Bob's Burgers is a staple in Albuquerque! They have been around for over 50 years and have locations throughout the city. Whether you are a local or a tourist, a taco burger is a must! The location off Central and Atrisco was the original location. I grew up parking, then walking up and sitting outside to have a good lunch. Only within the last few years did they knock it down and put a brand new building. Although the facility is nice, I was disappointed with the dine in seating. We go weekly and very disappointed today. 1:30 pm cold burgers, 7 dirty tables and floors. Employees not focused and not professional. There were others in dining room appalled by dirty eating area. Hello This message is to say Congratulations to Bob's Burgers celebrating 60 years. I want to say hello to all of the Salas family especially Bob and Christina who hired me when I was jus fourteen years old to work at their location on Central near Atrisco here in Albuquerque. This was my first job in 1982. This place was so many pupils first job. Bob and Christina treated all of us like we were their kids. The most loving and caring people who taught us so many things about the F & B industry, especially how to work hard and be responsible. Bob taught me how to count change back to customers the old fashioned way versus relying on the use of the cash register. I've only ever done it this way my entire life. Taught my own girls that method too. So much better that way. They taught me so many valuable skills that took me through my life. To elaborate would take forever. I love them, I have never forgotten them . When I saw you pictured in the Journal with the article celebrating you, I was moved. This whole in the wall has some great food! I went for the Taco Burger at first I was kinda sceptical about the combination, but after the first bite I was sold. The chile is awesome, a burning sensation within my mouth, but later that day my stomach was responding differently. I really did not care, I made up my mind to go later that day again. New experience, lesson learned. Lol! Ordered the Old Fashion Burger with the Green Chili Cheese Fries. Burger was a little sloppy but good. The fries were hot but the cheese sauce or the green chili made them unbearable to eat. I took two bites and my body went numb from the intense heat on my taste buds. Lol! Dear Cook, 1. there is a top and a bottom part of takeout containers. The top is smaller than the bottom, and fits snugly inside the bottom which has a little lip on it to hold the food in. When you put the food in the wrong side, and then over stuff the container, it explodes when you open it. All over your customer's lap. Thx for that mess. 2. Sliced American cheese has no place on a Frito pie. If you insist on using it, don't put cold chili on top of it. It won't melt it. Try heating the chili. Novel idea, huh? Dear Cashier, a stack of napkins covered in red chili is of no use to me. Just passing thru on my road trip first impressions was it reminds me of an A&W and menu had upper cheap prices so I got a quesadilla and a burger for the road and also got my cousin some food too any was like $25 for the two of us to order like two meals each. While I like the San Mateo & Menaul location for sentimental reasons, this Bob's Burgers is convenient when I find myself in the near-West Side of South Albuquerque. It's newer and cleaner than some of the other branches, and best of all, the service is pretty quick. When I'm able to plan ahead, I always call in my Bob's Burgers orders because otherwise I risk facing long wait times for simple requests. Yesterday, I was pleased to receive my three taco burgers just a few minutes after ordering them at the counter. It seems the price has gone up a little bit since last time, but they still remain an affordable fast food item. I sometimes forget how very spicy the ranchero sauce can be. This combination of potent green chile and melty queso makes up the flavor powerhouse of the taco burger, which also consists of half a burger patty and shredded lettuce in a taco shell, often with a slice of American cheese, though that happens irregularly. My taco burgers on this occasion were delicious and carried enough heat to preclude the need for any hot sauce or salsa. I recommend this restaurant to people seeking a convenient, affordable, spicy meal. The menu reads as a cross between a traditional American drive-through and a low-key Mexican taqueria. The person working the drive-through read my order back to me, made a mistake, I tried to correct her, not even a second later, and she told me she had already sent the order through and that it was their policy not to make changes. I came to Bobs Burgers about 5:30 Saturday the drive through line was about 8 cars deep I waited about ten minutes in the line. I decided I would get down. There was two people eating one paying in line. I ordered sat down and waited.. the ice Machine was empty it took the guy forever to fill it up. Employees aren't friendly or welcoming seem irritated to be at work and helping people. After about 20 minutes of waiting for a sad, cold and I was very disappointed with my overall experience. We ordered two combos from this bobs and they didn't have