We ordered our food through the app. We went to get our food at your supposed drive in location in Carson city. My 82 year old mother had to walk up to the door and retrieve our food for some unknown baffling reason. Olive Garden is curbside, Applebee's is curbside, Sonic is not and you are a drive in. I want to know what ridiculous COVID or otherwise excuse Sonic is using to not use your drive in facilities as designed. I expect a specific response to my question either via phone or email. Please give this location another try. My father was sick in the hospital and craved hot dogs, onion rings and milkshakes. Sonic was the only place we could get a hot dog via drive thru. He loved them and asked for us to bring him more the next day. Each Sonic team member and shift was nice, efficient and did the job. Drive thru speed acceptable! I would rate this sonic a one star, reason being is for bad customer service, how the place is run. By looking from the outside in, customer wait over 10-15minute walking up, it should be even between drive thru customers who walks up. read more

The young man, Clifford, who helped us had excellent customer service skills. Extremely polite! We are from out of town and received way more of an experience than expected coming to a fast food restaurant. I stoped by for lunch and ordered a $5 chicken tenders meal (no drink) got it to go, down the road I opened the box to tough tenders a not so fresh onion ring and a rinky dink piece of bread! Tater Tots you can't lose but totally not worth the $. Stick with the drinks and shakes! read more

I have never EVER left a review for a restaurant. But Jesus this place is trash!!! We ordered a hot dog that had mold on the outside of the bun. We brought it to there attention and they tried telling us it wasn't mold when it clearly was. I ordered a chicken meal and there was 2 gray hairs in it. Poor signage regarding their current policy. Nowhere for over-height vehicles to park. Ordered through the app which said to put in a number but the vehicle had to park across from those and there were signs about the size of an index card. They got my order incorrect both of the times I went there- I was able to speak with Leo the store manager and he probably has to be one of the best managers I have spoke with! He told me a bit about how the store is run and how customers mean a lot in his eyes. Which was great because that is hardly ever said now! I've maybe been here 2 of 10 times where my ordered has been correct. A lot of the drive thru attendants are very slow at taking orders, ask you to repeat things, or to hold on. Tonight I received someone else's meal. They did not even bother to provide condiments for the mozzarella sticks! If say have a good one multiple times after providing you your order be sure stop and check the food before leaving. Location seems to be regularly understaffed. Employee training information is on drive thru window. Some of the training info is dated years back and double sided (as if the side facing out towards the customer is never looked at). read more

I was very disappointed tonight. I went with my family to the Carson city Sonic's Drive thru, because they were promoting all shakes half off. We were excited as we always loved Sonic's and were excited they had this promotion. We placed our order 8 shakes and 1 order of onion rings.They did had a few orders before us as there were vehicles parked and cars raced to get to the drive thru. My sister in law and her husband were one stall over. We were in stall #12 and they were in stall #13. They too had ordered fries and corndogs. An employe with a green dragon outfit came out to hand them their food. She saw us in that stall. Our screen still had order in process in the kitchen sign, so we waited. After 35 minutes waiting all the cars gone and drive thru cleared, my brother in law called to ask how much would our order take. All we had ordered were shakes and onion rings. The lady on the other end told him that they had came out tried calling our stall and no one answered, so they threw them all away. She also said there was no car in stall #12. I immediately called them and same lady answered the call. I asked them how much longer would our order take. She told me "I'm sure the gentlemen in stall #13 already told you what happened, but we went out there called and no one answered, so we threw away all 8 shakes! I told her no one had came out of course I wasn't going to wait with my window down, because we live in Nevada and it was cold, but even if they had attempted to go out with our order and looked if there was a car they would have clearly seen a Nissan Armada (big car) sitting in that stall. They not once attempted to call us through the order speaker. I then asked her "so your not going to make our order?" She said "I told you we already threw away the shakes, because no one answered!"She said " You have to place it again on the screen" I can overlook the fact that maybe they didn't see the car or called and we didn't answer like they had claimed happened, so why not make it right? Why not take my order again, apologize and bring out our ordert.Isn't that what establishments are supposed to do? Make it right? I had kids in the car that were upset they didn't get a shake for the ride home! Instead she was rude, unapologetic and unprofessional. I asked her to speak to the manager, she replied " your talking to her" I said "I'm sure your not the general manager who is above you?" she said "Aaraceli" If that is truly her name and she gets to read this. The Super Sonic double cheesebuger is one of the best burgers in Carson city ! Very good and it will fill you up. My kids love the Tator tots. They have good various drinks and smoothies too. I only wish they had a dining room. read more

FAIL. COMPLETE AND UTTER FAIL. Went for the summer shake flavors and half-off shakes special. Ordered peanut butter fudge shake (advertised special), orange cream slush, and 2 identical footlong chili cheese coneys with onions & mustard. Nothing special, all standard Sonic fare. The speaker system on the stall I pulled into was broken, so I opted for the drive-thru. Big mistake. I clocked it: 25 minutes to get my food!! The drive-thru employee didn't greet me when taking my card, giving it back, or handing me my food. The only thing she said at all was that the shakes weren't ready yet when she handed over the food. I felt completely unwelcome and unappreciated. Service: 0 Speed: 0 Facility: 0 Accuracy of order: 25%. Wrong shake flavor, no onions or mustard on either coney. 1/4 correct. FAIL on all counts. I'm extremely displeased. $13 for an orange cream slush and three wrong items. Yuck. To add insult to injury, the coney tasted like salt and mustard on a bun. It was WAY oversalted and had no other flavor to it whatsoever. If you're going to participate in promotions like 25 shake flavors and 1/2 off shakes after 8, have adequate staff and facilities to handle the resulting 8:00 rush! What a nightmare. I don't plan to return. What I'd *really* like is a refund and an apology, but I don't have another fifteen minutes to wait to speak to someone and another half hour after that to wait for replacement food. read more

They never seem to give you what you ordered right, and never give you marinara or sauce when ordering a burrito and mozzarella sticks. Employees are rude they always go straight to saying the total never ask if needed anything else. They need to greet a little bit more polite. Not exactly the greatest food but sometimes you are gonna be hungry for low end but tasty high fat, high sodium, cheap food. Sonic nails this. For a fast food drive through. I have no complaints here. Although I always go through the drive through, I can't speak for the others in the parked spots. Service is always friendly and orders are always right. I don't see what others are complaining about. I usually stick to their $5 box special or Limeade and some tots for my cravings. Went to Sonic about 30 minutes before they closed, and was treated like it was an annoying experience. The car hop was so annoyed that she had to take my order, and cut me off as I was trying to order. Food taste amazing as Sonic usually does, other than this Sonic does NOT know how to make a sweet tea. Every time I've ordered, it's unsweet tea, with sugar in it, not dissolved, and when I take a drink, I end up chewing the sugar. NASTY!!!! read more
