I hate to do this, but I have finally had a negative experience at Texas Roadhouse. First off, we checked in online. When we were notified that we were "placed on deck" for one of the next open tables, we were told to wait 5-10 minutes in this super hot converted waiting area. We were already off to a rough start. Finally, we are seated and get our food. My wife had a baked potato that we had to return because of a huge black spot inside of it. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye and instead got a 16 oz sirloin. I was a few bites into the steak and super hungry so I didnt get a replacement steak. My daughter ordered a medium andi's steak. It was cooked medium well. Everything was a little bit off today. Lastly, it was so loud inside of the restaurant. I had to yell just so my wife could hear me on the other side of the table. I believe thats why our waitress got my order wrong... she couldnt hear me. When you spend $115 on 3 people you shouldn't have all of these issues. read more

It was really busy when we came, but overall still a good experience. This is one of my favorite spots, especially for the bread, it never misses. We started with the onion blossom, which was really good. I got the ribeye and fish with mashed potatoes and green beans, everything was delicious. My family ordered a bunch of stuff too, kids ribs and a couple steaks. The only thing was the steaks weren't cooked exactly how we asked, but it wasn't a huge issue. Service was still really good even with how busy it was. Everyone stayed attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Bathrooms were decent, nothing crazy. Stopped by for a belated Valentine's Day lunch the day after V-Day to avoid the crowds and long wait times. We joined the waitlist online, and when we arrived we were seated within 5 minutes! It was still super crowded though, and I overheard a server say the wait on Valentine's Day itself was 5 hours. So glad we decided to come the next day. My steak was cooked exactly as requested. Hubby's steak came out overcooked, but they promptly remade it for him. Also, they have Coke Zero, which was awesome because I love when a spot offers it. Overall we had a delicious Valentine's Day lunch. Our server was friendly, but she seemed pretty rushed and didn't check on us very often. The manager, however, was walking around making sure everyone had what they needed and even stopped by to chat with us. Walked with a party of 7 for my Father in laws bday. It was pretty busy but we got seated right away, our server Conner was fantastic! Greeted himself, got us our cocktails and water to start us off. We ordered both versions of the cactus blossom , 1 was classic and the other was a flaming hot which came with a queso dip(personally liked it better then the original) our entrees trickled out and food was fine but nothing to rave about. I usually get the bbq chicken & sirloin combo, but this time I tried something different and I shouldn't have... bbq chicken is always moist and I like to order extra bbq sauce on the side. Sirloin is good and cooked to your liking. Appetizer platter was very disappointing. Fried pickles were cool. Boneless wings were moist but not appetizing. Rattlesnakes bites I thought would be good but weren't; cheese was too clunky and not stringy. Country fried sirloin was veryyy salty; would not order again. Cup of chili is always my fav! This was my first time here. Our son took us here for his Daddy's early Father's Day celebration. Service was amazing. We felt very well taken care of. The energy here was so amazing and lively. If you have a little wait it's ok because it's worth it. The food was very good. It's a steak house so of course it's a little pricey but like I said worth it. The bread alone is worth the visit. This bread, oh man, the bread is so soft and pillowy. It has a slight sweetness on top and served with a cinnamon butter. I can't wait to go back just for the bread. The steaks were good, mashed potatoes were good. The fries were a little salty but that was my fault. I should have asked for lightly salted. The side Caesar salad was good. Everything was good. I haven't sat down to eat inside since I had a bad experience with a server for a while now but I love the food so much I just order for pick up online and at the window. I had a horrible experience at the Modesto location so I will not ever be going to that location ever again. Any time I'm in Tracy and Texas is open I will come by and get the bread. Tracy location is more generous and friendly at the order window so I want to share that they haven't lost me as a customer like Modesto did. They are still always busy and much more on the weekends. Even a weekday there are already people waiting for them to open. Parking is difficult for sure on the weekends so expect to wait or circle a few times during those days. Wait time on to go food sometimes takes a longer while on weekends too For a while (during the pandemic) the bread and butter had a different taste but I noticed it went back to tasting good again I would recommend everything on the menu but I usually get steak and salmon. I don't think there is a combo of my favs together but if there was I would definitely get it. The last time I ordered a meal was on a Thursday because i had an email reward type coupon for a free appetizer. Only one time that we tried to go here for dinner is during Father's Day and that was unexpected that the wait time for a table was over 3 hours! My first time at this location and it did not disappoint. Came on a Thursday night after a long day at Great Wolf. We came hungry and was sat immediately. The server seemed like a kid in high school however he was polite and attentive. Service was better than many more expensive restaurants that I have been too. We ordered the Catcus Blossom as a starter and it never disappoints. Bread arrived at the table when we