This is the closest sonic in our area - not many sonic locations in Florida from what we've seen. It was a decent sonic experience, the staff was friendly. It wasn't super busy but there was a bit of a wait to get our food. No issues with the food though - and I forgot how good the ocean water was! They have the traditional stalls that you can pull into for ordering and a drive-thru as well - there were also a few tables out if you wanted to hop out of your car and eat there instead of ordering to-go. We travel down to see my dad quite often. We stopped at this sonic driving on Ridge Road in PortRitchie. Service was terrible. The cashier was rude. We asked for a senior discount. The cashier told us that senior discounts are not available there. However, when you go online for discounts sonic is a participant so when we got up to the window, we asked again for a senior discount , the cashier said hold on let me speak with my manager 45 seconds later he came back to the window and said my manager said we don't offer a senior discount. It's a franchise maybe that one does not do it but I thought they were all the same. When we did call the corporate office about the discount and the rudeness of the cashier our message and complaint went nowhere read more

The manager looking lady who screamed at me and slammed the window shut for trying to ask a question actually called the police on me for doing nothing wrong. I get it, safety reasons - I shouldn't walk up to that window - but I didn't see any staff anywhere else and it was my first time to this location. Let's put it this way. Thank God and the Angels I went to my car bc I didn't think police would actually show up. Two Sheriff SUVs to be exact, a few minutes later. I'm brown and she's white. I don't know what the police are like out here and I am NOT going to risk my life over a Sonic burger. This woman who works here shouldn't be there and also the staff around her seem used to her attitude bc it's as if no one cares that she's screaming like it's "just another day" with this woman. Only giving this location one star because I have to in order to leave the review. I pulled up to the drive-through and the employee instead of asking me. How may I help you, they said to me I'm so sick and tired of you People showing up here. I told her oh so does that mean I should leave then considering you don't feel like taking my order. I then proceeded to tell her I would not want her to make my food with that type of attitude. Who could trust someone with there food with that behavior. whoever is running this place as far as management goes. I think you need to pick your staff a lot better than what you're doing. So after seeing all those commercials in the Miami market, and with VAGUE memories of the one we had in Homestead wayyy back in the days, I had the opportunity to try one during a business trip to Florida's West Coast. If I only had eaten the Strawberry Sundae, this would undoubtedly be a 5 star review. Served to the brim in about a 20 oz cup, it was filled pretty close to the trim with a thick sweet vanilla syrup, a substantial balance of strawberry syrup and a cherry on top (literally). Heck, I'd be more than willing to overlook the extra ten cents they charge for the berry. Even the chicken burger is 4, 4.5 star territory. The portion is adequate for the price, and the seasoning has a mild kick to it. They listened to my opting out of mayo, and were generous with the BBQ sauce (very important for me.) However, I have to take a star and half off for the fries. The portion was small for the price, and the taste too plain almost as if they had just refried frozen supermarket fries. 4 Stars in total, since they get an extra 0.5 for the cute waitress on roller skates! read more

Spent 40 bucks on meals for my family. Waited half an hour for the food, they weren't even busy. Got home and my daughters cheeseburger had no cheese on it, my sons M&M milkshake had no M&M's, my chicken strip meal had like 20 tater tots and only ONE onion ring (which sadly are my fav), and my adult nerds drink was child size. Drive 25 min out of my way to come here to get the toasted s'more shake. After waiting at the drive-through speaker for a 3 minutes he comes back and takes my order. Then says "we don't have the marshmallow whip or the chocolate chips is that OK?" No, it's not OK. You don't have most of the ingredients for the s'mores shake?? Never got to the food. Pulled into the drive thru "it will be a ten minute wait". So we parking in a booth. Someone finally came over the speaker . Was told it was broke and I need to move to a different booth. Novel Idea, put a sign on it that says it's broke! So I moved and was apparently sent to the back of the que again. Went to Sonic the other day just to grab two drinks. A route 44 cherry limeade and a route 44 ocean water. Sometimes you just gotta get that route 44 to get you through your day of running errands. There was no one there in the line or parked. It took a few minutes for them to acknowledge us at the speaker, we ordered drinks, drove forward. Sat at the window, no one ever opened the window. We did hear a guy yelling and then saying F*** then realized another car was now behind us. Still never opened the window. Mind you we only ordered two drinks. 5 Minutes, never opened the window. We were tired of waiting so we drove off. When we looped back around the other car was sitting there with the window still closed. Never got our drinks which was a disappointing start to my day. I think they need help on the hiring here as we always have issues, but this was by far the most ridiculous experience. Maybe take the covering off the windows so we can see in that may help too. This was a while back but better late than never. One of the times that I have been the most sick in my life was when I got a milkshake at this Sonic. This was not just bad milk. I was working at the time and I had to pull over in a parking lot and began projectile vomiting and diarrheaing and it would not stop. I then could not eat and I had a fever for 3 days. On the third day of not being able to keep food down I went to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital where they told me they do not treat food poisoning and I was dismissed. read more

