A piece of bone, apparently, found inside my "Bone Buster Parfait"!

After a long wait to order, there was a delay as the credit card machine was malfunctioning. We finally ordered and received 2 Peanut Buster Parfaits. Mine contained, right in the middle, what appeared to be about an inch long piece of a bone! I'm lucky I didn't break a tooth or choke on it!

Supposed to be a whole chicken "tender"

do y'all think this is $20 worth of food mind you the chicken tenders are dry as dust... and they're literally all in this picture they're tiny granted I was the last person that served for the day I think but shouldn't that be the person to get sent off with the best meal today on a good note I don't know I've been to DQ in a while that used my favorite meal. I was OK with paying the 20 bucks for it but never again I won't be returning to DQ for the rest of my life. I don't even know why I came in the first place.. they didn't even ask me what size I wanted. They rushed me in the drive-through which I was having a hard time doing because I have a broken thumb and I almost dropped my drink and my food inside the car because of it like if you could've thrown through my window, he probably would have and I had been nothing but polite and nice. I looked at the windows. He might've been the oldest person in there at 1920 years old. So what can you expect a bunch of teenagers are running the place. I guess this feels in that blank in my head of why I don't see Dairy Queen's as often as they used to. They should contemplate doing a major overhaul on either food quality and/or training or their price points. Need to dramatically lower. I think the answer it's probably gonna be all three or you know maybe the person who decided to close theirs and the others was on something because this business model is not sustainable..

This DQ and Grill is attached to a gas station right off of I40. Not sure if you can order or dine inside. We never go inside. Instead, we usually use the drive thru. They tend to provide pretty fast service in their drive thru. Staff always wears masks and gloves throughout these Covid times from our observation. Final Vote: We love that ice cream!

This is what should be a mini blizzard, instead we got a shot of ice cream, they didn't even fill it, and half was just plain vanilla.

He walked away as I approached the counter. I was confused as I wasn't aware I had to order on the tablet on the counter. When I began using the tablet I was in search of the new mushroom burger they sent me an email yesterday about. Of course you know it's what I wanted to try. Sadly it wasn't on the menu on the tablet. When I called the employee for help I basically got the vibe he didn't want to be there and he was hesitant to approach. When he did come to the counter I asked about the burger even showed him the email to get told it's not out yet and it was coming soon. I found myself wondering why I even got the email if this was true. Needless to say the food came out really fast. I thought well that's good at least. The presentation was better than the experience. The cheese on the queso fries was pretty skimpy. There were way more fries than cheese which was disappointing. The burger I wasn't a fan of either. It needed more cheese and the stackers sauce tasted strange like it a chipotle sauce it wasn't the same as I recalled. I'm sad to say this is the second location I've had a bad experience with. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. I guess I'll have to stick to the central food hall because so far that's the only location that hasn't disappointed me like this yet.

The restrooms were retro, very 90s, run down but clean, and if I was running from the Sinaloa Cartel...I could picture myself hiding in a place like this. Almost like a mix between the films Memento and Breaking Bad. But yes, Lisa's Grill. I had to stop in at this Southwestern Flare Diner! It's situated inside the truck stop, with a very 70s & 80s atomic age diners vibe like that one scene in the Kingsmen movie. Loved the ceiling, bold colored red, glossy, with silver...makes Johnny Rockets look artificial. So I had to try their top picks on the menu. The Red Rooster -- country fried steak with red hot sauce, and their hatch chilli burgers. The food was ok, Id probably rate a 3.5/5. Menu is heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine. If your looking for a quick breakfast along route 66 in Central New Mexico, this is a good spot to take a break. Overall service, environment food I'd give it a 4/5. Seems pretty popular amongst the locals, and place is pretty packed for a lunch run. Yea, definitely come check it out!

There was a bit of live music on the patio after some rain. Both outside and inside spaces were plenty. The young server was very attentive and was on top of things. We went with friends so we sampled a few things. Our friends ordered the chicken bbq pizza and dry rub wings, while we ordered the chicken pesto and the New Mexican pizza. The thin crust on all pizzas was perfect, with a good balance between crunchy and soft. The green chile from the New Mexican pizza had a kick, the bbq chicken was tasty, and the pesto was smooth and mild. We all agreed that the pizzas needed more cheese. The wings were crispy but the rub didn't have flavor and the chicken was a bit dry. For our drinks, I got the Golden Ale while everyone else got La Madera. The Golden was smooth, lagers, with a bit of hoppiness. La Madera was a mild, dark, sweet ale that was quite good. Overall, this was a very nice experience on a rainy evening, with good brick oven pizzas and a nice dark beer. The wings, though could have been better. However, we are planning a second visit to try other items.

They call these 2 places "ghost towns" which is a bit of a misnomer. I do think that Madrid and Virginia City Nevada have a similar abandoned mining town vibe that we both found charming. And with the exception of the Virginia City Hat Maker, Madrid has better art. We came in on a Friday and just before a weekend music festival was to begin with the Mine Shaft being a major participant. We missed all than, but wouldn't have minded a little early live music. We snagged a nice outdoor table on the deck and enjoyed 2 different types of delicious brisket, along with generous portion of fries. I had a local beer, while Gayle had wine. We took our time and really enjoyed our time here. Until next time....
