I've read a majority of the reviews and they are all a few years back when Sonic had a prior owner who cared about service. I'm going to send my review out there and maybe it will hit the higher ups and they change. I entered the drive thru lane and it literally took me twenty minutes waiting to order. Then another five minutes at the window to pay and receive my order. This is insane. Drive thru lanes are suppose to be quicker to order. I felt bad for the person working the drive thru. He seemed stressed and rushed. Not sure where the problem lies but I definitely will reconsider going there again. read more

Drive through Time was fast! On my first trip, I had an "ice issue" with my Strawberry Lemonade (I received ULTRA ice when I specifically asked for "Light ice"). I went back to Sonic on the second trip, and an employee named "Caleb" /"Kaleb" made it better by providing me a new lemonade and great customer service (lack of negative attitude and apologies, even though he wasn't the one who created my drink in the first place). I did a mobile order for a Strawberry Slush and mozzarella sticks. I don't even think I waited 3 minutes after I checked in. My slush has sooo much flavor and my mozzarella stickswere nice and hot. Plus, the car hop was very sweet and I was so happy to actually see her on skates. This experience took me back to my childhood. This is the worst Sonic I've ever eaten at. The customer service is great but the food is disgusting. Every time I go there my fries or tator tots are over cooked...it's like the grease always needs to be changed or something. I got a cherry limeade a couple of times and they forgot the cherry. Also the jumbo chicken is not jumbo. More like extra small chicken bites. I could have fed my chihuahua the jumbo chicken and he would have gotten a full stomach. Definitely one of the better Sonics in Columbia. The service is relatively quick (and faster if you go through the drive-thru rather than park) and the food and drink are always as expected. I mostly stop for the happy hour beverages (2-4pm) and have never been disappointed. read more

This is probably my favorite fast food joint here in Columbia. The food is way better than the location in Greenville (Pleasantburg). The food I have received is always hot which is a plus. My family and I have tried numerous items on the menu and have not been let down so far. Make sure you check your order before leaving because like most fast food places the order can occasionally be wrong or missing something. In my case we were given the wrong frozen lemonades but I didn't complain. Will definitely be back :-) read more

I never have any problems with this sonic but today I was really impressed with the customer service. I asked Billy which of the new mocktail slushes he liked best, he told me strawberry daiquiri and pina colada. I was torn in my decision making and couldn't decide, so I just randomly chose pina colada . We got to the window I tried and loved the pina colada slush. As I was waiting on my food Billy let me try a strawberry daiquiri slush and I love that as well will be back for those on multiple occasions. I visited your drive through on 9/19/2017 and had a horrible, mortifying experience with your "manager", Jamie. First off I would like to say that when I go through a drive through, I am not the kind of customer who needs their hand held on what to order. I understand that this is what you feel you need to do to your customers, however, you don't have to do it to all of them. When a customer orders their food and tells you that they want a #1, add ketchup and mustard, tots and HI-C and you have not been listening and ask them if they want tots or fries and make the customer repeat what they said already, it's annoying. And to have this done 3 different times and at that point we ask if you could slow down because it feels like you are rushing us and your response is "I'm just guiding you through the order process, BUT OK". Then my husband tells you that there's no need to be rude and I'll just see you at the window and you respond smart ass like with "I can't wait". At this point, there's no coming back from where your manager, Jamie, took me and my husband. When we got to the window, my husband was livid and I was trying to explain to Jamie that every time we told what we wanted, he either cut us off or had us repeat stuff we knew we said clearly and they could understand. I talk with my hands because I deal with a lot of deaf people in my work field and my little niece is deaf and that's how I communicate with her. To be told by Jamie that I was being rude because I was waving my hands was absolutely disheartening. My husband went off at that point because that's something that hits home to us and you don't just spit out the first thing that comes to mind working in customer service, ESPECIALLY being a "Manager". I say "MANAGER" because I just cannot believe that he is a manager..... A shift leader, possibly, but not a manager. Then Jamie decided to tell us that if we would've just waited, he was going to apologize when we got to the window. I DID NOT WANT HIS APOLOGY at this point. I still do not want it. This is not the first time I've had an issue with Jamie. He was purely rude one night when I came through by myself and I didn't say anything, I just said I wasn't going to come back. And I didn't, for almost 6 months, until tonight, in hopes that it was just a miscommunication on my part. But to come back and have the same thing happen again, and WORSE! He pissed me off to the extreme and his behavior was unacceptable no matter how my husband talked to him. If he is a manager, one, he is supposed to be setting an example for his employees and two, should be trained well enough to be able to handle any type of irate customer and dissolve the situation. Another comment he made throughout this ordeal was that "For $20 worth of food, people think they can talk to you anyway they want to." WHAT!!?? This wasn't even necessary. Lastly, he told us that "he didn't care if we ever came back to this sonic because he didn't want us talking to his employees that way." We have never had this type of mess happen anywhere we went before in our lives. If we have issues, we resolve it the right way, because the people who we deal with know how to deal with things professionally and not attack us because their feelings were hurt in the process. All we wanted to do was order our food and go home. At this point, I'm pretty sure that we didn't pay for our food and for that I am sorry. I do not mind coming in and paying for our stuff on a day when you can be there. Jamie was just so so so rude and his behavior was unacceptable and it didn't have to end like that. I hope that you guys record your conversations at the window like some other Sonics I have friends that work at do. He needs to be dealt with on a pretty high level and retrained or something. read more
