I used this place for a quick stopover in Reno. The sites are very nice, clean, and leveled. However, my only complaint is the tight space between the sites. There's no room to park or hang out at the picnic table without bumping into your neighbor on both sides. It seems like most full-timers live towards the back. The facilities are decent, including laundry, bathrooms, and showers. The dog park is a bit of a letdown. It's a sandbox and not very clean. I've seen dog owners not pick up after their dogs' poop. It's smells bad. Did I mention poor reception for ATT? I think this whole area. Overall, this place works for a quick stopover, but there are some issues that need to be addressed. read more

let me start by saying we have stayed there a couple of times. The first time was without issue. The second time we had asked for a pull through as we were going to be buying a 40 ft motorhome. They put us in a back in spot but Andrew said that he would move us. At the time we told Andrew that we may be leaving the spot empty because we were selling our fifth wheel and then going to pick up the motorhome. We also asked if we were able to extend our stay. Andrew told us he would "work on it" and that "it shouldn't be a problem" we even told him he could rent our empty spot if he needed to. The night before we left someone's music was blaring at 4 am in the morning so before we left the park I had asked the office staff if they had had any complaints or if anyone else heard it. There was a female employee in there that said she and he husband did. When we returned from picking up our motorhome we asked Andrew about our extension and he said "I looked through everything and I can't find a thing" We left for over a month and needed a place to stay for a week and Andrew refused us saying "you did nothing but complain about the park and how we run it" I was so confused. We had NEVER "complained about the park. He was completely rude! I asked him what complaints he was referencing and he couldn't come up with anything. The he said "see, you're being "confrontational now" I said asking you a question is being confrontational?" Then he said "I am done with you good luck out there" and hung up! I have never been treated so rudely. Which leads me to... He was never looking for us to extend our stay because he wanted us out of that park and he wasn't man enough to address the issues that he felt we had created face-to-face! So if you're going to stay there, make sure you don't complain about anything, (if asking about loud music at 4 am is complaining) You can see all the one star reviews about him. Save yourself the hassle! Andrew is doing that park a disservice! We are quiet and to ourselves! We have never had issues any other place and being full timers we are in a lot of different parks. read more

Site 101 while close to office, pool, dog park and garbage is also not good. People pull up in diesel trucks and leave them running right next to your site then slam lid. Garbage service comes as early as 6am waking us up. Park has fake grass that flakes off and gets on your clothes, shoes, dog etc. Sugar ants are present and infested our rv. Park said they would spray but we are camping and should know we have deal with things su h as that. Park never informed us they sprayed. We never got an option to stay in this site at all. Pool is nice but hours 12pm to 9pm. Reno is a 24 hour town and closing at 9pm is too early. Would be nice to have adult hour morning and evening read more

Definitely the best park in Reno, hope I never need to be in Reno again. Mediocre spots, fake grass, lumpy and weedy. Fairly priced. Staff that I interacted with were amazing. So... why 2 stars? Breed specific dog restrictions. I have a sweet older pit mix, not allowed. As it turns out... I'm glad she couldn't come. Pets only allowed to relive themselves in the dog run area. Stayed for two great nights. The check-in was super easy as they walk up to your window, you don't even have to get out of your rig, then they escort you to your space in a golf cart.. The park is very clean, the dog runs were maintained, watered and raked daily and the pool was spotless. Most of the staff was super friendly and kind. My one beef is that they blow each spot down after you leave and my sinuses didn't care for that after our neighbors left. I do appreciate the tidiness however and would stay here again. read more

I'll lead with the positive: The park is maintained to a very high standard. It's clean, well landscaped, quiet, and there are enough trees that shade is not unheard of. The location is pretty decent; lots of dining and shopping and gaming opportunities in the area. Very quiet for good sleep. But we may not come back. Why? The staff. Rude. Adversarial. Reluctant to admit or correct mistakes. First morning I was here there was a pounding on my door. Burly guy says, "You need to leave the park NOW! I've got no record of you being here!" I joked a little that this was a mistake; I was registered, paid, and had the receipts to prove it, but he barked back that I just needed to leave. NOW! He calls the office and sure enough, they'd messed up and had mis-filed his site tracking information. No apology, nothing. He just mumbled some words and got back on his golf cart. Next day I went to the office to extend my stay for one additional day. After much churn on the computer they had me extended but then I get a text message from my credit card company that I'd been charged double (two additional nights). Then I got an email saying my reservation was cancelled. I returned to the office and pointed out their errors. "We refunded you one night but It takes three days for it to show up on your card." Well, it's been three days and no refund has arrived so now I get to dispute the charge with my credit card company. What fun. UPDATE: After returning back to the office 10 days later, and re-explaining the over-billing issue, and bringing the credit card statement to show the error.... I was refunded the charge for the extra night. As I said; the park is very nice and well-kept. But the negative attitudes, rudeness, and incompetence I experienced will probably keep me away from this place down the road. read more

