Wow...just wow...truly the best fried chicken I've had in a long while. Always pass this place but never tried it, reason why will be stated at the end of this review. The fried chicken was served hot with warm chicken juices dripping out with every bite. The chicken was well fried and well seasoned. Not overwhelming with spices that at most chicken places the mixture of spices doesn't end well. But these 5 guys got the seasoning just right, subtle and balanced flavor, not just on the outside skin but seasoned straight through to the bone. And the sauce it comes with only enhances the flavor experience. The waffles were excellent, they obviously use the best waffle mixture but most importantly it was not hard or overcooked. I also had the coleslaw which tasted amazingly like homemade. Again nice balanced seasoning with just the right amount of kick. Now here's the sad part...the parking! If these guys relocate to a strip mall with endless parking, they'll have lines out the door all day long. Luckily, the chicken I got was on point. The skin was crispy perfection, and the inside was juicy and moist, but definitely not undercooked. They nailed it! The waffle, however, arrived a bit soggy, but that's to be expected with delivery. After five minutes in my air fryer, it crisped right back up. I imagine you could do the same in a toaster oven or under the broiler if needed. The mac and cheese was also delicious! Not quite on par with Grandma's homemade, but more like a solid "sissy mac" using Grandma's recipe--comforting and cheesy enough to hit the spot. The banana pudding was also REALLY good. It wasn't the best banana pudding I ever had, but it was certainly up there. Next time I'll be ordering a large for sure! Good place service is professional lots of choices. The chicken is delicious. The waffles are freshly made as you order. They come in a paper box with syrup. They also give you some kind of red sauce for the chicken I didn't explore. The chicken didn't need anything, in my opinion. Perfect as is. The downside is parking, only two spots, and on a busy road, it's hard to get in. Finding an alternative and walking a few feet for this chicken is my answer. The chicken was fried perfectly and was so juicy and moist. It had such good flavor and paired with the waffle was amazing. The waffle by itself was amazing and had actual flavor. We also got the fries which could have honestly been the star of the show by themselves. They were crunchy and flavored amazingly - especially when paired with the 5 brothers sauce. We were a little skeptical walking into this joint - unsure if the place would live up to the yelp-hype. I mean - how good can chicken and waffles really be? Well, let me tell you - it DOES live up. Obviously had to order their signature dish: the fried chicken batter was crispy, without any of the additional grease that often comes with fried foods. The chicken was moist and flavorful and each bite was absolutely delicious. This has to be the first item you try - and if you can only get one meal - get the fried chicken. But what surprised me even more were the waffles. I was expecting standard commercial waffle taste - you can see the lineup of waffle irons off to the side, so I thought the flavors would be typical as well. Not at all - the batter is a family recipe originated by the Dad of the "5 brothers". It was an absolutely delicious, fluffy waffle and I would come back just for this. I would pass on the potato wedges - but get the munchers (a fried cheese and jalapeno fritter). We loved this spot so much - we easily found ourselves back for brunch the next day. Apparently, they have a branch in DC as well - look forward to trying that too. Enjoyed the constant videos running on the monitors showing how they make several menu items. Only tip I would have for the owners: have a standup table or throw in a couple tables with chairs - that would make the place more welcoming and would allow out-of-towners like us to have a small spot to chow down, instead of eating in the car.
