Fast food is fast food if you like salt and fat, they've got it . Service was fine didn't go inside

HiWent to the drive-thru on my lunch I ordered a small tater tot and a 5 piece chicken tender. The lady at the window even asked if I wanted any sauce for my tater tots I said no. I got almost back to work and saw that I had somebody else's order. I drove back and went back to the drive-thru and had to wait. A guy came out the side door took my receipt and the food that was incorrect In came back with chicken tenders and french fries! He had to go back again to get my tater tots. He did apologize and I understand everybody makes mistakes but when I got to work and tasted of the tenders I was very disappointed. They're either overcooked or they need to change their oil in their fryer. They look absolutely nothing like the picture that they portray in their drive-thru. So I get there with the order still on my screen told them what happened they said they would adjust the price and take care of me. The guy comes out 2-3 times taking screen shots of my order asking the same questions again he said if u pull threw the drive threw we will take care of you there. Get to the drive threw still having issues they tell me to pull aside again we will take care of you finally the manager come out and said you can't pay with the gift card on line. i ordered a chicken sandwich and received a hard, old inedible piece of chicken. i politely asked for a remake, even tipped the carhop extra for the trouble. when i received the second sandwich, a cook thought it would be funny to wrap my sandwich in over nine pieces of tin foil. it took two minutes to fully open. attached below are pictures. and on top of that it was the same old, hard piece of chicken. probably the worst treatment i've ever gotten at a restaurant. When kitchen staff is treating customers food as a joke or a prank, it's hard to trust what they're doing to other peoples food behind the kitchen walls. overall a horrible experience. won't return after years of coming here and i recommend finding somewhere else to eat. read more

This is the only Sonic location in the Vancouver area, and I have to say I've never really been impressed with this place, one star all around if you asked me the last couple of years. But it did get a little bit of redemption with my last visit (after swearing I'd never go back). Previously, everything I ordered, or tried to order, they didn't have. This just resulted in me taking my business elsewhere; this all coming pre covid-19. Decided on Friday I would give it a try again. Personally I blame the commercials. Ordered the grilled cheese double burger, cheese fries and an Oreo cheese cake milkshake. Half expecting something in my order to be out of stock, I was pleasantly surprised the super professional stall attendant, Reiley (apologies if I spelled the name wrong), read back my entire order to me and instead of trying to hand me everything all at once, told me what she was going to hand to me in order and allowed me to situate it in my car before handing me the next item. Props to her for the professionalism. The food overall was pretty good, nothing too different from other burger chains, but it was pretty good nonetheless. I dont think I would order the cheese fries again. The cheese was basically a slice of melted American cheese that had already hardened by the time I went to eat it, and the fries were cold. The burger was hot and filling. I hardly got half way through the milkshake before tapping out, it was so rich. Overall, I am now neutral with Sonic. I wouldn't recommend it, but I also wouldn't advise against it and I likely wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. I'm sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but there isn't any "wow factor" to Sonic, it's just another burger chain in my book. read more

I hate being wrong. It makes me physically ill to be wrong and have to admit it. I was wrong. Ouch. In a previous review I lamented the demise of our local A&W and may have said something to the effect of there was a stinking Sonic thriving nearby. Ouch. My wonderful, lovely and oft times right Wife wanted to go to Sonic. Me, being a dutiful husband and Father said that we could try it. After all, maybe it was wrong of me to condemn Sonic without Yelping one. Ouch. After all I have not tried one for maybe 13 years or more. Although some of my experiences with the franchise in the past have been less than stellar. Me, Wife and Tax Deduction arrived at the Sonic for dinner this evening. We ordered a variety of things in order to try a little bit of everything. A single and a double cheeseburger, a Frito chili-cheese wrap, grilled cheese, fries and tater tots and some drinks. Everything was basically audible through the speaker and we waited for the food to come. But not long! Our order arrived lickety split, and it was correct! Ok, maybe that is a little impressive. Ouch. I can't believe it, but it was one of the better fast food burgers I have had in a long time. It was large, it was tasty and you could actually taste the cheese. By the way the Tax Deduction was ripping through the grilled cheese it too must have been pretty good. I managed a little taste of it before I lost a finger to the flailing teeth of doom, everything tastes better with danger added. Ouch. Other things that were really decent about this Sonic was that they have an impressive diet soda collection, not just diet cola, but they had diet Sprite, low cal lemonade, diet Dr Pepper and iced teas of varying flavors. One of my gripes about today food joints, chains mostly, is the lack of variety for us diet drinkers. Sonic seems to have this handled well. Ouch. Other good things I had to endure was the bathroom was very clean (Men's anyway), the servers were very nice and were nice to the Tax Deduction, there are a bunch of things left on the menu I want to try still and the prices are very very very reasonable. I specifically asked for no cheese on a bacon cheeseburger, and I still got cheese. It's even stated on the receipt. Since I was doing deck-work and had to handle chemicals, I went to the lavatory to sanitize my hands. They were low on soap, and the dryer wasn't working. No paper towels, so you have to touch the door handle (fortunately, I kept the door open with my foot). read more

