On Monday June 8th 2026 my Friend Miss Peggy had a drs appointment at Providence Medial with a New Cardiologist . I know she was apprehensive and anxious because she is 92 years old . But we had a good appointment and she loved her new dr . We always go out to eat afterwards and she chose Cracker Barrel . We were greeted and quickly seated . In Ashley's area . She was so kind and compassionate and understanding as my friend is hearing impaired . ( hearing aids ) Ashley's tone of voice and the level of speaking in her sweet Voice . Miss peggy was able to understand . Ashley did very well engaging in conversation . And after our meal was brought out to us we requested Blackberry Jelly with our Homemade Biscuits .. yummy !! What else can you say about Cracker Barrel aside from the fact that the food is consistently food old fashioned comfort food. A few months ago, my brother had my attention when he ordered turnip greens. I tried it myself when my wife and I went. They were very good. I believe they have beef blended in with the turnips? Grilled chicken is marinated for good flavor. I'm opting for less greasy items at Cracker Barrel. Otherwise, I get too full/bloated. We stopped at the Terre Haute Cracker Barrel while passing through on our trip, and it was a great choice. The atmosphere was cozy, the people were friendly, and our server Brooke was excellent. A couple of the items we ordered weren't available. I wanted the spicy chicken sausage, but Brooke let me know it was sold out, so I switched to the Impossible sausage, which was surprisingly delicious. My wife ordered the crispy chicken, but it turned out that it's only available after lunch, even though it was listed on the menu. She had to change her order as well. Even with those hiccups, Brooke handled everything perfectly. She delivered the bad news with a smile, offered helpful suggestions, and made sure our meals came out just right. The eggs were delicious, and when I asked for cheese, she took care of it right away without double charging us. Food and service at this store is dropping like a rock. Visited on Wednesday, Broccoli Chicken night. Arrived at 5:30, it wasn't busy, and were promptly told that they were out of the special. We waited for 15 minutes for a server. Ordered at 5:45. At 6:00, the server brought drinks and bread, but no plates. At 6:05 I asked for plates and when to expect our food. I was told "food should be out in a few minutes". We never got plates and never saw the server again. At 6:15 I asked for a manager. Never saw a manager so we left at 6:20, 35 minutes after ordering. The previous week we went in and waited 40 minutes for our food. It was chicken & rice and was so overcooked you couldn't eat it so we sent it back and waited another 10 minutes for edible food...50 minutes total. Never saw a manager then, either. read more

There is something wrong with Yelp, the order does not go through to Cracker Barrel, and then it takes several days to get your money back from Yelp. The only reason I rated this location as high as 2 stars was the food. At least it wasn't bad. This one was busy at 11:30am. No one came around pre-order with drink/coffee order first. Service was slow. By the time I had first server contact I was long ready to order. They were paying someone to walk around and ask if the food came out OK. That person needs to open their eyes. Came to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for late lunch early dinner and as with most locations the atmosphere is very welcoming and the store has plenty of items to choose from for whatever you may be looking for. The hostess seated us right away and our server was friendly. Our meals arrived fairly quickly and the servings were plentiful. The entree I ordered was delicious; however, the campfire meal that consisted of potatoes were undercooked. When asked about our meal I did let the waitress know to inform the cooks that the potatoes in my meal were not cooked enough. She did ask if I wanted them replaced or substituted; I informed her I did not...I just wanted to let the cook know. She was very polite and said she would let them know. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out, which is a long time for cracker barrel. They were not on a wait. Our eggs were overcooked and hard (ordered sunny side up). Bacon was hard. Grits were so watery, they were like cereal. Pancakes were overcooked, as I could not cut them with my fork. Service was bad. Only thing she did was take our food order and drop the check off. Charged us for an extra side of grits for some reason when it came with my meal, and tried to find her for 10 min at the end to have it corrected, yet she was MIA. We were sat instantly , but then waited around 15-20 minutes to be greeted by a server . then , once our order was taken it took another 15 mins to get drinks to our table .. of two. We had the worst wait staff experience. The waitress took 10 minutes to come to our table in a not