We just came from this Sonic location and I have to say the service that we received was appalling. They took quite a while to bring the order out, which I understand theyre busy. However, I was trying to redeem a coupon for a free milkshake and since it took so long for the carhop to come out, the coupon timed out on my phone. She tells me that its policy for her to see the coupon. Again, I work in retail as a supervisor and have a lot of patience when it comes to these situations. So I said ok no problem but can I please speak to a manager because this doesn't seem to be fair. She said she will send someone out. What makes me fired up about this is that the person who came out could not have been a manager. The way he (name was Cameron) handled the situation was so poor, I refuse to believe he was a person in charge. I explained the situation to him and he couldnt even put together a sentence that was relevant to what I had just explained. It was insulting to have had talked to this guy. It was a 3$ milkshake for my son and these people could not for the life of them figure out how to make their customer happy. read more

The staff was very helpful and friendly but the food was underwhelming. For a long time I kept seeing the Sonic commercials on TV so I thought I would give them a try. I was very disappointed in the food. You can get a better hot dog at Costco. The fries were not good at all. I live out of town but i work several nights in this area and my co workers and i like to stop by for milkshakes on our way home. I was so looking forward to my lemon pie shake but we were on the freeway before i realized that my shake was solid ice cream with the flavor all stuck at the bottom! I cant believe that whoever served it didn't even mix it properly. I tried salvaging it but all i had was my straw to try to stir it with but it didn't work. Way to go Sonic, EPIC FAIL. read more

This place is cool for me at least. I've only had one problem. This is when my mum decided to get some sonics. She came back to realized they forgot my cheesy bacon pretzel dog. She called them and told them, note the guy on the phone clearly said the full name of the dog. I went with her to go get it. The guy came up to the window I think he said the name again but I wasn't listening. We get home, I take out the dog and to my surprise it was a pretzel dog with just cheese! Really? the dude clearly said the name of the dog and somehow you forget the cheese, bacon, and onions?! I was pissed. Either than that they aren't to bad, but granted I only get the same thing the cheesy bacon pretzel dog with a slushy, so I can't judge on food. I didn't get to try a milkshake so I will have to come back. I really like the way they deliver your food on roller skates, one of the servers was dancing in his skates! That was very cool. Food is good--otherwise the service is the dumps! You have a 25% chance of having your order correct in the drive-thru! They will either add something you did not order, not add something that you DID order, let you drive off without giving you your complete order. I had an incorrect order last night, even though I had the girl repeat my order back to me. I had to park and get out and the guy at the door states that what I ordered is not something they make, even though when I ordered and had the girl repeat my order and she said that "sure", that could be ordered! He gives me a measly coin for a free drink and I still had to pay and wait for a new order. You're better off parking so you can yell at them when you get your order and it's wrong!! read more

Sadly won't be coming anymore. This is now the second time in a 2 wk period that we have come and received our beverages with stuff on the outside. First time order soda and soda was all on the side of the cup and on top of the lid. This time we ordered ice cream and what do u know there was ice cream all over the side of the cup and it was sticky. Have come here to this location for over 4 years but sadly the place is looking dirty, service has gone down hill. It's just not what it used to be. read more

