I visited here twice and so far had a consistent solid experience. Im not a burger conneiseur but Ive had some great burgers and Im surprised that this actually ranks high among them. Here you can order inside or outside in the self order stalls, or the drive thru lanes. I parked in the lot and ordered from the self order stalls where servers bring out your order right to your car. I had their quarter pound hamburger for $2.29, the sonic burger, the vanilla shake, fries, chili, and ice cream sandwhich to try it out. The burgers taste great and have pretty much the same flavor as Steak Shake so I'm feeling someone copied, and likely it was the latter! Everything else was great, the shake had a subtle sweetness and fries were very good. I didnt care much for the chili and the tiny size of the ice cream sandwich. So far the servers and clerks are always very nice, the food takes a little while to come out but its worth it for the good taste, good price, and good service. They won me over to being a Sonic advocate, this is one of my favorite fast food burger spots now, and a top choice in the Terre Haute area. I would give it 0 stars if possible. I order a route 44 sprite. I waited at the window for 15 minutes just to watch two employees talk the entire time and ignore me. They finished making the drink within maybe a minute, but then just talked the whole time. When I asked them why it took so long they replied "don't worry about it" Bunch of freaking weirdos. read more

ordered online and set to the wrong store. usually an easy fix. on the app it states to contact the store via phone. when I called, a gentleman who sounded very aggravated to even be on the phone, tells me to fix it on the app. less than 5 minutes later of being on the phone with him, my app updates to "completed". so not only did I not get my order at the correct store, I paid for someone there to probably eat my meal. had an app for ordering online couldnt use app so had a coupon thru app for a 99 cent corndog. Ordered thru drive thru told them i had a coupon and they told me that they dont accept orders online or thru the app!!! who dont do this this is the wave if the future every restaurant fast food or a nice sit down place uses the app to place orders! they do have a mobile pick place so why not use the app to place orders need to get onboard with new tech!! employees were plum rude!!! they didnt even have a clue how to use app!!! read more

BRAIN DEAD INDIVIDUALS WORKS HERE. i ordered chicken poppers with the special sauce... didn't get my sauce. i ordered the groovy fries THAT COME WITH the groovy sauce and i didn't get it. lastly i ordered my buffalo chicken poppers with ranch and guess what??? DIDNT GET IT. all my food was frozen cold and soggy. TERRIBLE. oh but let me go drive 20 minutes back to the store to get my sauce and nothing refunded. terrible management terrible staff. Easy in and out with a 5th wheel. We stopped for Route 44 cherry limeaides during happy hour 2-5pm 7 days a week! Service was fast, but it was also 3pm on a Monday afternoon. Can't beat the deal and location, just off the freeway. We left with two refreshing drinks for under $3. Give them a $5 and get a dollar back. $4 for two is still a good deal and gives the hop a tip. read more

A few years ago this place was just awful. After seeing an advertisement on tv, my kids really wanted to go back. We tried it again this year and it has definitely improved A LOT. The order stations/menus are new and improved. I love the new touch screens. We get our food almost immediately after it's ordered and the staff is friendly. I did notice it was a lot cleaner lately as well. We have been back probably 10+ times within this season and it does not have the same problems it used to have. It would be nice though, to have more trash cans near the areas where people park. read more

This place has more misses than hits. Our visit today was a complete joke. Whoever composed my order is a worthless employee. There was bbq sauce all over the bag, all over the wrapper itself, and all over my fries. This is ridiculous, it's even worse since you're eating in your own personal property. Get your stuff together sonic. My wife's food was put together fine even though it was wrong and the quality was okay. I will not be coming back here unless I have a need for sauce all over my cars interior. read more

Very disappointed this was our first time at a sonic. We ordered a Reese's peanut butter cup blast and a snickers blast. When they were delivered to the car we asked the server if the one without any obvious toppings was the peanut butter cup and were told it should be but she wasn't sure because she hasn't worked there very long and didn't know what the all looked like. Silly us we just assumed that they were mixed in, they were NOT. We did not realize this until we were back in our hotel room. read more

Horrible service. They managed to get my entire order wrong. I compromised and agreed to take some of the wrong items, but refused to take two extra random orders of fries. For example, i didn't order kids meals, but got them. The girl rudely handed me two dollars and the fries, even though i later figured out I had been mischarged for them on my receipt and they owed me another dollar. No big deal, but annoying and I'm not returning there again. The other two local sonics have went out of business, no surprise! I called customer service and they sent me a postcard for a free sandwich. Really that's it? You screwed up my entire order and I get a sandwich. No thanks! read more

I'm just confused. For decades now I have been eating Sonic across the USA. For decades I have always ordered the same thing...#1 with pickles and ketchup only ,mozzarella sticks with ranch/marinara, and a route 44 lemon berry slush. I'm a creature of habit and since childhood I get the same thing at every fast food restaurant. I was argued with at this sonic. I was told that, " the Sonic's around here are different and have their own rules." I was told that I HAD to get fries or tots and then could add mozzarella sticks. I was told that,not even, with an upcharge could I get mozzarella sticks with my combo. I find a few things very strange! 1. That Sonic in different areas have different rules 2. That I experienced such poor customer service at a sonic 3. That I can't order what I have been ordering FOR DECADES at this particular sonic. I'm not happy with my experience here. On top of the horrible customer service.... my food was cold and gross! read more

Our car hop Gage is the best I've ever seen. He's speedy on the skates and has great manners. Best Sonic I've been to in a while.

One star is all I can give. The service is ok. The food is awful. The Chicago dog can't be found in the bun. The chicken sandwich is almost as small. What in the world draws the people? I think people just get a drink there and buy food at Taco Bell or McDonalds. read more

This new Sonic opened this week on the east side of Terre Haute. Terre Haute is no stranger to Sonic as it had one in the past down South on 41. It closed for some reason and thus, the Haute was "Sonicless" for quite some time. This location is obviously still in it's infancy and is a big deal around here so the place is extremely busy to the point where they have to divert cars into the Wal-mart parking lot to wait for at least five to ten minutes before being redirected into the actual parkinglot depending on if you want drive-thru or to park in a stall. The wait overall is not really that bad considering it's a new and interesting place for the Hautians to go. The food is definitely classic Sonic taste and is good even for a freshly opened franchise where there is a higher chance of the new cooks burning the fries....not here. The car hops are zippy fast on their little roller skates and have the intellectual capacity to count out the correct change to you when you pay. (One of them is my cousin!). Everyone is quite cheerful and friendly and they act like it's not painful to be that way. I am adding only 4 stars because it's a franchise. read more

My kids and I love sonic. The food is terrific and it's very fast. The milkshakes are our favorite in town. It's always a good treat and it's great that the shakes are half off after 8. read more
