I just went in on Sunday afternoon. the service was amazing! both Nahomy and Avis were very kind. they took great care of my sister and I and offered samples, gave us details about the business since it was our first time in there, and made us feel very welcome. when I went to pay I asked if the credit card tips were given to the employees, and I was told they are not, and the business keeps the credit card tips. (they were unsure where the credit card tips go) id like to emphasize that I asked about the tips, they didn't randomly tell me this. great service!!! just make sure you tip in cash please! Ice cream: GREAT Employees: the BEST Owner: keeps the tips that are given digitally. Yeah, the ones you give when you click the little button on the screen after paying with a card. Owner justifies this since employees are paid over minimum wage and get to keep cash tips. Owner also got onto employees for telling customers about this. What a shame. read more

I like I Scream Ice Cream! It's a retro ice cream shop that offers huge selection of ice cream flavors (and toppings). The environment also takes you back in time to see all the fun paraphernalia back in the past. While the ice cream isn't homemade, I think this shop offers a good opportunity to just come and relax and enjoy your time with some cool desserts. You can get to try many flavors in a single order (get upto 3 flavors and a free topping in a cup!) The staff was polite and let me take my sweet time to decide on what I wanted. The serving portion was generous as well. This place was popular! I came in around 7pm and there were 10+ people coming in and out! What a fun, quirky ice cream spot! The small space is part dining room, part retro toy shop, part coffee shop, part museum & lots of fun. Dropped in and enjoyed two small cups of ice cream (includes three scoops) and one topping. My son ordered Cookies & Cream with Oreo topping. The owner is super nice and has so many flavors to choose from including Blue Bell, but also flavors from Michigan and New York. I love how he displays his collection and lets people play with some of the retro toys. There's also a great kids area which was perfect for my toddler. Like a McDonald's Play Place but better. One thing I am so thankful for is that I left my card there by accident. He had kept it safe for me and I was able to get it when I drove back the next day. The owner took their passion for ice scream, transistor radios, music, toys and all things fun to build an incredible space. The first we did was pursue up and down the ice cream display case picking our flavors. It was exciting to see the traditional ones as well as a few others that are less common like spumoni. There's also a fabulous list of the 36 toppings that they have here that is laying on the case for you to check out. We made our selections and were impressed to see the owner bill is the person who is making everyone ice cream. What an incredible spot for ice cream in ABQ! The owner Richard has tons of antique stuff, games and machines that would entertain the kids and adults alike. The ice cream was top notch a lot from blue bell which we appreciated as Texans and many other places. We loved getting to talk to the owner and learn his story and how he built his shop. very rude owner. Called him after one of the kids of the side of road working to advertise his shop hit my vehicle with a small object as I was driving by. I called to inform him of the misbehavior of these children and he instantly dismissed my complaint stating that these kids we're honor students and such behavior wasn't possible from them. He then proceeded to hang up on me and wasn't willing to rectify the situation at all. very bad optics on this business. my family and friends and I will no longer be going to this place dispite years of loyalty to this ice cream shop. very sad to have to move on but better than being completely disrespected. I knew the old owner and he was always very kind. The new ownership, however, seems to be a different type of person. read more

There aren't a whole lot of places out there left where the owner greets you like they've known you your whole life, but this is how Bill greets everyone. This place feels like you're in a favorite shop on a small town TV show where you're the main character. It's a little overwhelming when you first walk in - there is not a single inch of space in this shop that isn't covered in nostalgia, pop culture, and antique collections, but as you settle in it just feels like memories. It's decorated floor to ceiling but it's spotless. And then you remember it's an ice cream shop. Tons of flavors await you, many are the Bluebell brand (can't go wrong there) but I highly recommend the rum black cherry or go old school and get a frozen chocolate dipped banana or banana split! There are as many topping options as there are decorations. Imagine whatever kind of ice cream you want, and there's a solid chance they can make it happen. Just a truly delightful place. We used to come in almost every week when the kids were younger (and Mr. Bill still owned the place). We stopped in today (4/2/25) after kiddo's field trip, but hadn't been in for a few months. We were greeted by Adrianna, who told us about the special, huckleberry ice cream, in honor of Val Kilmer's passing. She made small talk with each customer that came in while we were visiting, asking what brought them in to the shop, etc. The small talk was reminiscent of Mr. Bill's playful banter with every customer (especially the kids) that came in. Kiddo got the usual: a kids cup with cotton candy and Superman ice cream topped with sour patch kids, while I got a small mango sorbet. As usual, the ice cream was a yummy treat. We spent a few minutes looking at the decor, trying to find something we haven't seen/noticed before. Kiddo played in the play area for a while, remembering toys we played with on past visits. We had a great visit and will be back again soon. read more

Just a great 17-year family owned business with a great selection of ice cream. The owner Bill is an amazing host as well. Took my littlest one there today and although he had a full house with a kids from "innovate" there on a nice little field trip...Bill still went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and that our ice cream/experience was top shelf. You just don't find this kind of warmth/service every day... Eventually the kids cleared out and we were able to get our fill of Bill's delicious hand-scooped ice cream. It was also well worth noting the amount of regulars that came in for their fix in the 30 minutes we hung out. This is quite the unique find...You'll see once you walk in...there's something for everyone to enjoy...from Bill's collectibles that is!! Well done Bill and amazing customer service. Awesome location, but not a fan of the ice cream. The interior has tons of stuff: reel-to-reel cameras, candy machines, books, stuffed animals, games, video games, and so much more. The owner, Bill, was the only one serving ice cream and there were 15 people ahead of of me... so it took a while. Bill was super kind, which made the time go by quicker. Unfortunately, the Cookies N Cream had almost no flavor, as did the Chocolate Malt Cookie. The Rainbow Sherbet tasted fine, but I wasn't rainbow colored or flavored. read more