I am a long time customer of sonic and have fond memories as a kid growing up. However this sonic in murrieta is the worst EVER! The food is consistently horrible, the orders are incorrect 95% of the time and this last trip takes the cake. To make long story short after my issue tonight the manager he couldn't have been 20 years old and the crew must have all been teenagers. Which explains the consistently bad quality, service and lack of training. I was fine with the mistakes but when the car hop started arguing with me about the food etc that was it for me. Plus i have noticed on more then one occasion the crew has been noticeably high, meaning yes smoking pot, drinking etc....and i knew this might happen but i was like nah, but yea someone pissed in my drink after i complained. I just wanted to get some spicy popcorn chicken (for my daughter) and mozzarella sticks (for me). It was 10:00 on a Sat. night, not too busy but waited over 20 mins in the drive-thru before I finally got to the speaker to place my order. I was told that spicy popcorn chicken is "no longer available"... okay; my daughter said that the regular would be fine. Drive up to the window where I was "greeted" by an unfriendly young girl who acted like I was interrupting her night by her needing to do her job (are these the same people who think they deserve to be paid $15 for minimum wage?). Anyway, paid over $10 (with my bank card) for these 2 items and when I was finally given my bag and my card back I just wanted to get home. When my daughter reached into the bag to get her popcorn chicken out, she told me, "Guess what Mom? No popcorn chicken! Only the mozzarella sticks are in the bag." I suppose that is partly my fault for not checking our order before driving home but I didn't think anyone could mess up a 2 item order. I was definitely WRONG about that!!! Well... tried calling the phone number on the receipt. No answer (not a big surprise there). Sent an email to the "Contact Us" link on the www.sonicdrivein.com website. They were quick to answer but only with a "sorry to hear about your unhappy experience" reply. No real apology, refund on my card or even a "here's a coupon for your next visit". After reading it, I felt like they told me "nice try, better luck next time?" Usually we go for the half price after 8pm shakes (which are GREAT) but after this lack of customer service I'm not sure if I want to go there ever again! Ordered a Coney Island Footlong. This is a chili dog with cheese, onions and mustard. Pretty much the only thing on the dog was onions. Hardly any chili, cheese or mustard and they didn't even fill the bun from end to end. Just the middle had a little bit of toppings. Never going there again. What a waste! read more

Idk, they weren't busy in the drive thru, I ordered a 12 PC of the Honey hot boneless chicken, and a order of tots. Tots were great!! But some of the chicken bites had no fried pieces, just chicken. Food was absolute garbage! I ordered a burger and a chili cheese dog... The burger patties were burnt so bad they were crumbling apart, and the hot dog was like leather. I cannot begin to tell you how many times my order has been screwed up or left this drive-in unsatisfactory. I work at a restaurant myself and I'm usually really lenient and very patient with people that make mistakes, because I understand that mistakes happen. However, almost every visit I have made to this location has left me wondering what happened. Whenever I order shakes, they put next to no syrup or mix-ins and it tastes like vanilla every time. Whenever I order food its got the wrong toppings. Whenever I order slushes, like I did just not 30 minutes ago writing this, I was brought the wrong size even though the receipt says otherwise. I know other Sonic Drive-Ins don't have this problem, and I've visited many others before. This one is just really convenient to go to. I'm just so flabbergasted at how unreliable this restaurant is and I wonder if the only reason I keep coming back is to see how they mess up next time. Great if you like plain Vanilla Shakes! That's all they'll ever give you. Ask for extra toppings for an upcharge to actually get the normal amount. read more

I love sonic! But not this sonic, some of the kids who work here are so kind but it seems more often than not the majority of them need a major attitude adjustment. I have never in my life waited so long for my food at a sonic over thirty minutes today and that's not the first time I've waited absurdly long time. Don't order cheese tots because you won't ever get the cheese on your tots. No ones ever been taught how to make Texas toast at this location. If your really craving sonic I'd suggest you wait and find another location to visit. read more

I don't know quite what has happened in the last 4 months, but every time I go to sonic has been worse and worse. On my last trip, I ordered 3 small slushies. They brought me (and charged me for) 2 regular and 1 small. If they were not going to children, then it wouldn't have been a big issue. I ordered a boneless buffalo chicken meal (#11) and this time it did not come with tater tots. The last time I ordered it, it did. Where is the consistency? I have been frequenting Sonic since 2005 in Kansas City. I have never had these issues. Worse of all: when I brought up these issues to the car hop (like I'm ever quiet) they said oh well, sorry, there's 25 people on the patio, and what are they supposed to do. How about FIX THE ISSUES. I didn't want a refund, just the same size slushies. 1 hour of "but their slush is bigger, it's not fair".....not worth another trip to Sonic. It makes me sad, because I do like the food. read more

