Super busy on a Friday night which is to be expected so it did take a little longer to have our order placed/receive the order. Ordered the chili cheese coney dog, chili cheese tots, pretzels twist with cheese, mozzarella sticks, ched 'r' peppers, a strawberry limeade slush and a Reese's blast. Sandwich was great. When I got to the shake, I noticed that the ingredients like the reeses and stuff was not mixed in. I would like to say I wouldn't even give this restaurant ONE star if I had the option. Today we went to sonic in their drive thru and was completely astonished by their employees lack of service and lack of hygiene! Not to mention they got our order wrong and we had to ask two separate times to get the food and drink that was not in the bag or handed to us. I asked for another sauce in the drive thru while ordering didn't get that. I asked for a medium drink didn't get that until I asked twice for it. Even though I paid for both things. While waiting for our food my fiancé and I watched a woman with long black hair in two ponytails bend down to get something that we could not see BUT while she was bending down her hair got put into the ice cream machine.. why do their employees NOT wear hair masks while in a place that serves food?!? SLOOOOOOOOW. I've waited 30 minutes here just waiting for two large slushies. I've waited in an empty restaurant for service, while the employees just chat, ignoring me standing there waiting to be served without even an acknowledgement. For a place called Sonic's, it must be an ironic misnomer. I suppose if one of your friends are working here, they give you priority over regular customers, since the employees certainly like to chat with their friends grabbing food. But for the average customer, look elsewhere. I'll drive to the Vacaville Sonic's before even thinking of returning to the local one in Pittsburg. As we all know there are limited locations in the bay area, so I was happy to find one near the house. The wait time is anywhere from 10-15 minutes in the drive thru, I believe they have been short on staff the few times I been because it is not the amount of customers waiting... Ordering a hamburger and tater tots have consistently been on the warm to cooler side never hot, which is a bummer especially for the tots as they loose their flavor quickly. C'mon guys, the least you can do is give me some hot food! Also, the patty size has shrunk noticeably, it is a thin layer of barely there meat. This location get a single star only because there is no way to give negative stars, my family and I went 2 nights in a row. 1st night: sat in the Jeep waiting for our food for over 20 minutes, saw cars that were not in the drive through when we pulled up leave with their food, when we finally got our food they offered to pay for our meal since we waited so long, GREAT!!!, however my wife's burger was wrong and what they had put in its place was a SOGGY breakfast sandwich..2nd night: we figured we'd give them another try and eat in the dining room this time, this time my wife's burger and drink along with our daughters popcorn chicken were missing, when they FINALLY brought the missing items out our burgers were COLD and UNDER COOKED!!!! The employees don't seem to be concerned about the customers and their satisfaction, after watching how they operate in the kitchen it is painfully obvious why people are missing food, getting the wrong food, getting cold food and waiting for ridiculously long periods of time for their food, when the orders are printing they aren't put in order or taped onto a tray in the order they come in....I wouldn't recommend this location, I'd rather drive to the Tracy location!!!! read more

You ever walk around a bad part of town and get something sticky on your shoe and you're not sure what it is, and your 100% sure that you don't want to know. Well if that weird sticky stuff got struck by lightning while standing in a puddle of Ninja Turtle ooze, and morphed into a restaurant, then that restaurant would be the Pittsburg Sonic. The service is on par with the lunch line at San Quentin. The cleanliness is roughly equivalent to your creepy uncle who lives in the woods and is prepping for when "da gobament" comes after his guns. If you've got a car full of starving kids and every other restaurant is closed, you're better off going Uruguayan Rugby team on your least favorite kid (stfu you know you have a favorite AND a least favorite) than eating at this monument to disappointment and shattered youth. read more

At first I was stoked that there would be a Sonic in Pittsburg, the closest one that I know of is in Tracy. Apparently it's been there for 6 months now. So we sat in the drive-through line for about 15 minutes to order our food. But the line wasn't moving, then we found out why. There was a woman and a white Ford Excursion that was holding up the line. Eventually she pulled forward and out of the line, but she parked in an area that was blocking other vehicles. She waited there for another 10 minutes. Finally the woman left her vehicle and went to the employees door. A Sonic employee handed her 2 straws. Yes this woman held up 6 cars for about 25 minutes for 2 straws.... Wow talk about lazy and selfish. Then the woman and the employee in green laid into each other with swear words and such. The F-word and B*itch was used by both the employee and the woman from the Ford Excursion multiple times. I thought they were going to throw down. I thought I was going to get lunch and a show. I was let down. :( I get it, the employee was ticked off that this woman held up the line for at least 20 minutes for 2 straws. Yes the woman in a white Ford Excursion could have left her vehicle and went inside and got 2 straws, then carried on her merry way. However, an employee should never swear at a customer, no matter what. Both people, the woman in the white Ford Excursion and the employee in green were in the wrong. Once I finally got my food I drove away, little did I know our order was wrong. I paid for bacon on both of my burgers, but we didn't get any bacon. I was let down again. After reading all these reviews this sounds like the norm here. I will probably be going back to Tracy from my Sonic. read more

