. I have an enormous amount of patience and will give more than three chances to people and things. I fully understand that life happens and that people are human and make mistakes, starting with myself. Today's events, however, used up my allotment of patience with Sonic. In the process of ordering, the person taking my order seemed to be having problems with my request to add a glass of ice water to my order and asked if I wanted a bottle and finally I agreed, but asked for a cup of ice with it. I took out my money ($26) which included a tip for the server and put it in an empty cup holder on the car door. When the server arrived, not only were items missing from my order, but there was no ice in the cup. He handed items to me and I took the money out of the empty cup holder, handed it to him to avoid the money sticking to the sweating bottle of water before taking the bottle from his hands. I then asked him if he could get the ice that I ordered. He stood staring at me with my money in hand and told me that I would have to pay for it. I told him that I had ordered it and still wanted it. He left with the empty cup and my $26. While he was gone I noticed another item was missing. I checked the receipt to make sure I had already paid for it and I had, so when he returned with the ice in the cup, I thanked him and told him what was missing. He then informed me that I would have to pay for it. I told him that I already had and pointed to the receipt, thinking that was what he was talking about. He then said that I had not paid him and commenced to yell at me. I demanded to speak with the manager. He stormed off back into the building. I waited and when no one came out, I initiated contact by pressing the order button and again demanded to speak with the manager. Shortly afterwards, a petite young woman approached and informed me that the head manager was in the restroom, but that she had checked the till and the till was shy the exact amount of my order. She said she didn't see the money anywhere. I told her that I didn't know if the server put it in his pocket, but that I knew that I'd paid him as I had to give him the money, which included a tip, in order to be able to put the bottle of water in the cup holder. She said that they had cameras and I told her to review the footage. While she was gone, the head manager arrived and told me that I had to pay. I again explained to him that I had. He told me that the till was shy the exact amount of my order. I told him that I didn't know if the server put it in his pocket or somewhere else, but I had paid. I told him to check the camera footage. He raised his voice and told me that he had checked the server's pockets. He raised his voice and continued to accuse me, claiming that two people had witnessed me not paying the server. At that point I began handing back all of the food and the drink that was ordered and informed him that I didn't want anything from them, but that they had cheated me. I told him that I had given the server $26, one $20, one $5, and $1, which included a tip. As he was about to continue telling me off, the petite young woman returned with the money I had paid. The manager stood dumbfounded. She informed us that she found it on a tray inside. The head manager of the restaurant looked at me and said, "well obviously this wasn't done". I cut him off as he could not even admit that they had treated me unfairly when it was clearly their error. He didn't even offer a simple apology for him yelling and his server yelling and accusing me of not paying and lying. I was so angry and told him that I would NEVER do business with Sonic EVER. I don't know if they were deliberately running a scam, but if this was an honest error, they should have had the courtesy of apologizing. NEVER again, Sonic, it's not worth it! I have never been to a sonic before somehow, and I won't be returning to one again after this visit. My wife and I went through the drive thru yesterday to get some lunch. To start, the person working the drive thru was very rude and clearly didn't want to be at work. I ordered the toaster burger, the picture looked great. I got it with tots, and my wife got popcorn chicken and a cheeseburger. We got home ( 3 min drive away) and tried everything. All of our food was cold. My toaster burger was the worst burger I've had period. The bread looked like it was toasted hours ago and left out. It was soggy bread, not hot or toasty, and looked nothing like the picture. Even the tots were cold. No flavor on anything. We ate a little bit of what we could, and then we went to go get more edible food. Hands down worst fast food I've ever had and that is saying something. I'll stay far away from Sonics. read more

Good, for the most part! I've always been a fan of the old school style drive-in. It has an almost classical feel that's hard to forget. Not to mention how delicious the food is! I almost always go for a burger, and am definitely never disappointed. However, the mess isn't much appreciated..it's almost a skill that you have to master, keeping that burger together. I love Sonic in Texas! I keep trying this one, wanting it to be as good. They are REALLY slow and I always try to keep my order super simple so they don't mess it up. You can pretty much plan that if you order food, it won't be hot by the time you get it. The staff are really unprofessional and obviously aren't trained very well. read more

When I told the carhop my food was cold she did not apologize but gave me the receipt to write a review. Less Than Zero If I could use negative numbers to rate this place, I would. I was originally going to go to Red Lobster the next block over, but then decided I wanted something fast and simple. Also, it was fairly late and there were only a couple other cars there, so I got in the Sonic drive thru line and ordered 3 hot dogs. Then I pulled up and saw there was one car ahead of me at the window. It took forever for him to get served, but I figured at least they'd have plenty of time to get my food ready (and besides, how long does it take to cook a hot dog?) Well, he eventually got served and then it was my turn to wait ... and wait and wait and wait. And all this while nobody appeared to be making hot dogs nor, for that matter, even acknowledging that I was there at all. And the guy who took my order was standing inside the booth, less than 3 feet away. Finally I'd had enough. Even though I'd already paid for my food, after about 10 minutes of waiting, I simply put my car in gear and left. And then went to Red Lobster, where I got good food and excellent service. read more

Let me start by saying I was expecting a nice lunch after a hard break up that separated my family. What I got in return was my taste buds funeral. The spot in Sonic is terrible next to a Wendy's which after I threw up went there and got a terrific burger and fries with bacon. I am disgusted and expect better from the so called twin cities more like twin towers. This place is falling apart one by one and this sonic just needs to use its chaos emerald to try and get better. I'm really disappointed everytime I come. The food is okay but the service is TERRIBLE. They are super slow and seem to not care about their job or their customers. At times I have waited over 30 min for 2 shakes while the place was dead. Another time they gave me the wrong shake and the person was kind of a bitch to me when I tried to get the right drink. Really disappointed that I can't get the shakes anymore but the service is just so horrible I can't stand it. I would not recommend coming here ever again. read more

The least funny joke I've ever been a part of. The employees were outside fooling around with a line of 10 cars for the drive through and no one served us at the drive up screen for 30 minutes. Once we were able to get someone to speak to us and order the food didn't come for 45 minutes and there wasn't a single napkin or straw in the bag and we ordered drinks. If I end up on candid camera next week and it was all a joke then I totally understand and apologize otherwise every single employee should be fired. read more

I have always loved Sonic Drive-In. My husband does not. Today I chose to go to Sonic since we were in the neighborhood, with many food choices around us. Our meal took almost 15 minutes to arrive. When I buzzed in, they said they were just waiting for the burgers to come up. Minutes later the car hop arrived with the food, full of apologies. Sadly, the burgers were cold. The WORST customer service I've EVER had in my life! We pulled up to the stall, got our order placed, tried to pay with my card and the card reader didn't work, so I kept trying and eventually gave up and figured I'd just pay when they brought the food out. We sat there for 35 minutes waiting and finally an employee came over and asked us, "Have you two ordered anything?" We said we did a long time ago and she asked if we ran through the drive through and then parked there....no, no we did not. And she said she would go look for our order and grab her manager. 15 minutes later the manager came over and apologized, said that our order was rang up in the drive through and that they we're making us a fresh order. Then he told us he was discounting our food, he took $5 off the total, for as long as we sat there it should have been free. By now we had been there for over an hour and still no food, we waited 20 minutes after the manager left and we still didn't have any food! So we left. Never going back there again. read more

Service was quick but food was awful. Don't get pretzel dog, the bun was cold and broke into pieces. Chocolate malt was a delight . Not coming back to this one but I'm a total fan of sonic. read more