Stayed there for nine or 10 days after the second day I realize our RV was full of ants. They were in everything bathroom, trash kitchen, by the time I found out they were already in everything. When I got home had to fumigate my whole RV to get them out. I wish I would've been told they had a hand problem probably wouldn't stay there again. read more

Very clean park. Nice dog run area. Easy to get to from 80. I didn't use any of the amenities, but they looked nice.

This is our new favorite spot to take our motorhome and relax. The front office staff has always been helpful and attentive. The maintenance and grounds staff does a great job keeping this park beautiful to include cleaning up the dog runs. Too bad people don't pick up after their dogs especially when there are bags, rakes, hose and cans which to throw the dog waste. The pool is clean and there are grills and a kitchen for use. Laundry rooms are clean and everything works. I've seen reviews where people complain about all the rules , well unfortunately without rules the park would look run down because often times people are not considerate of others. I'm glad the staff take pride in this park and ensure that others do as well. read more

If I could give it less than 1 star I would . We were there for 5 months looking for a home and living in the RV . Therefore this was our home . The staff is rude and will not admit to any mistakes . Not to mention that a chunk is made up of people that live there and just "work" there to get a discount on their rent so people come and go. The core staff are unacceptably mean and don't want to take any responsibility for their own actions . The assistant manager , Andrew , appears to make up his own rules as he goes along . We were called and yelled at for unhooking the hard-pipe to the RV to leave for a week although we were told we could do it ourselves from another "staff" person . Not to mention they charge you a chunk of change for each time this is done . Another time , we were 200 miles away and called to alarm us that our water was leaking out of our RV all over the place . My husband went up in the middle of a weeknight to see what happened and there was no sign of water . It was bone dry. Our neighbors verified that they never saw water and were there all day along with their kids . It took 6 hours out of the night and $80 worth of gas to check out a false alarm . Oops , wrong RV ? Because of this , Andrew agreed that we could bring the RV back into the park after we went to Burning Man , although the owner is against anyone coming in from that particular event. We were instructed to wash it and wash the undercarriage and all should be ok. After the event we had it washed twice and drove in looking cleaner than when we even left . My husband parked the RV and the owner immediately drove up to our space and pounded on our door telling us to get out . He was yelling at us . We told him what Andrew had told us and he acted like he called him and Andrew denied telling us that . We were told to leave immediately or he was calling the cops . We had only 2 more days to stay until we left for good to move into our new home. I went into the office still trying to do the right thing and sign any paperwork for the abrupt departure and the owner came in and said " what are you still doing here ?" We had to find a place to stay for the night in Reno with the RV because we had to pick up our pets the next morning in Reno. When we checked in to another RV place we told them what happened but didn't name the place we were thrown out of. Funny enough they guessed and guessed it right . Their reputation speaks volumes in what a horrific experience you might expect . I'd rather sleep in a dumpster than go back there . read more

We stayed at the Sparks Marina RV campground for 4 days. Great experience. We were received by Larry, who did our check in as we sat in our RV. Larry then showed us to our spot. We were also able to fill up our propane here, which was a very easy process. Made use of the washers and dryers. Everything was clean, well labeled and easy to us. Lost a sock and found it in the lost and found box the ollowing day. SMRVP is a great place to stay. I highly recommend it. Park is clean and well kept. We traveled with our dog and there were various playgrounds for him to explore. He was able to be off-leash and run around. All in all, a great park. We will be back again. We stopped here for an overnight stay on our trip up to South Oregon from SoCal. We did a late check in (they provide instructions once the reservation is made). The park is close to a marina where I saw the morning after, boaters and jet skiers passing by. The views are pretty. The park itself offers storage of rvs in garages and a deck area to park your boats. And the local sheriffs had a station inside the park so I felt very safe. Lots of grassy and shaded areas to walk your pups. Benches are lined along to rest and sit and take in the views. Just outside the park is a big park for further exploration. Leveled concrete pads in a back in site that comes with a picnic bench. Only electric and water hook ups. They had a dump station for on your way out. Longer stays would be wise to invest in one of those portable dump tanks you can simply disconnect from your trailer and take to the dump station with your truck. Otherwise, you'd have to take your trailer every time and that'd be a hassle. Restrooms were clean, separated by gender and shared. read more