So I gave it two tries because I love Sonic. The first time I waited over 45 minutes to get in and through the drive thru for two drinks. The drinks were watered down and barely had ice in them. It was obvious the drinks had been sitting there melting in the 25 minutes it took from ordering to getting to the window. Two cars in front of me had a huge order and watching the person at the window it was obvious their order was wrong and was missing items. Instead of having the person pull to the side so Sonic could fix the order correctly while attending the ten cars in line they made the rest of the drive thru wait 10 more minutes while they got the order correct. The second time it was 20 minutes in the drive thru. I order a medium chocolate Oreo shake, it's repeated to me and the price is given. I pull up to the window and receive a vanilla Oreo shake. I hand it back and say I ordered a chocolate Oreo shake. The girl looks at the receipt and says the receipt says Oreo shake. I then say well it's not what I ordered nor is it what was repeated when my order was taken. She takes the shake back and states they will fix it. One minute later I get the shake back with Hershey syrup squirted on top. I didn't have the time or energy to argue about it so I took it and left. I will never go back to this place. It's super unorganized and obviously customer service isn't a priority. It's a mess, get your life together Pittsburg Sonic. You're giving Sonic a bad name. read more

They also added an EV charging station here as well but i'm not even able to charge my car because it is always being taken by non EV cars which is a disappointment for me and to those who would like to charge while they eat. It took 25 minutes to get into the parking lot, then once at the parking stall, waited over 30 minutes for service, the red light continued on but no one was attending us. We then decided to head inside as there was no line but were told their lobby was "closed" while other patrons were inside. So now waiting another extra 25 minutes just to ORDER 3 items, who know how long it'll take to receive them. The employees just seem to not care. The worker who was "guiding" cars into the parking lot was on her cellphone and speaking with other coworkers. I came with the expectation of a long wait time. I arrived on a Saturday morning around 10:20am for the drive thru. I spent a total of 25 minutes. Too long for fast food and I'm hoping they learn how to run the business without needing customers to wait just to enter the property. The problem I had was with the food order. I ordered 2 slushes and 2 JR DELUXE CHEESEBURGERS. The order taker confirmed what was included on the burgers. Got my order and didn't think nothing of it. The slushes were correct and tasted fine. I took the burgers out the bag a little later and was a pissed. Although the burgers were properly labeled, they were made as JR BURGERS. If you look at the nice pictures of Sonic's menu on their website, you can see that there is a big difference between these two items (missing the cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion). It wasn't worth my time to go back. I definitely won't be back for awhile and when I do return I will have the website open so I can make sure my order is correct! This Sonic has been open for months now, so I decided to check it out as the kinks should have been worked out by now. There were about 5 cars in the drive thru and two cars in the ordering bays when I arrived. From start to finish, it took about 45 minutes for me to drive off with my food. I ordered the #5 chicken club toaster sandwich with tots and a strawberry Sprite (nothing fancy, just basic items I saw on the menu). By the time I'd received my order, the cashier attempted to give me a plain Sprite. I reminded her of my order and she said they didn't have strawberry (why not say something BEFORE taking the order and charging me extra for it?). I told her to add another fruit and she decided to just throw some cherry syrup in. Being too tired to make a thing of it, I took the drink and left. The food was meh...not terrible, but certainly not nearly tasty enough to put up with a 45 minute wait and a sassy drive thru clerk (she wasn't rude to me but I saw and heard her being rude to other customers). None of the staff seemed to give a hoot, including the shift manager. Save yourself the aggravation and go to In-N-Out or Chick-fil-A...this place isn't worth it. read more

Today's experience at Sonic's will most likely be my last for a long time. At first, the line to get into the parking lot/stalls was messed up with people scattered all over. We finally were able to get around to the other side where 3/4 the stalls were unoccupied. Secondly, the woman taking our order was having much difficulty understand our order which was not complex, where to the point we just had to go with what was on the screen. Lastly, we ordered two mini sonic blasts after finishing our food. It took 45+ minutes for just those two blasts. I arrived at Sonic Store 6655 (Pittsburg, CA) for my first ever visit approximately 9:56 pm. There were four (4) guests in our group. Three (3) of us walked into the dining room immediately and one (1) was delayed at a traffic light in a different car. Since I had never been to Sonic before, It took time to place my order. My card was charged at 22:01. WHILE the next two people in my group were placing their order, a young woman with long braided hair, began telling the cashier, Brandon, that the dining room was closed and to stop taking orders. THEIR order was rung-in ~10:05pm. Right afterward, our 4th group member walked up to the register and was immediately told by the braided-hair woman repeatedly that the dining room was closed. Brandon, our cashier knew we were all together-- heck, we were all sitting at the SAME table, and continued to ring-in the last guest's order amid a manager SCREAMING from the back, "BRANDON, STOP TAKING ORDERS! THE DINING ROOM IS CLOSED!," for ALL of us in the Dining Room to hear. I asked for the "Manager on Duty" (as instructed on my RECEIPT), so I could explain that we were ALL together and to ask for some flexibility, since two of us had never been there before and we had separate orders. The manager NEVER came-- she sent word that she was busy. We finished our meal without ever talking to her. We left the store ~10:30 pm. The 4th in our group, who had been in the crossfire of the braided-hair team member and Manager both SHOUTING at Brandon, stayed behind to also attempt to talk to the Manager. The food I ordered was exceptionally good, however the behavior and attitudes I experienced inside the store were appalling! I don't intend to return to this location. Even if I were to eat OUTSIDE, I would be thinking of all the abuse being served-up INSIDE. P.S. Part of the delay in ringing-in the second of three orders was confusion of whether or not the shake machine was working. I was told it was and then minutes AFTER my order was placed, Brandon came back to tell me, "NO, we're out of banana," he then offered me strawberry instead. That FURTHER pushed us past the 10 pm closing of the dining room. Is it corporate policy to cut people off, who are waiting in line, when the Dining Room "Witching Hour" arrives or are guests supposed to be allowed to dine together?