the common sense to put the two large green chilli cheese fries when it says clearly on the order two combos. Now I don't know if some monkeys are running the business or something but they gotta step up the game big time because this isn't the first time we've had problems with this establishment. They request for the customer to check the bags before they leave, well it should the other way around if Bobs staff are the ones preparing the food, they should be the ones " checking the bags" before they hand them out to customers. I went through the drive through and was waiting for more than 20 minutes. Even the cars behind me were honking. So I pulled around and went inside there were 6 little girls standing around talking so I asked if my order was ready. One started yelling and cussing. I asked for a manager the manager wouldn't come out but the girls continued with the attitude. One little girl came from behind the counter and assaulted me so I defended myself. Only then did the manager come out of his office. I called the owner Christina and explained to her what happened. She said she would take care of it but apparently nothing was done. I went by today because the owners car was there and they refused to serve me. I called the owner again and she didn't even know which incident I was referring to. I have a love / hate relationship with this place. I LOVE the chile, yet I know when I have it that my body will almost immediately reject it like an alien parasite in my intestines. Why, oh why must something that tastes SO good be so hurtful? Last time I visited the folks in ABQ, I went here for my yearly fix and got something called "christmas" on my fries, which apparently is some kind of mix of red and green chile. This place looks like a dive... so it attracted my attention. I've found some of the best food in "dives...." We were on the prowl for a good Green Chile Cheeseburger and when I saw the line and the full parking lot, that was the clincher. We waited about 20 minutes for our food and this place was slammed. Found out that this is the original location for Bob's. The Cheeseburger (I had the one with everything including Chile) was excellent. The Chile had the right burn! Burned going in and ... well you know the rest. The fries were perfect. Had some "plain" with ketchup and some with Chile and Cheese. The kids had shakes which were good. A drive in style restaurant. You can picnic outside in a covered area. We went on Taco Burger Tuesday at around 3 PM- it was slammed. After getting the tip from a lady eating at The Doghouse last time, we knew we had to try this creation of evil genius. She said the Chile fries were also the other best in town. So on Taco burger Tuesday they are 1.09 each. We were both off -with a hankering for some Chile, so we headed West to the Bob's location on old 66. The line was long and there were many orders called in too, so it ended up being a 25 minute wait for fast food,(a bit long). knowing this I would call in my order next time so the wait is cut down. Also they have no bathrooms or porta johns, so that is a bit inconvenient. We decided to order 3 Taco burgers a foot long Chile cheese dog, Xmass chile cheese fries, and a med Dr Pepper, it came to 12$. We finally got our food and everything was hot and fresh. The Taco burgers had a good crunch, they have Nacho cheese, and lettuce and maybe another sauce, they are mildly spicy. The burger is not outstanding, but as a whole it is a concoction worthy of stoner legend. Chile dog had a good smokey flavor and was a joy of a mess to eat. Fries were good, and unlike the Doghouse they do an Xmass chile option. The Chile sauce is fiery and delicious.To get on this chile sauce ride- you must me this tall, and have trained for it for a minimum of a year. It should not be ordered for small children, pregnant woman, and anyone with a tricky ticker. In all seriousness, I love NM Chile sauce, if I ever move away- I am going to have serious withdrawals, and fantasize constantly about my lost spicy lover. Other options here are milkshakes, floats and sundaes, Taquito's( they have a taquito boat- which is on my list to try next time), bigger burgers, I am not sure what a tortilla burger is but I am enticed. read more

I MUST make a stop at Bob's Burgers whenever I'm in Albuquerque. The first time I had Bob's I thought it was weird and didn't really like it. After the second time I was completely hooked. It's your typical greasy burger joint, BUT - the chile is amazing. It's a local favorite.The chile definitely isn't for the faint of heart so if that's not your thing, you might not like this place. I will usually order the frito pie (red chile) and rachero burger (green chile) and my boyfriend will get all of the above and a chili dog. The chile is hot, like you're wiping your nose and sweating hot, but as others have mentioned it's completely addicting. I think that the chile is what makes these dishes, otherwise they're probably just OK, but the chile is the star, so let it shine! The food is also really cheap! My boyfriend and I can get a plethora of burgers, hot dogs, frito pie, etc for under $20. I rarely give a place 5 stars, but this is one of my favorite dives ever. read more
