Yuck yuck yuck yuck. This is not a place I want to go back to. We pulled into sonic.... sonic is supposed to be a car hop experience. Meaning, someone comes out to the car to take your order and bring your food. Well, they don't come to the car to order, each spot now has eliminated that aspect by installing a smaller sized drive thru menu on each of the parking spaces, you order and even pay for your food via credit card swiping there and someone brings out the food. It loses a lot of the experience that way. NOW ADD.... They didn't have a carhop that night so he had to either order your app or go through the drive-through. We didn't have the app didn't want it so we went through the drive-through I ordered a corndog and some kind of salted caramel croissant things that look like donut holes. I also order water: they ask what size, I say "I don't care. I'll be grateful for whatever water you give me." The girl goes well. We ask what size because we charge for water. Charge for water?!?! So I asked do you have bottled water? Yes. I'm like " I'll take that" I drive around auto get my order. I wait for my order.I wait some more. I am handed my order, and honest to God, the only thing that was good was that darn bottled water that I never intended on getting. The croissant bites were mushy inside They are covered in salted Carmel flavorored sugar... but there was nothing croissant like them. They did taste like salted caramel sugar on the outside, but the inside was mush- like complete mush. Gross, it hadn't even been cooked. But talking about being cooked.... now the corn dog seems like it had been cooked... Two hours ago and left on a counter then given to me. I mean they were not even remotely warm. I have never bitten into a corn dog that tasted like it had been sitting out for an hour. It was so disgusting. I couldn't eat it. I spit it out and it's in the bag stinking up my car. Not sure what the other menu items taste like, but if I were you, I would strongly avoid the croissant bites and the corn dog. Yuck yuck yuck yuck I give one star only because the guy at the window was pleasant and seemed like a nice guy. Greatest ever for shakes and soft drinks. Love the small ice pellets. Sodas have plenty of fizz and the shakes are thick and creamy. The fried food all tastes strange with a weird, sweet, old grease taste. The burgers do not have a quality taste. They are gristly and don't have much flavor, usually with messy toppings slopped on. Chicken bites are iffy with a lot of breading and mystery chicken inside. There is often a line and a long wait. I have experienced employees trying to speed up the process by delivering orders that are ready, directly to cars in line rather than waiting in the line to get to the windows. read more

This location has been terrible for years. The wait time is crazy on top of that the customer service is absolutely ridiculous. I've had a number of problems with this location getting orders right and have reached out to their corporate office and usually receive a good response back from them. Not the last time or two I reached out as they pretty much told me to go take a walk. Really have never had such a nasty rude response from a business like that. I will never be back to this sonic for sure let alone any other location. I look forward to the day this location closes to put something better in its spot. read more

Horrible customer awrvice got home today from apringfield to urbana and when we went to rat our food we order two large chili cheese tats one of the tats literally on my had half of the large tray filled with tats. Every order I get, is terrible. I just ordered French fried pickles, and they were all mushy. No crisp to them at all. The previous order, had no bananas, in the banana milkshake, and all my tater were mushy. I will never go back. read more

Once again here we are leaving a review a year later. Today we sat in line for 45 mins to order a route 44 sprite and a sweet peach tea.....45 minutes ‍ a month ago we tried getting some slushy's for the grandkids and once again, we sat there for 45 minutes. The month before that so two months ago sat in the drive-through another 45 minutes all to get the grandkids, some ice cream and guess what?!?! We get to the speaker and there is another note that the ice cream machine is broke AGAIN!!!! That night we were smart and went to Dairy Queen! Pulled up behind 4 cars and was thru the drive thru with our ice cream in less than 5 mins!!! The only reason I go to sonic is their sweet peach tea. Sonic needs to get some people that actually care about their job and they move a little faster!! Ordered delivery and ALL OF THE FOOD WAS INEDIBLE!!! Spent $30 plus tip to not even be able to eat! Popcorn chicken was so over cooked and had sat so long, it had turned into rocks; my dog sounded like he was eating kibble when I gave it to him. Cheese on the grilled cheese was fresh from a cooler, not cooked/melted at all. Got a total of 12 (!!!) French fries in our medium order, both drinks were flat (no carbonation), and tasted like syrup. read more

If your not white don't go assistant manager Rachael is a racist. I placed order in app trying coney because of a reward before pulling in lot. I pressed button requesting napkins and a spoon when they bring my order. I realized I forgot to request mustard packets. I pressed the button again and it took them a bit to respond and screen even said the person was on their way out with my order. Honestly I was there at least 10 minutes for a coney and it was only 3 cars in the drive thru and 1 at a stall when I arrived. When I received my order it had more mustard than chili or cheese which in hindsight leads me to believe that my order was made after my requests. I went ahead and tried it before pressing button and requesting a manager for a refund. They lady said she was Rachael the assistant manager who brought me my food. I said I want a refund because it's more mustard than anything. She said I had to go online there was nothing she could do. I said I don't understand but why not. She said because she didn't accept the payment. I asked if she wanted the food before I left because I've never done this. She said no. I immediately search app and at 3rd attempt saw the contact us. I immediately saw it wanted the store number so I pressed the button again and asked for the store # and a duplicate copy of receipt. A screen popped up saying I had one but I couldn't find it. Rachel responded, "you should know where you're at you're in Springfield." Excuse me I know exactly where I am which has nothing to do with a store number. She said I told you to use the app and you just keep harassing us. I said I am on the app which is why I requested the store number and duplicate receipt. Requesting everything you want and need beforehand to make it convenient is the opposite of harassing. You're rude as hell and shouldn't be any kind of manger let alone in customer service. She told me to leave the property before she called the police. A guy came out swinging the door open aggressively. He was the one at stall 3 I was at 1 so it was only 3 people ahead of me. I was writing my complaint that wanted something else from the receipt when I saw the # I wish I used to begin with. Following the call my dumb butt decided to pick over the coney since I was hungry and all my time was wasted. Why I ended up seeing an eyelash & a thin piece of blond hair or string or lint I don't know what it was. I spit out what was in my mouth. I didn't know the sonic fiasco could get any worse. I go mostly for drinks. I want a secret shop done to confirm any suspected racists. This was the same thing I requested after a previous incident at a different location. if I could provide one star I would. this store is full of people who have no idea what customer service is. Repeatedly and I mean Repeatedly this month alone I have pulled up to order dinner way before 10pm to be told they are closed. to the point I went the next day at the same time and was able to order. either a Manager isn't available at this store or they don't care enough to manage the store correctly.