sat and the waiters made sure we always had some which we really appreciated. I had the Chicken Critters & Ribs combo with chili and buttered corn. Hubs ordered the New York Strip with a Cesar salad and sweet potato. This was more than enough food to feed our family of three. We went here last night on a whim. The place is large and always seems to be pretty busy. I checked in using their Virtual Waitlist and when we arrived we were seated pretty quickly. This place is loud, so if you are expecting a quieter place you probably need to go someplace else. They can accommodate large groups and there were a ton of birthdays being celebrated last night. Anyway, our server (Angelica) was very quick and attentive and was always floating around her area ready to help and/or get something if you needed it. The food was made really well and the 2 meals we ordered were cooked to perfection. We both ordered the 6oz Sirloin and they were cooked like we requested. The meat was very tender and flavorful. I'd been craving the rolls from Texas Roadhouse for an eternity and spur of the moment, we decided to stop here for lunch on the way back from the SF Outlets. It was the Saturday before Christmas and I was surprised that we didn't have to wait long at all considering the place was pretty packed. It was as loud and raucous as I remembered but I was enjoying the vibe. It had been a very long time since my last visit and no more peanut shells on the floor but instead they provide you with a bag at each table and a bucket for shells. I'd rather have my own bag of peanuts honestly so I didn't mind this change. I was craving a steak and baked potato so that's exactly what I ordered with sauteed mushrooms on my steak and green salad on the side. My lunch dates tried the steak salad and the grilled pork chops. My steak was cooked perfectly, medium well (don't Judge me) and the potato came loaded just the way I like. Butter, bacon and cheese...delish! My son said his salad could have had more meat but it was otherwise good. My bf thoroughly enjoyed his pork chops and apple sauce and the rolls and cinnamon butter were perfection. I didn't know what to expect and it was beyond that. Exceptional service from the manager Patrick who checked in on my party since it was our first time. Jasmine, our waitress, explained the menu perfectly and made fantastic suggestions. Come hungry and you'll still get leftovers. Definitely get the sampler appetizers (I did that the second visit) and the loaded baked potato. The ribs are just right. PLUS the bread and butter is magical, they'll give you more to go. If you like margaritas in goblets, try them! The chili is also amazing - really makes a difference that things are fresh and made in house. I've been to Texas Roadhouse in Vegas but first time in Tracy. Went around 3pm and it was pretty busy, I think possibly due to it being Christmas Week. The hostess was super friendly and said it would be a few minute wait. We were seated in less than 10 minutes by Alicia who was also very friendly and welcoming. Our server Kristin was great- attentive and genuinely nice; she checked on us often. I decided to order from the Early Bird section since I've never been to a Texas Roadhouse before 5pm. I went with the Country Fried Sirloin Dinner. Kristin asked if I wanted the brown gravy or the white gravy. I couldn't decide, so she said we could do both. I ended up liking both of them! For the sides I got the mashed potatoes- delicious and my second side was fee chill, which I really liked. It's hearty and great topped with cheese and onions. It's a good size portion of food for $14.99. It's a typical Texas Roadhouse vibe, on the louder side- music vibrant bar area, singing of birthday celebrations, etc. Cool decor and I noticed the TV's show advertisements of local businesses. I didn't notice this at other locations so not sure if that was specific to Tracy. It was getting even busier when we left so I can imagine this place gets pretty packed during peak times. My family and I usually go once a week to Texas Roadhouse and mostttt of the time their filet is not cooked properly at least when I say medium well it was well done and too dry and if I said medium it was not really medium either. So basically if it's more rare I send it back if it's more dry and over cooked I deal with it and eat it anyway. Most of the time my husband and I have to send it back. Today we send it back because it was super raw and then they came back with mine that looked like the same just flipped. My husbands came back super over cooked but he ate it. I send mine back second time and they said they will make a new one for me. Oh and our side salad didn't even come before the food did. When they brought back my "new steak" she asked me to cut it and see if it was better and they saw it was totally raw again. At that point I told her you know what I don't even want another one. I was hungry and told her I didn't ask for fish at a steak house. Steak in a steakhouse should be the least item on the menu they can not cook. There are thermometer type of things you stick in the meat that tells you how the meat is cooked so anyyy non skilled person can make steaks. Besides the way it was cooked the quality of meat has also changed. When I cut through it it honestly looked like chewed meat. I think environment is fine and usually service too but today was a total disappointment. Only at the end a manager came or at least I believe she was a manager and just said don't worry I will take care of it and we were wondering what will you take care of? I didn't eat so you want to remove an item I did not have and make it seem like you did me a favor? She didn't even take off my husbands steak. I came here with a few of my friends on a Friday night and it was packed as it always is (this seems to be THE spot for dining out on Friday nights in Tracy). We came in on a Friday