Unfortunately horrible reviews are justified. I Am dog sitting 4 dogs while my parents are on a cruise which means unless I lock myself in the bathroom I can't eat in peace. I am not from here, again just dog sitting. Had a terrible first time visit to the Walmart in Edge wood and desperately wanted food. I know sonic in general has terrible customer service and in California it's the same, but in California at least I have In and Out which is much cheaper and even in my small town that is much MUCH smaller (2000 people total), Edgewood ( population over 5,000) is far far worse. 4 cars total, as in 1 in the drive thru and 3 in stalls including my car. It was 3 pm....yep super late I guess? I was like I have to eat in my car if I go to my parents it will be cold and when I get there I won't be able to eat it. I waited 10 minutes...nothing.. okay again I can't eat at my parents it's 30 minutes away, waited another 10 minutes. Then another 20 MINUTES I moved stalls thinking that might help maybe the red button didn't work. Imagine my surprise when after over 30 MINUTES I go through the drive through after 30 seconds I hear "ummm yeah what's your order?? "....yep " what's your order" she sounded absolutely irritated and incredibly angry. Omg I am so sorry I upset you!!?I mean honestly how dare I ask for fast food and ask for it to be given to me in 40 minutes or less what a horrible inconvenience for you!.... It is not worth the effort or the price. Trust me if your just getting a basic small slushie go for it, otherwise you'll be more upset then just eating a frozen meal it's not worth the gas. read more

Normally, we have no issues with this establishment. However, on July 26th, we went and drove up. we ordered our food like normal, and my mother, who was with me at the time, found a piece of plastic in her sandwich, and then, as she was finishing up, she found another one and if she would've swallowed it her throat could've been damaged severely. read more

What was intended to leave a good review, ended up being a total fail. Few weeks ago, they had messed up our order. We called about the mix up. The manager on duty said she would make things better and put us on a list to receive two free meals. Fast forward to today, it had been a busy day and we didn't feel like cooking. So we went to take them up on their offer. The manager came out, grabbed our order on paper. We were asked to pull into their employee parking lot. The manager, herself, came out to give us our food for free and asked to leave a good review. We drove back home, only to find that they still messed up our order. Missing items and food not prepared to how things were asked. On top of that, the burger patties were very salty. The fried food that was ordered was over salted as well. read more

There are 3522 Sonic Drive-Ins in the US and you have found absolutely THE worst one! For over a year now most of the red buttons on the menu board have been broken! When you ask them, they say "yeah we know." No sign on them, nothing. Not sure how the drive thru has priority over someone coming to eat there, but they do. I watched 6 different cars pull into the drive thru, order, and leave before our order was taken! They have no outdoor cleaning protocol apparently. One order kiosk has had mud all over it for over two weeks! Today I sat there for 16 minutes waiting to order and heard two other cars that pulled in after us place their order!? Sonic has been around for 71 years. That's plenty of time get some kind of business standard established. Rock bottom customer service. For a faster burger, go to the sale barn and buy a calf. For full disclosure, my superior rating is to offset the other horrendous reviews that seem just so unfounded. Furthermore, I don't like reviewing fast food chain restaurants, other than service they're all identical! Nevertheless, I just can't see all of these onesies and twosies for this joint. We stopped in on the way to the McCall's Pumpkin Patch and were totally satisfied. So if you're reading, corporate folk, it has improved. Extremely prompt response on the intercom, fast delivery time after ordering and everything was correct. The actual grub was exactly what one would expect, so I just don't get all the negativity. Workers are really nice but I can't get past the sandy grit that was found at the bottom of every drink I purchased yesterday. All 3 of the Route 44 Cokes I purchased for myself and my kids had some sort of dirty grit in the cups. We moved to Edgewood in November; this was our second visit to this Sonic. The first time we went at night before they closed, the order was wrong and the food was cold. Today was the second time, we went around 5pm, once again the order was wrong. I ordered the bacon cheese burger, got charged for it, but no bacon. I said no pickles, seems like they put extra pickles on it since there were 8 pickles. My husband ordered french fries and got tater tots. It was not very busy, I'm not sure if they just don't pay attention to the order, just don't care or just incompetent. My advice, if you choose to eat here, check your order before you drive off or just keep driving by. Plenty of Sonics down the road in Albuquerque. read more

The food is good but service is slow. I know they don't have much help for employees. But still so slow.

We ordered two bacon cheeseburgers, they typically have burger, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. I asked for no tomato on mine. My sandwich was made just like I ordered, my wife's sandwich was not so right. Hers had the normal things but also had 4 pickles and some onion on it. This is not to mention the fact that whenever we order and bring home, a whole 3 miles, the burgers needed to be microwaved to bring them back to a more desirable temperature. Three miles is not that much and they should not cool off that much. But it must just be the altitude or something because the McDonalds here is just the same way. read more

Ever since Sonic opened in town about 6 years ago, I've had varying levels of food quality and service. I'll tell you one thing however, if you want really good quality ice cream or burgers, Sonic is probably the place to go. Convenience is a big factor because not only is there an App but there are always plenty of stalls to park your car at. Sometimes Mcdonalds may seem less pricey but their parking lot is imho a little more chaotic in terms of getting in and out of there. My only real gripe with this Sonic is that sometimes orders I put in where I just get a drink seem like they take a LOT longer than they should. However, it seems like at least lately Sonics food quality has increased to a significant degree. The burgers are delicious, the mozzarella sticks are great, tots, ice cream, shakes, chili dogs and everything else Sonic is best known for is great. The staff is always kind and polite. read more

