    Grouper sandwich

Absolutely amazing place. The ambience alone will make it worthwhile. The salad was huge and fresh and the Grouper sandwich was excellent and large. Well worth a visit and you'll be back. Great service.

Salad was good Wife's main (hamburger) was not her sides were. Going to base this lowered score on nit being able to cook a basic burger and (drum roll) $4 tea (that is ridiculous). Ridiculous

This is in the square and they have several tables outside on the sidewalk. Inside is pretty large with lots of wall decor. Lunch menu is not huge, mostly seafood. Service was not great. I had the burger, which was supposed to be medium rare but was more like medium well and flavorless. Fries and slaw were good. I was not impressed with the food, service or prices. Coke products but no Coke Zero

Tasty fish and friendly service. I didn't care for the breading on my fish, but fish itself was good.

Melanie was EXCELLANT!!! Cute as a button and loved her accent. We were told to try the prime rib because it was delicious. Tilapia with sides of baked potato and side salad. The tilapia was dry and not real warm and veggies weren't great. The side salad was large and pretty good. The butter for potatoes came in hard packaged blocks that took forever to melt on the just warm potato. The ayce catfish was good #1 that ordered prime rib said it was very good. #2 that ordered prime rib said it was flavorless and she had had better but honestly she is VERY hard to please. The fried mushrooms as an appetizer was EXCEPTIONAL. The mozarell sticks were just ok nothing special. The parking here is not good at all and of course the one Friday night we decided to go there was a car show and we had to park far away from the place. It's downtown parking with no private lot. All things considered going for the great fried mushrooms is not worth it and the rest of the food was just ok.

    We just got done eating

Now when you get passed that, I loved this place. The colors, chill vibe, cool staff, toms of specials, this is an easy all the time spot to go to. I had trouble choosing what I wanted because everything sounded great and seeing the plates coming out of the kitchen I wanted all of it. Everything fried was good, the shrimp were fresh and the best of everything next to the calamari. The lobster roll was so chock full of lobster. Sometimes you have to look for it among the filling, but here it was flat out lobster, fresh, cooked to perfection, absolutely worth it. The lobster bisque was one of the top I've had. It was super filling, it could be a bit thinner considering it was a little on the thick side. It did have lobster pieces inside, and again, one of my top anywhere. Will give this another go one day!

Stepping down into dinning&Bar area but looking through the back Windows is an outdoor patio&yard area on beautiful Florida day for lunch who is sitting inside. not me! They told us to pick our seat outside since we were the first to arrive that day for lunch. Adorable space they created outside and even a deck and dock on the canal to choose to sit for lunch. Soft music playing and we had it all to ourselves for about 20 mins and then it filled up. The gentleman was happy, cheerful and kind. Great selection of seafood on the menu. We chose the redfish sandwich, slaw&fries. He did tell us everything is homemade even the sauces. The redfish was moist, flavorful with a good amount of fish, the redfish was not fishy at all. Very good. slaw was delicious little sweet had no carrots but that was ok did not miss them. Tartar&cocktail was fresh and you could taste that it was homemade. French fries looked like they just peeled the potatoes cut and lightly fried them perfectly. A little crunch on the outside and soft in the inside. The story of this little gem of place. old owners had it for 36yrs. Retired that in it self is a special thing. Then sold it to another guy who kept everything the same and restored the buildings and spruced up the place a bit along with getting a full liquor license. Don't fix a menu that is not broken just add to it. He will have it for another 36yrs. Glad the beat goes on and I got to experience a little of hometown Inverness. A Happy Place!

I started w/ a glass of sangria (Which was excellent!). I'd highly suggest trying the sangria! I also Ordered a bottle Pere' water. We were given a bread, which was ok...I asked for some oil & balsamic, or a pesto...it appeared I was an alien by the servers reaction "we got olive oil and butter". So I stepped that. We ordered our starters and knew our mains, the server said she delay putting in the ticket until we were close to finishing our apps, she did a great job, it was seamless! Apps were scalloped scallops and figs wrapped in bacon, then smoked or grilled. The figs were delicious, the scallops needed seasoning and was ok. Ok Ceaser, could have used a better dressing, more authentic style would be nice...but it was pretty bland, but good ingredients. I ordered the pork shop w/ gravy (ask for the gravy, You want the gravy). My wife wanted prime rib, but that was off the menu tonight. Instead a NY strip prepared basics the same... She wasn't impressed. I thought it was OK, I think she had her heart set on the prime rib. Upon finishing, the server came, cleared the table and offered a check and no mention of deserts This is an honest review, not 5* but a good meal!

Absolutely the most outstanding dining experience I've had in Citrus County (Crystal River area)…read moreFlorida, EVER. My parents bought property on the waterfront in Crystal River circa 1988, and I've been a frequent visitor until I relocated here full time in 2022. So I'm writing from the perspective of both tourist/visitor and resident. For tourists: Worth the drive from Crystal River to Lecanto. For residents: Worth taking a break from all of your "usual favorites." I'd call Katch-22 a "special occasion" dining experience that falls into the "expensive but 100% worth it" category. If I was loaded with cash, I'd come here on at least a weekly basis. Highlights? There are so many.... I was told that the establishment was newly renovated, and can verify that the "new" ambience is outstanding. Features intimate, low key, soft lighting throughout the restaurant at the dinner hour; great IMO for a special date/anniversary. I can echo other Yelp reviews I relied on, that the cocktail offerings are absolutely top notch. I'm no stranger to the Cosmopolitan (big fan of "Sex and the City), and the one I was served at Katch-22 was the best I've had (thus far) in this lifetime (I'm in my 50s). The wine list is well-thought-out to pair nicely with the menu, and the bartender was exceptionally well-informed to make suggestions. Other reviewers recommended the Espresso Martini as a dessert option, which I chose, and it was exceptionally well made. The food? WOW. I relocated to the Crystal River area from previously living Portland, Oregon and Boca Raton, Florida--both of which are nationally known "foodie" locales. I did not think I could ever find an equal to those metropolitan offerings in rural Florida (no offense intended to locals). The Katch-22 menu is creative and outstanding, with a unique spin on classic dishes. Katch-22 would rank in my lifetime Top 5 of *best food ever* establishments. I was texting photos of the dishes, as they came out, to my "Boca Princess" food snob friends, I was that impressed. After hearing about the special "light menu" starter items from my outstanding bartender/server--since I was dining alone and didn't want to take up a table at dinner hour--I ordered a bowl of "soup of the moment" lobster bisque, and a beet salad. That was all I intended to eat that evening. Is there such a thing as a "food-gasm" (ask Meg Ryan from "Sleepless in Seattle")?!? Best beet salad, EVER, served on a whipped goat cheese mousse. Because the "starters" were not enough to satisfy me that evening, I ordered the seared scallops with tomato risotto from the main menu. Wasn't sure how that would work out, because I was thinking that the acidity of the fresh tomatoes would be tough to integrate into a creamy risotto. Not something I would attempt as a home cook. Chef (and kitchen) pulled it off. I almost have no words. Beautiful presentation, and impeccably prepared in every imaginable way...I was closing my eyes to try to taste the "why" as to how these were the BEST seared scallops I'd ever tasted. Seriously. Definitely not a standard hot browned butter/oil & garlic prep. There's some magic in there that I can't explain, so just order it and enjoy! I'll be returning to try my second and third and fourth choices....
