Oof I agree with the overall rating. We ordered some food from here tonight. 29 bucks and the burger made me feel sick and I'm pretty sure my kids would agree. We got mozzarella cheese sticks (not bad), pretzel (not good), burger (not good), fries (not good), chicken bites (greasy af), and a burger with Texas toast (not good). The food has always been piping hot and cooked fresh I've lately been craving white meat chicken tenders and after p giving sonics a try, I've found my absolute favorite tenders. The bbq sauce has the perfect amount of tang and spicy to it, and I appreciate this buissness for the quality of fresh food they've been so kind to provide every time I visit here. Employees were exceptionally knowledgeable of trending drink combinations and menu items making it easy to order. The inside and outside of this location is in serious need of a good update, it's seriously outdated and looks dingy but I will acknowledge that it did seem like there was at least some type of effort to clean it up which is appreciated. read more

9/19/24- This is for the Sonic Smasher Combo we ordered for delivery. I ordered unsweetened ice tea, but it had no flavor at all. It was ice water. This is the first time that I've had to give a 1 star rating for a Sonic Drink. Onion rings were over fried with almost a hard crunchy coating. Onions themselves tasted great. The meat patty's tasted like cheap dollartree meat. They had a weird taste like they'd been defrosted more than 24 hours from being cooked. When I went to open my burger, the excessive amount of grease that came out of the wrapper, dripped all over my black shirt and saturated the napkins and bag. Everytime I come here I order politely and very clearly. However, everytime, they continue to mess up my order. They are not even a busy spot but somehow my items are missing or completely not right. Unless you are ready to have them remake your order everytime or continuously ask for the item you purchased, stay away from this Sonic. Terrible attention to order detail. And I'm not even asking for crazy orders. Everytime I order a bacon burger, there's no bacon. Everytime I order sides of RANCH it's never in the bag and I have to remind them once they bring me my food and I've checked. Everytime I ask for large they make it medium size. Nathen that was working night shift drive thru had the worst customer service ever. He must really hate his job. When he first asked what we wanted to order only a few words came through the intercom and when we asked for him to repeat himself he said it slow as if he were talking to a toddler. Sonic Is so interesting! I have never seen an ordering system like what they have. Their system is great for social distancing. You just need to park to order from their screen and then someone will bring out your items to you--like curbside pickup. I was a little confused about payment but if the machine don't work, a staff worker will assist you when they bring out your items. When it comes to their Dr. Pepper with lime, I didn't really taste the lime. And, the Coconut Slush with Nerds don't taste anything like coconut. The nerds were fun at the beginning, but I would probably like the drink more without. The lime and nerds are add-ons so you can definitely purchase the drinks without. Overall, the drinks did what I wanted them to do which was to quench my thirst. read more

Those sonic drive in commercials always get me so I was happy to find a Sonic in Tracy! There's not any in the San Jose area where I live so a further drive out could satisfy my Sonic's craving. My boyfriend and I parked in one of their stalls and ordered off the menu. Once you are ready, you press their red button and place your order. Shortly after, a wonderful staff member brings out your food straight to your car. Sonic's is a simple fast food dining so don't expect anything too crazy. I loved their milkshakes though! I got an oreo cheesecake milkshake as a substitute for my drink. It was an extra $2.20 but saves you $5 by ordering it by itself for a large. It was smooth and thick and creamy! You also can't go wrong with the tots, corn dogs and all-american hot dogs here. read more