I'm not sure how this place has any bad reviews. It's a very nice upscale park centrally located to many stores and restaurants. Check in was simple and they escorted us to our spot. The park is clean and nothing looks out of place. You can only tell the permanent spots apart from non of you're really looking a certain details. There's no junk outside of any spots and the fake astro turf is a nice touch. Spots were big and came with a picnic table. The facilities are clean and they have a nice recreation room and pool. I will start by saying we have stayed here every year, sometimes serval times a year over the last 5-6 years. We have always enjoyed our stay until this year. We will never go back. As you can see by my photos of our rig and ourselves we are very patriotic to our country. The morning of July 4th while we were outside enjoying breakfast with our friends the owner of the park pulled up in his golf cart and asked if we were all together. We answered yes we were at which point he went ballistic, yelling at us how disgusting and disrespectful we were and we needed to take the flag down (not even at my site). My neighbors tried to explain that flying a flag upside down was stating Country in distress however the owner just yelled we were disgusting and we should not only get out shit and get out of his park but we should get out of this country. We tried to explain we love our country only to be cut off by his yelling at the top of his voice. We did tell him all he needed to do was come over as a reasonable adult and request we remove the flag which we would have done. He just kept yelling at us, told us to leave then hopped in his cart and left. Shortly thereafter a camper a row over came over to ask if everything was ok as they could not believe what they just witnessed. For older couples traveling, this campground offers a very quiet and clean environment. The amenities are passable, though the WiFi is practically non-functional, a fact disclosed only after payment. It's advisable to bring Starlink or similar for reliable connectivity. One standout staff member provided excellent service, but the rest seemed indifferent, reflecting an apparent lack of care from the owner. The numerous rules, such as no children in the hot tub, indicate it's not kid-friendly. This would be a hard pass for me on staying here if I was vacationing. I did the background check $30 for two and asked if we could get space for July and August. Again they did not care and acted like robots. I wrote a yelp review about what we were witnesses to Carol S. And her review. It was a 3 star review. And it was only about the manager/ owner? He was completely rude and nasty causing a scene across the park. He was completely unhinged and his behavior was aggressive. ( I put in my review how nice the park is and how we enjoy staying there) Fast forward 6 months later and we were trying to book a 3 night stay there to visit our law enforcement daughter. Our name had been flagged and we are not allowed to stay there now because of a 3 star review addressing his behavior! We have been banned! How ludicrous that he is such a little man that he can't have a conversation with anyone regarding his issues. And the only power he has is to ban someone. My advice is to grow up! See all your other reviews of your behavior on yelp. Do you ban everyone who disagrees with you?? I feel sorry for the people that work for you. They had to apologize for you. ( we had nothing to do with the fight you had with Carol and her family! But you manager/owner picked that fight and you were completely out of control) But we are good. Went to this place to have dinner with my parents and some rude man made me move my car from an empty space. I explained that I'm a disabled veteran and it's difficult to walk and that I would be leaving within the hour. The owner of this place is unhinged. He only wants straight white people to stay here. And, if you're straight and white, be wary of supporting a place that doesn't make FT RVers welcome. We've been doing this for nearly 2 years now and have never been treated like this before. The owner had no problem taking on our money on the way in to Burning Man -- we stayed for nearly two weeks -- but then on the other side, cursed us out with endless f-bombs and threatened to call the sheriff if we didn't leave (as if we would stay after being treated like this). As any FTer can attest, being without a site on a holiday weekend is a nightmare. We had to go park our rig on a random city street and beg our dog sitter to bring the dog to us. Then, without a place to stay, had to drive all day until we found availability. They could have easily asked us if we were returning from Burning Man and declined our booking. I support businesses being able to run as they wish! But why wouldn't they just tell us in advance. We had a booking prior, went away for a week and then came back. It's obvious -- or at least put a notice on their website online. Plus, this park is EXPENSIVE for what you get. We've stayed at Sun Outdoors for just $20 more a night and you get a full resort vibe. This dude has an inflated sense of self worth and thinks he is God. Well, sir, you most certainly are not. Because all of God's creatures deserve respect -- not just straight white ones. Other notes: says they're dog-friendly but don't you even think of your dog peeing outside the dog park. Staff is friendly but seems like PTSD from dealing with crazy owner. Location is great, with good coffee and a lovely walk right next door at the marina. This really could be one of our favorite parks in the country -- but now it is most definitely our least. Funny end to this saga. As we were about to leave, I mentioned that I should have listened to the many reviews of his aggressive and scary behavior. He flipped out even more than before, getting inches from my face. He said, "now you're f*ing never coming back!" LOL! Dude. Like we would ever come back to your precious little RV park. Avoid this place at all costs!!! Pulled into the park and there was spilled oil in many spots! Very dangerous. Not BBQ friendly. No one picks up after their dog poop. Counted 38 droppings in 1 day! I stepped in it before I knew how badly maintained the park is. The staff is so lazy and don't take their jobs seriously. They just sit in their golf carts and ignore you. The owner on the other hand seemed very honorable. Not sure why things are slipping out of control. They like to keep a torched RV on the lot for some reason. They put caution tape around it like that helps at all. Its kind of a scary place. Looks like it caught fire from all the oil leaks! See pictures attached. When in Reno/Sparks this is the place to stay! We have stayed at the GSR & Boomtown KOA and this by far is the cleanest, safest park. Not as much to do immediately but everything is a short drive. Beautiful Park right down by the Marina which has a wonderful walking path. Also the Legends Outlet Mall 1/4 mile away. Nice laundry facilities, restrooms, showers and dog parks. I only wish they didn't charge $7 dollars a night for our service dog. This is pretty darn high. No discount either for a weekly rate. We were put in back that borders a car wash and gas station. Very noisy. Try to avoid these spots. The noise never quits. read more