Came here for two milk shakes. I was surprised to see two medium shakes totaling $10, but thought they would be delicious so I stuck with the order. After getting the shakes my girlfriend noticed that the side of her cup had a hole in it and was leaking, which is strange because they are so thick I swear there's concrete mix poured in. Mine was sliced about half way around. Went back through the drive through and an employee named Hunter told us to pull to the window and tell them what happened, btw.. Someone teach her how to use the speaker correctly. After telling the guy at the window the situation he pauses as if he wants me to keep talking. Anyway, past the awkward conversation and 5 minutes later our shakes are ready. Advice... Get a lot of napkins and a spoon for your shakes as these things are seriously thick.. Too thick to use the straws they give because they just collapse but somehow they manage to drip from around the lid. To top it off, they tasted like crap. Food is mediocre as well. read more

About a week ago, I went to sonic around 8 pm and it was terrible. I was in the drive thru and I was stuck. I was literally, waiting 37 minutes for a single cherry limeaid, and two orders of cheese sticks. I'm not exaggerating, I was watching the clock in disbelief. There were people in front of me and behind me so I couldn't get out. But there were only a total of 5 people in the drive thru and a few sprinkled through the stalls so they weren't slammed. I saw people skating all around and just talking to each other. I wish I pulled into the ordering stations instead so I could have just left. I don't mind waiting a little bit but 37 minutes for fast food?? When I finally got to the window she handed me my drink and the bag and I tore out of the drive thru. I was stopped at a red light about a block away and just had a funny feeling to look in the bag. There was only 1 order of cheese sticks. I almost didn't go back but I was so mad at that point i wasn't going to let them off the hook. So I went back. As you know there is no "inside" here to walk up to someone so I pulled into a stall and pressed the order button over and over again. after nearly 10 minutes of no response I walked right up to their kitchen door and opened it and said excuse me and someone finally came out. Long story short after another 10 minutes I had my cheese sticks and my freedom. Might have just been a bad night but I won't be going there again. I love my cherry limeaids though. SO ANNOYED we constantly go out of our way to go to Sonic for ice cream since half of the menu is ice cream with many choices for all. UNFORTUNATELY EVERY time we go their ice cream machine is BROKEN?? How is it that a drive thru is not able to serve HALF of their menu, by 8p they haven't found someone to come fix it? I'm only giving this Sonic location 3 stars because it's really the only Sonic around my area and I'm thankful for Cherry Lime-ade and tater tots. If I was just to rate this location on customer service alone, they would barely be pushing 2 stars. Service is HORRIBLE. The girl taking my order completely rushed me to decide by trying to finish my sentences and guess my order. She was so busy trying to guess my order that she wasn't listening to half my order and completely messed up the order when I asked her to repeat it. TRY LISTENING! The last thing you want to do is upset a very HANGRY (angry for being hungry) customer. My food came to my car lukewarm like I had received food that had been under a heat lamp for quite some time. The Onion Rings were sweet... is that normal? The batter was completely sweet which was absolutely disgusting with an onion inside. Lastly, I didn't appreciate the fact that the young boy that roller skated to my car was "expecting" a tip. He basically asked me if I wanted my 3 dollars change. I love sonic and there food, but the one time I go to this location I'm stuck in the drive Thur for 30 minutes. Not even exaggerating. Then when I finally get the window It took them about 5 minutes to get me my order of mozzarella sticks. I understand they help people behind the front with smaller orders. However they helped the lady behind me who had about 3 bags of food. The girl finally handed me the bag and I drive away thinking. "How hard is it to mess up mozzarella sticks." I check the bag just in case, and they gave me a damn bag of fries. I was furious. I drove back, luckily I only got to the gas station, and parked in spot and told them to fix it. So I placed an order at the drive thru they then inform me that I cannot pay with a gift card at the drive thru so I asked for a manager who was cocky and rude. He identified himself as Erik Esparza I believe. He said no gift cards accepted at the drive thru so I said you'd rather lose a paying customer than accept my gift card he shrugged his shoulders so I drove off. I returned to the stall and ordered I specifically asked for no tomatoes on my cheeseburgers they went ahead and put them on anyway.