Today was the second time in ten years. The first time was when they first opened. My meal was terrible and the line was long as they were new in town. My order was incorrect and I could not wait more than 30 minutes to have it corrected so I had to leave. Today I thought I'd give it another try. Very disappointed with food. The new chicken sandwich was smashed to a pancake, way to much dressing and chicken was cold and rubbery. Tot Frye's were cold and under-cooked. I like sonic. They generally try to keep their offerings interesting, unusual and away from the norm. I usually come here for hot dogs since there aren't many places that sell them. Not a big fan of the burgers. There are just so many better places for a burger (like Five Guys, 20 steps away). I really like the drive-in thing... It's an interesting bit of kitsch that you just don't get elsewhere and makes ordering really relaxing (you aren't in a rush to pick what you want because you press the button to order when you're ready -- and people aren't behind you, waiting in line). read more

Decided to give sonic a try during this Covid situation. I went there a few years ago and was not impressed. I have to say that this time is better. The food is actually tasty and the tater tots are great. I prefer the burger which you can get anyway with toppings of your choice and my wife loves their crispy chicken sandwich. I have never been many places that had a Sonic Drive-in. It is pretty cool to pull up and park and not get out of your car. You can order and pay right from the car. Their selection is huge and varied,, especially their drinks. I have tried a few different things off the menu and have like them all. The workers are very nice and prompt. I like the fact that we can push the button when we are ready to order and don't have to worry about the car behind us getting impatient. I did order the onion rings once and thought they were a little too bland for my taste and they tasted like they were dipped in sugar. I couldn't figure that one out. My husband loves them and his didn't taste like that.. but I just don't order them. I love their fries and the fry sauce. We go here when we want a good burger or foot long hot dog.. read more

Went there for my first time on Friday and it was a very horrible experience. They got the order wrong on one sandwich and the crispy chicken sandwich was super old tasting as if it was standing for hours the bread was literally like cardboard couldn't bite it. Not nearly as good as I was hoping. I prefer McDonald's. Though, Sonic has a larger variety of menu. I prefer being able to sit inside a restaurant. Not an option with Sonic. My car is too small. With 4 of us yesterday it was impractical to eat in either location. The Chili Cheese Coney Long Dog was icky. Too salty. Cheesy Tater Tots also not to my liking. I love driving out to eat here! It's about 25 minutes from my house, but it is totally worth it! Every time I come they are quick, service is great and the food is great! This time I could not find my wallet anywhere and the girl at the window was so sweet about it I should have got her name I was just in shock when she said we are all good. First time to Sonics ever! It was a great experience to be able to park your car and take the time to order from the vast array of fast food menu items. In the process you its mostly in car dining. You order the menu items through the speaker and can also pay with the credit card from the order box. Then they bring out the food directly to you! Never have to leave the car! How cool is that??? My food was def a little salty but it was worth the experience after seeing all of the commercials on TV!!! read more

The staff is mostly young and polite. Shakes are great and happy hour is a big bonus since I live nearby. The outside seating area is incredibly dirty. An employee came outside and wiped down a few tables. A good scrub down could help a lot. Ill stick to ordering from my car. read more

After being contacted by the Owner of the Vancouver location I found out that those little mini dogs were a special summer item, and that they come and go through the year. Sad me! But thats not the locations fault... thats on the shoulders of the Sonic HQ! We have been back to this location since then and it was just as expected. Service was friendly, and fairly quick. Parking lot always seems pretty clean and well lit. My kids enjoyed their selections, and their big shakes with candy in it! We will come back again when in the area, and in need of a Sonic fix! Ordered a bacon cheese burger on today with tots for me and a chicken strip meal with fries for my ten year old daughter. The for arrived and the first thing my daughter asked was if the fries were the medium they were very small and only half filled the container, I asked about this and they said it was the medium but they would switch them, they bright out a new container of fries which were still very small but she ate them anyway after salting them. She also mentioned the pieces of chicken were small as well (this was not a kids meal) I tipped my supposedly medium tots on to a napkin to eat them and was amazed that a medium is ten tots. I decided not too bother trying to get some more as they do not seen to change anything size wise even after complaining. I bit into the first tot and was sorely disappointed, soft on the outside even though they looked crisp and like tasteless mash on the inside. I moved onto the burger which was under seasoned, squishy and only slightly warm, by the time I got to the end of the burger it was cold. Very disappointed and we will not be returning, with so many good burger place in the area there is no reason to put up with this tasteless sludge. read more

Not what I had expected from Sonic. Fries tasted stale, had little flavor. The limeaid was great on the bright side. The cheeseburger was decent, but way overpriced. Overall I would not return to this Sonic. I was also surprised at the lack of service at this location. I ordered at the outside window kiosk and saw several guests have their orders cut off by a Sonic employee. The outside credit card reader did not work and there were no written or verbal communications that a Sonic employee would process at the table, what a great way to encourage ID theft risks. read more