It would have been helpful to be told their rules regarding pets ahead of paying for the site!!! Had I known that we would be liable for $50 fine if our dog urinated outside the designated dog park l would have moved on to a more pet friendly RV park and not given SparksMarina RV Park our business. After a long day of driving, I want to relax and the worry of my pet peeing was preventing me from enjoying the park. I am fully capable of cleaning up any pet messes and believe that if my dog urinates while out for a walk to the pet area, then I should be given a chance to hose it down rather than pay $50 for clean up. Once a dog chooses to pee your screwed!! Further... I would suggest pointing the many security cameras at the dog park and fine those pet owners who don't clean up after their pets in the enclosed areas. That offence is worthy of a fine! read more

I don't know where to start.... It's not bad. Location is great. Walking distance from the marina, legends is nearby, the highway, etc. Clubhouse is clean with a kitchen, ping pong table, card table, and television. Small pool but clean. A little putting green.. The lots. All the same. I like the pull through option. But the lots are tiny and not only is the neighbors electrical box in your faux grass but their sewer line is placed right where you park your vehicle. So I had to step over their sewer every time we parked. Would be bad if someone ran a line over lol. Pricing So of course there are like zero options in the reno/sparks area so it's a little pricey, especially during an event. But what I can't get over is you have to pay $3 extra a day per CHILD. I get the $3 a day for a dog but my children? They have a pool, no other amenities for children. Between paying extra for my kids and the weird set up of the hook ups it wasn't my favorite but when there are minimal options I guess that's it read more

The park was clean & the gentleman who checked us in was friendly & the location is nice. However, the spaces were small & it felt more like a parking lot than a park. And allowing pets is definitely not the same thing as being pet friendly. The "dog runs" were terrible spots with not a bit of green & adding the threat of a $50 fine for a potential accident is a bit much. read more

Plus: Clean campground, clean bathrooms, mostly friendly staff Minus: Pretty much everything else. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our site by a staff member in a golf cart. Friendly guy. We got set up and the boys started playing catch, and we were promptly told there were no hard balls allowed (not in the rules provided, but we obliged). After a number of days with no problems, we were confronted on day 5 by the owner, whom many on here have already elaborated on his lack of professionalism. He warned us that there was a large group of 20 people with kids who had a party, so he was just going around to warn everyone with kids. When we told him about the fact that we had not used the baseball since day 1, he said it didn't matter and that we was close to just kicking us out. That they contemplated not even having the "baseball families" at the park at all. The irony in this is that our kids, and the 2 other families with us, had been in bed before 9:15 every night of our stay. Still, he persisted to warn us, which is out of line. "When you own an RV Park, you can make your own rules." The day before departure, one of the kids in our group was walking around with a bat and a staff member told him to put it away, afraid it would hit a rig. Unreal. After reading the previous reviews, I truly believe the reason the owner didn't get more aggressive with us is because he was trying to confront three grown men. The wifi sucked, the pet area sucked, there were no amenities whatsoever for kids, and I will happily take my business elsewhere when in Reno. read more