around 4:30 PM and after a 10 minute wait, we were able to be seated. We started off with their $5 Long Island Iced Teas which were really good! You couldn't taste the bitterness at all and it just tasted like lemonade but you could feel the alcohol working its magic inside your body LOL. The complimentary bread and butter were so delicious! My friends weren't exaggerating when they said they come for the sole purpose of eating the bread. I loved the sweet, cinnamon butter that it came with, making it so unique. - Cactus Blossom (4.5/5) - $10: The portion size is huge and makes it a perfect appetizer to share with friends. Super crispy and yummy. - 16 oz. Fort Worth Ribeye (4/5) - $34: The ribeye wasn't too bad but I've had better. We asked for it to be cooked medium, but it seemed closer to medium well - well done. We got this with a side of fries and chili. The fries were okay but the chili was really good! I think the stars of our dinner were the Long Islands and the bread + butter. Mother's Day dinner was a pure shit show with this place. We knew it'd be busy so we ordered "to go" from the app. First issue: the app does not take orders over $125. We're a big family so I ended up splitting it into 3 orders. Second issue: because I split the order, an item 3 members wanted kept going out of stock. The prime rib 16oz then the 14oz then the 12oz (only 2 of the 3 went thru on the order). Third issue: I went a few minutes just before the "scheduled" pickup time to pay the orders (app only took Apple Pay, giftcard, or pay at pickup). At this point I haven't gotten a call or text about my order. It's my turn up to the counter ("to go" pickup is outside) and ask about any possible available prime rib and she says they're out. I figure ok at least we got the 2 for the to-go order. I informed her that I have 3 to-go orders from the app. She goes to check on the orders and returns to inform me that they are COMPLETELY out of prime rib and had cancelled them from one of the orders. So basically 2 family members weren't getting dinner. ME being one of them. On mf MOTHER'S DAY! I kept my cool and proceeded to order dinner replacements. At this point we were 20min past the "scheduled" pickup time of 7:45pm and the orders still weren't ready. I asked the gal if I had ordered in the morning for pickup for dinner, would that have guaranteed the prime rib? She flat out said "Nope. We run out whenever we run out." Basically the app does not match up to their inventory and they don't hold anything for online/app orders. It's all first-come-first-served regardless of when you order. In other words the app is useless. Fourth issue: It seemed we had finally gotten the orders straight. All combined orders totaled over $300. I asked if I could get a discount since they cancelled part of my order without letting me know. They gave me my $12 appetizer free. I asked if I could get 10% off since the replacement dinners were more. About another $10 off. I thought whatever $22 off and still paid over $300 combined. Fifth issue: I asked how long for the order with the replacement steaks and she said should be quick about 20-30min. That seemed quick for how busy they were. So I waited. Not that I had a choice. 45 MINUTES LATER... Our food is finally ready and I'm still composed. I am at the counter and get the 3 huge bags. I start looking through them to try and make sure I have everything cause again it was multiple orders and I live 25-30min away. It was 9pm and so I'm trying to quickly go through the bags. Half the containers are soggy and cold. I think these might have been ready when I got there, but they're wanted me to wait until everything was ready. During the chaos the gal behind the counter asks me to move over cause they're backed up so she can help the next person. I tell her "I waited. They can wait." The lighting outside sucks. I can barely make out what's in each container. She again tells me to move to the side. I'm annoyed at this point and say "Ma'am I'll move when I'm ready." She calls over some shift mgr and tells her I won't move. That B of a mgr slams the window shut. At that point I was like F it. There's not enough room or light for me to check everything so I leave. Last issue: of course a bunch of sides are missing and some made incorrectly. By the time we tally up the damage the place was closed and no one is answering the phone. Cold, soggy food. Unhappy family. And a pissed off mom... on Mother's Day. I usually genuinely like Texas Roadhouse. Food is good. Service is ok, but yesterday they were crap through and through. But the last 3 visits our steaks weren't cooked correctly (that never happened for 12 years), order/food came out wrong, even their usually great service has changed (noticed major people turnover)....but the WORST BY FAR is seeing DOGS in the Restaurant laying there with the phony Service Sweater's on, while people are eating! So today, LAST STRAW FOR US, we get seated, and the table next to us there is a little 'lap-dog' sitting in the seat next to a lady...ON THE SEAT WHERE PEOPLE DINE. Employee's "say nothing " we order dinner, and the people with the DOG SITTING IN A SEAT AT THE TABLE get their dinner served, ask for a separate plate , and the lady starts cutting up pieces of her chicken and potatoes on the restaurants plate and the DOG STARTS EATING off the table in the TEXAS ROADHOUSE RESTAURANT.... We had such an amazing experience thanks to our waitress, Amayah! From the moment we were seated, she brought such a warm, positive energy to our table. She was incredibly attentive without being overbearing -- our drinks were always refilled, our food came out perfectly timed, and she checked in just the right amount to make sure everything was great. What really stood out was her genuine friendliness. You can tell she truly enjoys what she does. She made great menu recommendations and was super knowledgeable.
