    Long drive through traffic
    Andrew S.

Wow. First time at a Sonic and using the drive through window today in Gretna. As I checked fellow Yelper reviews at this location, it was surprising of the low scores and comments about the service using the drive through service. So far, my sentiments would be matching several of my fellow Yelpers. I counted only 3 cars in the service parking lot and 4 cars ahead of us in the drive through line. I was pleasantly surprised to see a 75 cent discount on the ordering screen due to happy hour specials. The server was pleasant and friendly when we finally got to the window to pick up the drinks.

    Menu board.

Unfortunately, they've since merged with a donut shop and have a space in a strip mall. I think the business move makes sense but it really takes away half the reason I went here in the first place - the environment. The staff are friendly. It's almost never busy since they moved to the new location. I'm happy to report that the ice cream is still good! They have really fun waffle bowls that they make into ice cream nachos, great and unique flavors, and lots of toppings. There are board games in the store so you can sit and hang out with friends too.

As you approach and turn into the area there's gravel parking close by. What I loved about this place is that pets are welcome here! They even offer pup cups here! They also have a life sized pool game, corn hole, and some other activities to keep you entertained and enjoying the warm weather! There's a good variety to the menu and they have several different topping options! I had never had the kind of soft serve they offer here but was eager to try it out. It was interesting, the flavors you choose are twisted into the soft serve, it's a subtle taste. My boyfriend, his fam bam, and I were excited to come here after Father's day dinner and to make sure the guest of honor, his step dad, the father's day special!! We were lucky enough to check out some of their flavors and specials on their Facebook page! As soon as we got there I studied the menu and settled on their Butter Pecan Ice cream with hot fudge. It was savory and delicious. I liked how light and creamy it was. My boyfriend had the Horchata and loved that too! The rest of our group enjoyed their favors as well. His mom commented that she didn't taste much of the Peanut Butter but I think the flavors are meant to be subtle. It's all still new to me but I'm excited to discover more yummy flavors, and treat Rosie to some pup cups! If you find yourself in the are or just finished shopping at the outlets I highly suggest you head over to Cruizin Cones to get your ice cream fix!

The young man did not know the prices of anything and directed us to the sign to figure it out. The candies were not labeled and we were not even sure what exactly they were called so that we could check the sign to see the price. The prices were ridiculous. He then said, " I don't know why it is so expensive, if you want cheaper chocolate, you can go across the way". Then when the price rang up incorrectly on the register, (for even more than was posted on the sign we were directed to), he said we have new owners or managers or something, and I don't know what's going on. The ice cream in the cases appeared to be melting. This young man could not have cared any less if we had just walked out the door, and I wish we had. I feel that my mother was taken for a ride with $30 for six pieces of candy. We will not be back. There were NO other customers the store. Turns out 4 of the 5 pieces were stale, (they were eaten later that same evening). The raspberry truffle was rock hard and almost inedible. Our candy was put into a clear cellophane bag, which had no way to seal or close, and apparently they only have boxes for candied apples. Unbelievable.

My wife I think gets more brownies in her cup the yogurt but she loves them! They also have a nice selection of shakes, crepes, waffles, and shaved ice. It's quite a variety of sweet treats. They also recently started serving tacos, which I have yet to try but they look great. What we like most about the place is that the employees are always super friendly, the toppings are constantly filled and re-stocked, and the place itself is always very clean. We stopped in recently on a night then the owners were on vacation and thought maybe without the boss in town, the employees would let it slip on cleanliness. Nope. It was spotless. We are always impressed. There isn't a ton of seating so if you go on a busy evening, you might struggle to find a spot but it's rarely been that way when we've gone. Overall, I cannot say anything 'bad' about Yo Yo Berri. It provides just what we need when the cravings hit. We'll definitely keep going back.