Loved it! I'd visited this place before, attending an RV event and staying in a nearby hotel. This trip, we stayed here in our RV. We were in site 250, a real nice 50 amp FHU pull-through site. All sites have artificial turf, paved roads and paved sites. So it looks really nice here. We used one of their dog runs. It was clean, there were benches in it. The dogs liked it. They have a nicely stocked store (food). The staff was friendly. We'd love to stay here again! read more

We had the best sleep in a long time here. Very well run spot! From the lady taking the rez to the best security guy ever named Bill who greeted us after hours to show us to our space. He gave us all the info we needed and pointed out their rather stern pet policy right away. I see alot of people complaining about the strict nature of the pet policy but here's my take on it. The folks that run this fine looking oasis in Sparks don't want your dog pissing on the artificial grass. That's all. It looks really good but the downside to the Astro turf is that it traps urine and smells really bad if pissed on. Period. Have some respect for their rules. They made 3, count em 3 dog runs. They even gave us a spot right near the front dog park since we had our boss with us. You see Buster our black Pom is the boss of us and he loves to whizz on almost everything. We just carried him into the dog run and he could whizz away! Love this place and I thought Bill the after hours security guard was the highlight of our time here. He even gave me advice about our destination Sturgis! read more

Park owners are anti military, veteran and family. Spent 2 days in this park and heard many stories of general harassment of RV space renters and experienced the most crazy abusive situation first hand. DO NOT STAY HERE! While in town for a softball tournament, a friend stopped by one of our RV sites. He is a disabled veteran and was asking where to park. He was at the site maybe 10 minutes and was verbally assaulted by the management and owners even after moving his car, without hesitation or complaint, to a guest space. Our team has several active military and veterans who were honorably discharged or retired. The park owners and their staff diminished and insulted their service all the while claiming to be a veteran friendly business. Additionally, 2 families with a total  6 children ranging from 2 to 14 were verbally assaulted as they tried to pack up their trailers. We were harassed, cursed at and belittled in front of our children. Even more appalling the owners called the the police asking them to impound our RVs and vehicles. It is still unclear to both the police and families involved what the real issue was as when we politely asked what the problem was we were met with with a barrage of insults, name calling and cursing.  A parking request should not result in harassment and threats of violence, nor should the police have to waste precious resources on something so petty that was resolved before they arrived. In the end the police stopped the owners and their staff from harassing us as we were able to finish packing up with their presence. Thank you Sparks PD! read more

They turn you away if you have a certain breed of dog. They are very rude and this isn't the first time I've encountered this

First, they have online reservations and it's a working system and easy to use. Their price was comparable to the Grand Sierra, which was my first choice (Grand Sierra tacks on a resort fee which drives up the price considerably.) The major difference was at the price point I wanted, SMRVP offered 50 amp connections, meaning I could run both air conditioners. They called me right after I reserved to ask a few questions. I suppose it's a bit annoying to answer basic questions which were already on the form, but a couple of the questions were pertinent and they answered some of mine. Upon arrival, several people were there to greet guests, and I had my paperwork done without even exiting my vehicle. One of the hosts then guided me to my space and helped me back in, and he was very good at doing so. The facilities are modern and top notch. The showers were immaculate and came with a shower caddy. The laundry is a bit pricey, but the machines are brand new and accept credit cards. read more

We recently stayed for 3 nights as the final stop on a cross-country adventure. 4 stars because the WiFi was not dependable for even limited use like email. Our phones (5G) had 3-4 bars, the park was maybe 1/3rd full, so I am guessing the ISP is to blame. But given the nightly rate, I expect solid WiFi. The park set up is what we call condo camping: close to the neighboring sites, small strip of green (astroturf, which is actually A-OK as it looks nice), a picnic table, and full hook ups. Yes, the many-mentioned issue of the neighboring rig sewer hook up on our little site is a bit hinky and stinky....it would be nice if they put up a faux shrub to at least try to disguise it. But, it is close to the freeways, shopping/provisioning options, Costco about 10 minutes away WITH diesel, etc. Spaces were easy to drive through and level. Space for the tow vehicle. Pool and spa were open and quite nice, albeit small. Nice laundry room, exercise room, and dog park. Registration was a breeze: met by a guy on a golf cart, checked in, and escorted to our space all in under 5 minutes. All in all, considering the dearth of options in the area, we will be back. read more