This location has to be the slowest in the entire franchise. It takes a minimum of 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge you're ready to order. MINIMUM! I have waited over an hour before giving up and leaving. I have also had them charge $3.00 in tax on a $5.00 order. When I asked the girl about it she had a confused look and I was hungry so I just let it go. We usually only come here when we have a couple hours to wait for Walgreens to get our prescriptions ready. Otherwise it's just not worth it. read more

Last night, I placed an online order within their posted business hours. My online order was accepted and paid for. I arrived four minutes after my order was accepted and they were already closed. I caught an employee just about to drive out as I pulled in, she told me I'd have to call corporate to get my money back, which I did. I decided to give them another chance and boy do I regret it! I placed an "ASAP" order on the app and when I arrived, I had no place to pick it up, all the car hop spaces were coned off. Did they really expect me to waste time waiting in a super long drive thru line behind people who don't know what they want to order yet nor have they paid for it? While I waited, I called their landline and, APPARENTLY THE ANSWER IS YES, I AM expected to waste time waiting in a super long line behind people who have neither ordered OR paid, so what is even the FREAKING POINT of ordering ahead? ASAP my butt!!! She said the other option is to walk up to the patio, which was not really an option at all because the order screen apparently crashed, displaying the blue screen of death and the order button either didn't work or they ignored me. So it was back to the long time wasting wait at the drive thru line again!!! While they were nice, and the food was good, it didn't make up for my now being late if I could have canceled the order, I would have. I kind of suspected that the guy packing my order was asking way way too much of the bag he was putting it in. And sure enough, despite carefully lifting the bag off the seat once I got home, the bag bust right open. Ched-R-Peppers and french toast sticks all rolled under the seat. This was my first Sonic order (that actually went through) and likely my last. If you want cold sweets and hot grease, hold out for the Dairy Queen across the highway instead y'all. I know I should have. The irony is sonic is closer to my house than DQ. Oh well! If I'm eating this kind of crap, I should need the walk anyway lol. read more

I've been going here for 2-1/2 years. I've only had 3 complaints in that entire time. I've always had happy employees and quick service... unless the person in front of me in drive thru orders enough food for a football team. Even ordering at the stalls is good. Depending on the person at the other end, the voice might be too quiet or too loud. Still great service and great food. I highly recommend the peanut butter milkshakes and the Ultimate Meat and Cheese Burritos. read more

Well just visited this location on my way to Texas from California, yeah! A long way ahead to go still,. All I wanted was a tasty burger, something that wasn't McDonald's nor JackIntheBox so I though sonic was a better choice but clearly it wasn't I asked for a ultimate chicken sandwich with a regular burger bun instead of the brioche, everything was good until I added BACON a Dollar extra which i payed for & wasn't added in my sandwich, I'm so upset about that all I wanted was chicken & bacon was that to hard to do? Update: I went back to Sonic at 12:33pm on Saturday Nov. 23 2019. The young lady who took my order did a 5 star job and she got my order right. She greeted me with her name. She also read my order back and I understood her clearly. The name on the receipt is Olevia. The order did not take long and it was done right. My food was hot and fresh. The crew they had today did a great 5 star job. Keep up the great work. I am changing my review. Thank you very much. Old review- I think I know why it takes long in the drive thru. The order taking process is rushed so, the communication is poor. Clear communication is important. It helps the Sonic team understand what the order is so that, they can make the order right the first time. When everything runs smoothly, the order gets out faster. If you have to make an order 2 times because, it wasn't done right the first time, it can slow down the drive through. Sometimes the employee taking the order at the speaker don't even read back the order. When the order is read back, the employee is either talking to fast to understand them or they are talking to close to the microphone. The order should be read back slowly and clearly so that, the customer can understand. If the order is wrong it should be fixed at the speaker instead of the drive through window. The person at the speaker needs to slow down and make sure the order is correct so that, the rest of the crew can do their job right and get the costumers on the way quickly. If I have to travel to Albuquerque, I just go to the Sonic out there because, they know how to take my order so, they are faster. I know that a Sonic fast food place isn't as fast as McDonalds but, Sonic food taste better so, I would be willing to wait an extra 2 minutes just as long as they get my order right. read more

Passing through on our way to Phoenix, I wish I would have read the poor reviews before spending money here. Drive up attendant was rude, food took forever to be delivered and when it did, it was cold and we were missing half of the tater tots we typically were supposed to get; they definitely shorted us. The Sonic in Edgewood has now lost our business . We ordered $15 in food only had a $50 and they decided today that they don't take U.S. CURRENCY LMAO. Every time I go my order gets messed up the drinks are always flat, fries are hard and crunchy their burgers are sloppy they take forever with orders every time I go I'm there for about 30-40 mins I went tonight nobody but me was there and it took 30 to get 2 burgers fries and onion rings they gave me 2 of the same burgers instead of the burger my gf wanted better management is needed and employees need to work faster and not be so sloppy I would not recommend this sonic to anybody it's not worth the time for sloppy made food that might not be what you orderd not worth my time if I could rate 0 stars I would read more

Very bad customer service very slow and I went back three times with a messed up order and they just could not get it right

After waiting 5 minutes for them to take my order (you can't tell if they are even aware you're uot there) it took them another 20 minutes to indicate the oeder was on its way. After 20 minutes od this, asked the carhop where my order was and got lip. Finally brought my order with no drink and it was cold (go figure). Sent it back. 5 minutes later get a new order. The fries felt hot, so off to home - 5 minutes away. Opened the bag and the burger was so cold it must have come out of the refrigerator. So, bottom line, I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and been done sooner. read more
