Good food, but your service sucks! This Sonic can never get your order right. Who trains the workers? Who trains management?

This review isn't regarding the food, but the service. Well, lack there of. Myself, my husband, and my two kids came in just now to get a late bite to eat. We walked in-we wanted to sit at the tables outside-and two of the female workers came around from the back, one of them swearing quietly, but enough for me to hear it. Nothing terrible, but enough for me to be annoyed my kids were in ear shot to hear it. Both the female workers saw us and then walked in the back to never return. A male worker came out to deliver drinks to diners inside and then he disappeared. We stood there for 5 minutes and not a single person came out to even take our order, even after seeing us come in. We left and are now heading to the Latham store where we will hopefully actually be able to eat. Update: Went to Latham and at least got served. The guy behind the counter was very nice, but didn't seem to be able to handle taking orders. It was a painfully slow process. Got our food quite quickly after it was finally input, but I was really disappointed with the food. I honestly couldn't even eat mine. I ordered chicken tenders which are generally hard to mess up, but they were almost stale and soggy tasting and flavor was gross. The pretzel twist wasn't bad, but the cheese dip was about as artificial as you could get and I couldn't eat it. Kids burgers seemed good and they had no complaints. Pulled in and parked in car hop. Waited 20 minutes before parking and going inside for service. No employee present and a line of customers with a bell to ring for service. After 20 minutes of ringing bell and witnessing cars go through drive through an employee finally came out. 45 minute total wait for food from start to finish. $24 for the mess we received. Items in food boats put vertical in bag, making a total mess unpacking. The staff was rude and it certainly wasn't fast food. Save your time and money. Disappointed all around! read more

Good place for shakes and drinks. Food isn't bad if drive-in is your thing. I'm typically happy with Sonic, but this location is disappointing. Very, very slow service. I sat at the drive thru kiosk waiting to order for so long that my phone call to the manager was almost answered. Slowest service ever, waited nearly 30 mins at the stall to have no one answer us. So went inside to order and even then after ever single item they would ask is that all. They even messed up our orders. I would understand if they were busy, but there was no one at the drive thru, and besides my car; there were only 2 other cars. And they also ended up getting out of their cars to order inside. For us to wait an additional 20 mins for the food. Been to many other Sonics before but never had service been this slow. Do not live in Troy, passing through back to VT. We decided to stop at Sonic for a bite on our way home. Pulled into the carhop , decided what we wanted pressed red button. Gentleman came in speaking very fast and unintelligible. Excuse me my husband asked what was that? Only heard a portion of what was said again. We finally comprehended the carhop was closed. If we wanted to order we had to go through drive through or order inside. We opted for inside BIG MISTAKE!. No one at counter. Had to use restroom. It is locked and an employee has to unlock it. What the heck. If customers using the bathrooms is an issue maybe just maybe if this place had the front end staffed possibly be able the monitor the bathrooms. DUH! We then tried to order our food, the kid and I mean kid taking our order was talking so fast that both myself and husband had to ask him repeatedly what he said. I explained to him he was talking way to fast and that it was difficult to understand him. I think he took that as a challenge and spoke even faster. When I asked to speak with a manager , he asked why and then stated he was assistant manager and that he was very busy. Well let me tell you there was one other couple and 1 gentleman in the place. Not a good excuse. We waited at least 20 minutes for our food. It was definitely not fast. Food was mediocre. But the service was horrible. Me and a group of friends went today and they brought our food out pretty quick but forgot multiple things plus didn't give us a receipt. So we sat for 20 mins waiting for someone to pick up the intercom to get our items. They ignored us (after we tipped them already) then we ended up leaving without our items. Happened to catch an employee delivering food to another vehicle and he said he'd find out why our button to order didn't work. Came back a couple of minutes later and said his manager said the carhop was closed and we'd have to go through the drive-thru. We had waited about 20 minutes. Waited another 10 minutes at the drive-thru to order and when we placed our order for a couple of drinks and shakes we were informed their ice cream machine was down....seriously. I won't be coming back until they get their act together. It took over 20 minutes to get my order (a slush, large fry and 2 little griller things). The lady next to me had been waiting over 30 minutes and my order came out before hers. When I placed my order I asked if they had menus I could take with me. She said they'd run out at the counter but would go get me one before my order came out. After about 10 minutes she still hadn't gotten one so I asked one of the food runners for one. She said she didn't know where they kept them but the girl at the counter overheard me asking and said "I told you I'd get one". I love sonic for there ice cream Sunday and shakes! But unfortunately every time I order at the drive threw it's just ridiculous how long I wait for a shake or ice cream Sunday !!! First visit to this location when I got home my order was wrong. Called store spoke to Greg and he took care of my order for my next visit, was polite and professional when i called. I went back a few days later to have my replacement order Greg was not there but the manager who was had no problem finding Greg's note and was again polite and professional (I dont remember his name) I ordered again today Greg took my order he was again polite and professional my food was hot fresh and tasted great service was fast. Even though my first order was all messed up I still give 5 stars for the excellent service I have had in 3 seperate visits and the ease in getting the messed up order fixed. Tried to get ice cream on two different occasions weeks apart and both times they were out of ice cream. Both visits were at 9pm. Why even bother advertising half priced milkshakes after 8pm if you can even fill the demand? My guess is that they prematurely turn the machines off and just said they are out.
