The issue with Applebee's is a corporate mess. You cannot go online and see a normal restaurant…read moremenu with prices. You have to "order", select type of order, and then they have everything chunked into blocks so you could have had dinner elsewhere by the time you click on each type of meal and part of meal. No one wants to click and click and click. A total FAIL on website design. And when you call Applebee's "customer service," they say, we hear you loud and clear and thank you for your input. Clearly not.

Dear John (Yarmuth), Sonny Tillman would be extremely disappointed to know that you would allow his beloved company to franchise a restaurant to the owner in Inverness. The store is extremely filthy (a/c vents have 30 years of dust, ceiling tiles all stained and even the picture frames are ALL crocked). However, if the staff, food and service were par one could overlook the nasty atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is even worse. Terrible service, filthy salad bar, dirty aprons on wait staff, cold food, wrong order, no apologies, no effort to resolve concerns and clearly no leadership. My family and I have been loyal Sonny's customers since the early 80's but we will NEVER step foot in this Inverness restaurant again (and caution our friends to do the same). John...send a secret shopper to this restaurant and become ashamed for yourself. Sincerely, A Loyal Customer Jessica...although I appreciate your role as the corporate Social Media Customer Relations Officer I understand it's your responsibility to respond to all negative posts. However, if it's truly Sonny's sincere goal to make change as a result of this feedback I would encourage to to take proactive steps verses placing it back on the impacted client in asking them to contact your department. We enjoy their short-ribs full-rack plate; our favorite meal there. Last time we were there several weeks ago we both were bothered by the rhythm & blues that was simply too loud to enjoy, and could only converse with difficulty (we both hear very well). We asked our waitress to turn down the music, and were told I'd have to talk to the manager. I then asked for the manager who tried to tell me that they couldn't turn down the music because "the volume level is set by the headquarters." I don't know why this only has a 3 star rating average. The food is incredible!! Love, love the smoked turkey and pulled pork. The corn bread is to die for.....you can get it rather than traditional bread. All the sides are delicious. I've had just about everything on the menu.....no complaints! Inside is gorgeous with large wooden beams on a vaulted ceiling with the ever present huge moose head above the entrance way. We called ahead because we had a party of six. Their tables usual seat only four but they have extensions to add to the table to enlarge it. I was hesitant at first thinking the extension would be wobbly but in fact it attached to the table well and was extremely sturdy. We were greeted warmly by our waitress Diana who asked for our drinks order and appetizer. She interacted well with our young grandchildren who are shy and have difficulty in giving their order. Diana wisely made sure they had plastic cups with lids for their drinks which saved us from having embarrassing spills. Our appetizer that we ordered were their Rattlesnake Bites. They're fried round breaded balls made of Jack Cheese and chopped Jalapenos. Served with a Cajun Sauce for dipping. We were served a nice sized portion for sharing around our table in a paper lined basket. They were good but not as tasty as their Pickle Chips. They're still number one in my opinion. My entree was the 14 ounce Fort Worth Ribeye and I asked for it Medium Rare with fried onions on top. My steak was cooked perfectly and tender as can be. Fried onions enhanced my steak. Excellent flavor profile - just seasoned right. My two sides were a House salad and their Seasoned Rice. The house salad was portioned well. Made with fresh, crisp lettuce blend, cherry tomatoes, diced eggs, shredded cheddar cheese and crunchy croutons. I ordered it with an Italian vinaigrette which I loved. My seasoned rice was very good also. Firm rice cooked with a delicious seasoning mix and sprinkled with fried onion bits that made me happy that I ordered it instead of potatoes! We had a fantastic time celebrating my granddaughter's birthday with great food, great service and a special birthday song with a free dessert for the birthday girl. The rest of us skipped dessert because we were full and took home doggy bags and to go cups! We are so happy we finally have a Texas Roadhouse in our county now and we will definitely be repeat customers!