Pretty good food and pricing is not bad. Mixed experiences with staff and waiting time for food. Mostly good and fast preparation. However, occasionally staff is more interested in their personal lives than serving customers. Have been there when customers came, waited and left because no one wanted to serve them. Once waited over an hour for two milkshakes with only one other customer served while I was waiting, others left because of the long wait. Employees were easily seen inside talking/fighting with each other not interested in customers or orders. Then, finally the girl handed them to me instead of on tray. When I grabbed them in the middle with both hands in surprise entire contents spewed out on me, my clothes, and my car. (steering wheel, floor mats, seats, dashboard, floor covered in milk) I asked her for warm water and napkins while trying to clean up enough to drive but she gave me two small napkins and water with ice in it which obviously did nothing to help. Summary, we waited for drinks from 3:45 PM to 4:20 PM that we never got. Problem: We pulled into this Sonic and when ready to order we pressed the magical red button. After waiting for fifteen minutes and pressing the button multiple times we moved over to the next slot thinking that maybe ours was just broken. Another five minutes of waiting later we decided to go through the drive through. While waiting for our turn to order, two cars ahead of us gave up and left. As soon as we pull up they prompt us for our order and we give them a fairly simple, ocean water, java chiller, and a soda. The cashier tells us our total and we scoot up one car length, so that there's one person ahead of us and they are at the window. They sat at that window for 20 minutes, where the cashier came to talk to them twice in that time span. Finally, they were given drinks and told to pull up to a spot and they'd get their food brought to them. We moved up to the window, and sat there from 4:02 until 4:21 and NOT ONE PERSON came to talk to us. Nobody took our money, nobody greeted us, nobody even made eye contact. After sitting there for 20 minutes, we left. This whole ordeal was extremely irritating, and not to add to the fact that we had TWO children in the car, one 4 year old and one 9 month old. Had they opened the window and just said "Hey, look, we're super behind today and it's going to be a little while." That would have been fine! But we were given NO excuse, no compensation for our wasted time, nothing. So we took our business somewhere else, and will continue to do so. read more

The drive through at this location is the slowest I have ever seen in my life. I was there yesterday and it was the longest wait to get your order in. The car in front was there when I arrived and I waited at least ten minutes before I told to go ahead and pull up and I would follow. It still took us an additional ten minutes to get our orders in and get our food.it will be a long time before I ever visit this location again. Service was great!!! Only problem was when I went to pay with my debit card, there was no option to tip. I do not carry cash on me typically, so I had to dig in my purse for change to give to the server. I think this is a BIG problem. Great Menu choices and reasonable prices. Drive thru wasn't crowded. Husband had some questions about things and the young lady over yet another messed up intercom, couldn't answer them, she had to get a menu and was yelling at someone about the items. We placed our order. Waited almost 20 minutes because our order was messed up. The young ladies were very flustered and confused with barely 6 customers, combination of the drive thru and outside dining area. We were given extra drinks for the long wait, which you know in thus Florida humidity and heat is appreciated. They were ice cold and so good. We ordered the foot long chili dogs with tater tots fir husband and mozzarella sticks for me. The oil needs to be changed in the fryer. Tater tots tasted like fish and potatoes. Mozzarella sticks tasted like fish and cheese. Chili on hot dogs was a little salty but rest of it tasted great. 2nd time there. We'll budget out a few bucks again and return.