But the Nerds... no, they didn't just fall to the bottom and clump there--they actually stayed suspended enough such that each suck got a little bit of the candy along with the grape slush. I decided to surprise my husband with Sonic today. What a disappointment! We love the barbecue cheese steak sandwich and the barbecue chip tots. The sandwich had raw onions, full bacon strips when it's supposed to be cut up with the meat like how cheese steaks are supposed to be. But I guess not today. The tots had no sauce at all! I think there was a spot on the lid. Very disappointing, very expensive to get this kind of quality. Especially when my husband works way across town and it's not like I can go back and say hey dude you didn't cook this properly and serve it the way you guys show and describe it on your site! Came specifically for a "bacon jam burger" ordered went through the drive through and paid got our food drove away and opened the burgers to find NO BACON JAM .... they were bacon cheese burgers. Drove back and have now been sitting wait for a refund because they don't have bacon jam right now. So the rest of our food is sitting here getting cold while we wait for a refund. To top it all off when they came out to get the receipt to do the refund she took the burgers and said she had to have them just because and walked them to the trash. They forget things in the order every time, Ignore you after an issue and unless you get out of the car and somehow manage to do it every time. Ordered online for a 6:10pm pickup. Arrived just after 6. The "check in" button was not working on the app so I notified the staff of my arrival. They asked my name and said they would be out ASAP. 45 minutes later (they were busy and I was reading A book) my meal was still not out. I pushed the button again and was told my order had been picked up. I told them that obviously wasn't the case since I'm still sitting here with no food. I can not believe the huge difference between the Gilroy location and this one. Never have issues with the Gilroy one. We ordered: 1 hamburger, 1 large onion ring, 1 Dr pepper. 1 cheeseburger with spicy jalapenos, no pickles, 1 large onion ring, 1 Dr pepper. What we got: 2 cheeseburgers both with jalapenos and pickles, 1 large onion ring, 1 large onion ring bag - filled almost half way, 2 Dr peppers. Buns were soggy, and hamburgers were cold by the time we switched all the pickles and jalapenos. Also, the onion rings do not seem as large and sweet as the Gilroy one....I would have thought so sonics would be standard. No napkins - didn't know we needed to specify that we would like some... thought napkins were a given. Granted, we don't normally eat fast food, and yes I'm still completely full from lunch (it's 8:44pm), the taste wasn't bad, per say...but since we don't eat fast food very often.. We stopped here in the middle of a road trip yesterday. I needed to use the restroom while we waited for our food, so I went inside to ask if I could use the restroom. The girl in there was super rude and just kept telling me to leave. As I was leaving, I had to actually speak over her telling me to leave to ask her if there was a restroom I could use. She told me it was "out of service"... isn't it California law that a place of business HAS to provide its employees a restroom while on duty ?? so either she was lying to me and being rude about it, OR Sonic is in violation of California Law. The food here are good. Their customer service was great. Their order booths are so mess up that they can't here us. Two, my friend was ordering and the machine shut off on him so he had to reorder. Tree, the machine will stop blicking so we had to press it again to order. They brought out the food, but mess up the food with another order. At least they apologize and got the order right. Urgh. I really don't know why my Husband still insists on coming here, every time they manage to screw up his order. I mean really, How do you forget Bacon on a BACON Cheeseburger??! And the food isn't all hat great either. Granted I have only had 2 items here myself - The Grilled Chicken Sandwich and a Childs size Milkshake. The Shakes are good, yes but they're only really something I would have once a year at best. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich isn't worth the Calories either. Bland and boring. It literally is just an unseasoned Chicken Breast in a bun with a tiny amount of Lettuce, one sorry looking slice of Tomato and way too much Mayo. When I find myself in the area of the mall or Bestbuy, I usually stop in here and grab a Coney Dog with Tatter Tots and a drink. The only thing I don't understand about Sonic or maybe the people who do it. If you know how Sonic is set up, then you understand you pull your car into their lot. You push the button from their menu and someone comes out to your car, with your order in hand. You pay, then you eat. Or, you can pay and drive off. It's up to you. Here's one more option. You can park in the lot, get out and eat at one of their outdoor seating tables. So riddle me this; Why do they have or why do people use their drive-through window?? I haven't been here in awhile. I came here tonight at 9:10pm. The parking lot menus are now digital with monitors. Well after looking at the menu in a parking stall I decide to press the red button and place my order. I was told the parking lot is closed and only the drive thru is open. First complaint. Why can't they post a message on the digital monitors that the parking area is closed and only the drive thru is open? Second complaint. The screen you place your order on which is also the speaker phone to the cashier is in a very bad spot! It is mounted on a post about 5 feet away from the menu board. How can you see the menu when this screen is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the menu? Third complaint. The lady asks me for my order. I told her what I wanted which was $25 worth of items, then she says "I'm sorry, can you repeat the order again"? Obviously someone is not paying attention here!!! Fourth complaint. Fries were cold and not even full!! Before I drove off I asked the guy if Ranch dressing was in the bag. He said yes. I get home and guess what??? NO RANCH!!! Despite the new drive-in kiosks, service and friendliness has definitely gone down. After noticing that the price of my order was higher than I expected, I asked to look at the receipt before paying. I assumed that maybe they had raised the prices, but didn't update it on their menu board. However, this was not the case. I pointed out that they charged for me for a different combo than I ordered. Since I already had received my food (and began eating it), I asked if I would be able to pay for the correct price of my meal, since they admitted that the error was their fault. Their solution? They demanded for me to hand back my food and proceeded to throw it away in front of me, and told me I would need to re-order my meal, so they could charge me the correct price. Mind you, the price difference was a little under $2, and their logic didn't make sense. Instead of me keeping my correct order and adjusting the price, they wanted to throw away my food, have me place a new order, and wait another 15-20 mins for my same order to come out? No thanks. I'll be taking my service elsewhere. Their menu is overpriced anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if this location closed in the near future... It's time. read more

Been here before and usually fast service to take our order on the outside patio. This time it took them nearly 20 min and they took two car side orders that arrived after us. The same guy that finally took our order even came out once to deliver a car side order and never acknowledged us. 04-25-2018 @1516 hrs Drive thru carhop Seleca was having a hard time taking our order, had to repeat the combos 3 times and the drinks size and flavor 4 times. All three orders were for hotdog combos. 1 large Chicago dog combo, 1 large chili cheese dog combo, and 1 medium American dog combo. We received a grilled cheese medium combo instead of the large chili cheese combo. She even repeated it back at the speaker. When we got to the window, she asked what drinks did we order. Customer Experience = Terrible Customer Service = Terrible Ordering in the drive through and everything I said had to be repeated multiple times to the point I was having to yell. No one should have to yell a two drink order over and over when they are MAYBE 5 ft from their speaker. My car was off and it was silent outside. Get to the window and try tell them this is awful and should be fixed, only to get a mumbling excuse and a window shut. No I'm sorry, no we'll do something about it.
