I finally decided to come to "Sonic Drive-In" in Shirley. I must state this, "The place was really good!" Let me start. You pull in and there are stations lined up outside. You pick one and someone comes over the intercom to take your order. The price and items are displayed in front of you. Paying is a bit of a pain. If you have a card, you stick it in the kiosk to pay. But for Apple Pay, you wait for someone with the Tap Device. Unfortunately for me, the girl how came out was not so friendly. Number one, she forgot the machine, but I was hungry. They can't give you the food until you tap, so I had to wait. I tried joking with her, but she wasn't having it, I took my food and started digging in. The milkshake was incredible! I got the Oreo cookie shake and it was better than McDonald shake by far! It was thick and frosty. I really enjoyed it. The fries and the tots were great too. I only wished they gave you more for the price. The cheese sauce and the Sonic sauce were great too! But again too little portions. I guess with inflation, cheese is in high demand. Now for the grand finally, the burger. I can honestly say it was incredible! The sauce on top was amazing, the cheese, almost too much; and I love cheese. And the beef tasted as good as a Wendy's patty. I didn't find a thing wrong with my meal. I only wish for better service. I guess the full package at a chain restaurant is out of the question.

I don't understand the hype based on the quality (or lack thereof) of the food. Cool menu. Cool concept. Just doesn't deliver. We had shakes and some food. Food was gross and shakes were gritty. Not the consistency you want or enjoy. It's my 2nd Sonic experience at a second location. Wasn't impressed with either. Won't be back.

This is how the Shirley NY serves the corn dogs. Burnt!

The person who took our order at the drive thru was so rude. So unprofessional. Horrible service.

They aren't here to rip you off, I've found some great beers at decent prices. Pick your battles, some things are expensive, but hell if they aren't worth it. They always serve with a smile, they are willing to break apart 6packs so you can have a couple, and they've got taps behind the register for sampling and growler fills. I'm truly lucky to ha e them so close to home, I tell everyone the same thing I'm telling you fine, respectable yelpaholics: go check them out. Tell em I sent ya... I dnno why... ignore me, I'm drunk.

Well, if that's the case (and it is) then Swiftway is my summer house because this place does not disappoint when it comes to quality beer choices and styles. Monday night I swung by here with my girlfriend as I've been entirely bitten by the pumpkin beer bug. After sweeping Beverage Barn of the styles they were sellin', I wanted to take a look elsewhere. I think this was only my second time here, but this trip solidified my desire to return again and again. We strolled in and as we entered, each side had stacks of beers displayed, and better yet, the whole right side was a plethora of pumpkin choices. And even better than that? They were mostly different options from what BB had on its shelves. And even better than that? (okay I'll stop) They have a similar set up as BB in that you can pull single beers from any open pack and create your own six pack. I ended up with a couple more than that just because I have a hard time limiting myself to only six. Beyond the front displays, there was a large freezer of cold beer choices and then an aisle with tons of styles as well as half of that aisle dedicated to limited release bottles and beers that might be a little off the beaten path. You'll also notice a section for ciders (which intrigued my girlfriend so she decided to create her own little cider six-pack). Around the corner you'll find your macro section as well as some overseas options. This was where I spotted a six-pack of Krombacher Dark (a recent discovery at a nearby German spot that I was hunting for) and immediately grabbed that for purchase. At the counter, we were greeted by the friendly staff member (possibly owner?) who knew his stuff about beers as he commented on a few of them. Added bonus: if you happen to have a New York Craft Beer Club card (it's totally worth the membership) you'll get 10% off your brews. There's also a growler station with a nice handful of beers on tap for purchase. Overall, I left here happier than a kid in a candy store (because, hey, it's kind of like an adult candy store, right? Right). Once I plow through my current bunch of beers I know I'll be returning here (you know, my summer house) to find plenty more of the good stuff.

Riverhead Beverage has steadily been growing as an awesome craft beer supplier for the East End of…read moreLong Island. Their growler station always has at least 5 different beers ready for fills, with a majority of those lines being connected to beers from local breweries. They have an extensive craft beer selection that nearly takes up half of the store. The selection is almost always changing, and what is in stock is constantly being updated. One of my favorite things about Riverhead Beverage is that they do a lot of leg work to get special one-off beers that would be difficult to find otherwise. Whenever they are able to lock down a case of a special collaboration (recently Sierra Nevada/Dogfish Head Life and Limb) or a limited production/release (Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA), they post about it on Facebook, letting you know when it's going to be in and how many bottles they have. They also occasionally run contests where they basically draw a name out of a hat and you win some beer related prize. Recent prizes have included a Wooden Corona Beach Chair, A Budweiser Weber Grill, and a Bud Light iPod Speaker Tower. And it costs nothing to enter the contest. There is nothing wrong with free stuff. Ever. My only criticism with Riverhead Beverage is there 22oz. bottle, or bomber, or 750mL bottle, selection is thin. There's about 4 full rows of shelves of 6-packs and only one row for bombers. I think criticism may even be too strong a word for it. My second favorite beverage distributor in Suffolk County.

We had the absolutely worst experience with Kevin from Riverhead Beverages…read more We should have known not to use them when we had to chase them just to get a response and quote for an event we were having, but tried to give Kevin the benefit of the doubt after he assured us everything would be great because he's been in the business for over 20 years. We asked for a 10am delivery. Kevin called the morning of and said they were running late and would be there at 10:30am. They did not show up until 11:15am (45 minutes later than the proposed late arrival). Our guests arrived at 11am. We checked the invoice and they didn't even have the house number on the invoice and that's why the drivers were late- yet no one called to ask for it. When I said our guests were already there and now waiting for the drinks to be setup Kevin's response was "I didn't think your guests would be there at 11am". Our guests had to tap one of the kegs to help out because the delivery guys were busy packing the cans in a cooler because they were left out in the sun of their pickup truck and arrived warm. There was not enough ice for the kegs or beverages so we had to call another distributor for help. When I called to ask for some type of compensation or refund Kevin was extremely rude. He asked me what I think my refund should be and I said $200. He proceeded to get annoyed and tell me I was crazy and said he'd refund for the ice- which we didn't even have enough of. When I told him I found this to be unprofessional he actually had the audacity to be rude and threatened to take back the kegs. I work in customer service and am very patient and understanding because these things happen. However, as a business owner you would think you would try to be polite and understanding then try to work with your client to find a solution rather than act out and be rude. Kevin was honestly one of the most unprofessional people I have ever worked with. Considering we paid in full upfront in full and were reassured we would not have any issues. I do not think it was too much to ask for to have the services we agreed upon and paid for to be fulfilled. I don't recommend Kevin's "business" Riverhead Beverage.
