Finally found a GREAT breakfast in the area, which I will gladly drive the 45 minute distance for. The food is just great, with its variety, ambiance and reasonable pricing. Solid but not amazing breakfast/lunch restaurant. We came in around 8:00 am on a Saturday so it was fairly empty. Ordered the pancake combo, which comes with two pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Then added some toast. Everything was solidly good, I was just kind of disappointed with the toast? To me, if you name your restaurant after a specific food item I feel like that item should be more than just basic toast. I was expecting some decently great bread. Toast was one of the first places I tried when I moved here. They do get very busy but I've always had a pleasant experience. The food is always tasty from what we have had and the staff is friendly. There have been some times where when they are busy it's harder to get anything during your meal if you need sauce or condiments or refills but the servers come over with a smile even being super busy so it makes up for it! read more

While visiting a friend in Tampa I found this beautiful gem, with topnotch customer service. We were seated as soon as we arrived and it was clean, to be so busy, on an early Sunday afternoon. Stopped here for breakfast because I was in the mood for some diner food. It seems they're known for their sandwiches/grilled cheese, but the breakfast menu is pretty standard. I ordered the Belgian waffles with eggs and sausage, as well as a Cuban coffee frappe. The food came out quickly and the waffles were huge and perfectly fluffy. The eggs and sausage were no frills but still tasty. The frappe definitely lived up to the name, it was VERY creamy and foamy. The coffee portion was really good, I almost wish there was a little bit more in it. Service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. I felt the prices were very reasonable. No bar so don't think you're going to get a boozy brunch. This place is an old-school breakfast place with a modern avocado-toast feel. Parking is plentiful since you're in a strip mall. Booth and table seating available; and I'm pretty sure there were 2 or 3 outside seating options but it's on the sidewalk of the strip (not a patio). We just got home from a take-out order from here (normally we like to eat there). My husband ordered country fried steak, we received a piece of chicken. A literal piece of just baked chicken. It's not even the same meat. We called to get it swapped out for the correct meat and instead of any of us coming to a rational solution, whoever answer the phone argued 3 times "no you ordered chicken". And then told us the food has already left they can't do anything about it. I can assure you I did not order a piece of baked chicken for breakfast. All they had to do was swap out the meat. Toast is a small cafe in a strip plaza, when you enter you will notice the definition of "Toast" for Europe- toast is what we refer to as grilled cheese and they have an entire side of the 2 sided menu dedicated to all sorts of varieties of Toast! I however was here for breakfast and while the chalkboard loaded with specials was tempting- I settled on Strawberry-Banana Pancakes with Cream Cheese drizzle! My daughter choose biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs on the side and my future son-in-law opted for crepes! The pancakes- huge, fluffy, and loaded with fruit- the whip was on the side of the plate, and powdered sugar was sprinkled over the entire plate! Mine was the first dish to be set down and earned ooohhhs and ahhhs from the kids as it look delightfully delicious! And IT WAS! I could barely eat half there was so much! Biscuits and gravy w/ eggs on the side. Biscuits were flaky goodness- not hard or over baked at all! The gravy tasted made from scratch- I know the difference between can and not- this was good and my daughter said her eggs were cooked perfectly! Banana & Chocolate drizzled Crepes with homefries as the side and Connor added an extra side of 4 sausage links for $2.50- great deal! He loved the homefries- they had a little kick and had peppers cooked with them. The crepes were light and delicious as well- perfect blend of flavors. The sausage of course was delicious too- my daughter and I stole one from him! YUM! Service was spot on- my daughter and I tipped well for the stellar work! Prices were excellent too! We had to wait, but the food is so good, it's worth waiting for. Once seated, our server was exceptional, and we had refills, extra napkins, and whatever else we needed. The cole slaw was creamy and delicious with my chicken wrap. One friend had the delicious french toast special of the day and the other had a Texas omelet on toast with a side of slaw. Everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back! Note: we were glad that masks are required during this pandemic & we felt safe. Overall, the restaurant itself is a 3 star, however, our waitress, Karen, definitely deserves a 5 star. I ordered the Spanish (creole) omelette which was kind of misleading, being Hispanic, this was not a Spanish omelette that I know of. It's what I would expect to find in New Orleans except not as spicy. I think to serve the dish justice, it should be renamed to simply Creole Omelette or something like that. The omelette itself was cooked good and the sauce is like a vegetable stew w/ a bit of a zing taste to it. Not bad if you like Creole type of food. The hash browns were cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside and soft in the middle). The Rye bread was just fine. Coffee-- I am a huge coffee lover--- and I have to say, unfortunately, it was a huge caffeine let down. I wish they had dark roast as an option because the regular is just a bit too water down for myself and The Hubs. The Hubs ordered Belgian waffles, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs over easy and Hashbrowns on the side. The waffles was average... missing something though. It didn't have that fluffiness to it. The eggs were done perfectly and really good. The sausage links were average; good. Although, we arrived early like first ones there early, overall the restaurant atmosphere was comfortable and clean. A little disorganized at first then about 8am, the New Port Richey locales started to pack in and by then Karen wasn't doing everything by herself. My sister had the egg in a basket with a side of bacon (perfectly cooked! Crispy but not burnt. Muy importante) and hashbrowns. She gave her food two thumbs up. About average price for a brunch place, above average food (at least the one meal we had while in the area).