very crowded restaurant. She acted like she would have liked to have been anywhere else other than there. Very grouchy and not the least bit friendly. She took my wife's order incorrectly and then when it was pointed out to her, she argued with my wife that it was my wife's fault (it was not). In a gruff manner she too the order back to the kitchen and brought out a replacement that still was lacking in all of the offerings. All this while my order turned cold and she never offered to replace it. The manager came to our table a short time later (we did not request her). I think other wait staff members told her there was an issue. She was helpful and offered to replace our dinners which we declined. She took care of our bill. It was strange that during this entire episode, before and after, the waitress never waited on any other table. I did not give one star because of the positive actions of the manger to try to rectify what had been a really poor experience. We walked in to the Terre Haute, Indiana Cracker Barrel around 7:30 pm on March 20, 2025. The Hostess was rude left and came back ten minutes later gave a lame excuse and lied to us. She refused to seat us at an open table we requested and acted like she was about 13. She then seated people right behind us in the table we requested. Her reason for not seating us was that there were no wait staff to wait on the table even though there was a table seated right beside the table we requested. we requested a table location to keep an eye on a car issue we were having. I am not sure what kind of people Cracker Barrel are hiring but they seem to lack humanity, display personality pathology, and seem a little Third Reich like. This is probably consistent with other complaints of nepotism, racism, agism, and good old southern fried prejudicial treatment. I highly recommend you avoid this Cracker Barrel until their employees learn some grace and manners and how to treat their elders. We left the store without eating or spending a dime there and all of my family will never eat at Cracker Barrel again. Join me in boycotting this sad and sorry place. This location needs a new chef. First time I have ever been to a location where when served the hashbrown casserole I had to question if I was given the right thing because it was dry and not creamy with the right color. Greens were cold and look like they were plated too soon because they were dry looking. Don't really fit Cracker Barrel's customer demographic. It's been several years since I've eaten at one. Ate here today and was impressed. Very busy Saturday lunch crowd. Quickly seated and served. As good as the service was, it's the menu that gets special recognition. My assumption is that their customer base is the meat and potatoes crowd. But, they offer about ten side options that are fruit or vegetable. That doesn't include potato/rice starch sides. And it doesn't include deep fried stuff. Actually, they hardly offer any of the deep fried garbage that's standard menu fare at a lot of their competitors. Plus, they have a healthy fixins menu that is actually pretty healthy. Remarkable. Actually, it's pretty amazing that a casual dining joint offers this much and that it's all pretty good. I had the vegetable platter with broccoli, rice pilaf and green beans, plus turkey noodle soup. Wife had the sunrise breakfast platter. All good. This is a very well run casual dining restaurant. This cracker barrel has a tremendous problem with thier food, from the temperature to the taste ww were traveling and ended up taking thr family to this location and two of us at the table sent our food back and at first we're told that they couldn't take it back, we could order something else but would have to pay for both I asked for a manager and they took care of it. Most of us ended up settling the meatloaf and it was good. I'm not sure if this is normal for this location but it sure left a bad taste in our mouth. read more

I can always count on the best lemonade ever (strawberry lemonade!!) and a delicious helping of chicken n'dumplins. Here, I tend to be a creature of habit. I get my chicken and dumplings with corn and broccoli. I usually get one piece of cornbread and one biscuit to take with me. The service was absolutely awful. Upon arrival everything started off great. Our server took our order and brought us our drinks. Our server disappeared for 30 minutes and never brought us more drinks or our food. We flagged down another server to see if we could get refills on our drinks. Approx 3 minutes later our server came out and said "I was making your food (with a snobby attitude)" and proceeded to slam each and every item down on the table. I took a bite of my food and it was cold. I proceeded to wait another 3 minutes and never seen our server again, no drink and no one to talk to about the service, so I walked out. I then proceeded to call the location and speak to a manager. She was not sincere and could of cared less.
