I started a new job in 2017 and was looking for a mechanic in the neighborhood and found these guys. They never recommend unnecessary repairs or services, in fact regularly recommending alternative options to expensive repairs, in addition they inspect my vehicle regardless of the service requested, they've discovered little issues and big (oil leak). After my last visit I received a call from the owner (Mark) at the end of the workday, he explained that he had overcharged me and needed to rectify the issue (mind you, this was Friday evening at 5:30) insisting that he reimburse me immediately, he did not want me to wait through the weekend (we are not talking a lot of money here). No matter how hard I argued that I would happily wait till Monday and stop by their shop, he was adamant...he dropped off the check within the hour. read more

I tried to use these guys once a while . I remember we made an appointment for our family vehicle to be serviced, to drop it off first thing in the morning when they opened. At the time, I started work early in the morning and my wife needed to be at home with the children during the day. And they did not offer a shuttle service at this time, unsure if they do now. Showed up there before anybody else was there . And then I see a guy and a girl pull in and start opening the shop, so naturally, I walk inside the showroom a.k.a. lobby when the door is opened. Nobody made any effort to talk to me or ask me who I was.. I tried to spark up conversation with the guy who is tall and slender, but he was very grumpy and obviously not wanting to be at work, so he brushes me off to tell me he's trying to open up the shop and doesn't listen to me. Another customer comes in as well and they start talking with them no problem which put me off quite a bit, because we are on such a time crunch. Eventually standing there like an idiot, waiting for someone to except the keys to my car to perform the job that I had already scheduled and talked with them on the phone about getting treated like an inconvenience. I finally walked outside and told my wife let's just bail this place sucks. Because I keep getting mail coupons all the time which leads me to believe that's the only way they can get business , from new customers because reading the reviews. First of all, I called on a Monday and they were able to squeeze me in the next day which was amazing because of my hectic schedule with a toddler and work. I went in for some sort of leak on my Jeep Wrangler. It took them less than 10 minutes to diagnose the issue and give me an estimate. They said it could be done by the next day and without hesitation, Chaelo gave me his loaner car to use. I drove home and 6 hours later I got a call saying my car was done. The price was exactly what I was quoted. I am so impressed with the friendliness and speediness of this place. Plus they have the best dog, Bubba (Max), who my kid adored. They Squeezed me in when they were booked up because I had a broken engine mount and it made my muffler break. I took my car to Johnny Franklin's first because I assumed it was just the muffler and they told me that the engine mount(s) broke and the engine was moving up and down and caused the muffler to break. They fixed the muffler and said I needed to go to my mechanic as soon as possible to fix the engine mount(s) or the new muffler could break. I called and explained this to Complete Automotive and told him this was my only day off and I was worried about the new muffler... He told me to bring it in even though they were booked up and they would try to get to it, depending on how many mounts were broken, etc. It was already after 1pm when I dropped it off. He called me and let me know there was only one broken mount and that he ordered it and should be able to get it done today! It ended up costing way less than I expected and my car was done way before they closed. They don't try to charge for extra things and I have always been happy with my service and the cost of my repairs. I would definitely recommend them! Thanks again for saving the day! read more

This shop did an alignment on my Dodge challenger, or should i say " attempted" to! Because when i left my alignment was worse than when i brought it in! Mark the owner recommended i come back to have the tires rotated that it may help the problem. But was going to charge me to do this, Which I thought was crazy being I paid $160 for the alignment! Took my car to a different shop and had the tires rotated and balanced. Which didn't help anything at all! I ended up having to get a completely new alignment. Now my car drives straight as an arrow! I'm still angry over this since 12/23. I brought in my 2013 Ford with brake issues. I brought important info in with the car regarding special known issues with this yr/model from Ford. I heard "Hey! Do you want us to diagnose it and fix it or do you want to do it yourself. We luckily have Ford mechanic here that used to work at the dealer so we know what we are doing." I should have walked right then and there. Rude! I needed it fixed and I needed my car. They said we will ck it out and call you. They called about 1.5 hrs later and said the it was the master cylinder. .. $700.00! I said nope. It does not make any sense. (based on the issues) I said "are you sure?" Yep for sure was the response. I'm a former mechanic and have done all of my auto and motorcycle repairs my whole life but now at 65 I have physical issues. At end of the day, they called and said it was done but it was not fixed and said I need to go to Ford for a HCU for about $2,200! I went to pick up my car and they said it was now $850.00!!! I asked them to put the old one back in. They said they couldn't because they had to send in the old one as a core so as not to be charged more. I asked why $850? "We did more diagnosis after we realized it wasn't fixed. I argued and negociated. They took off the extra 150 as it was not part of the quote. They mis-diagnosed the issues in the first place and I was out $700.00! Im still pissed that I did not insist more. I argued for 45 min. They said, "Hey, you have a new master cylinder and the car is a bit older and you probably would need one soon anyway. Crooks! Terrible customer service. I know that you can't be perfect all the time. I get that. I've turned plenty of wrench. I felt that they shouldn't loose money on it but not make a profit to be fair. In my business we call that sharing the pain. They refused to give me my keys unless I paid. I checked it out witht the Auto Burea/Consumer affairs. There is no law about it. They said you need to work it out with them. They felt they should have only charged cost on the parts and what they had to pay their Ford guy for his time.. Probably about half. Fast Forward 2.5 years. Wifey also takes her vehicle to Mark. A couple months back, he had the opportunity to make a chunk of money off of my family. Long story short, he reminded my wife that she probably had a drive-train warranty from GMC, and that this would be covered under warranty. He actually said, "If you do it here, it's a big deal. Probably 5K ballpark. Make sure it's not still under warranty before you bring it in. It could save you a lot of cash." We checked. IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY! That was huge. There are a lot of shops that would have just given my wife a quote and made the money to be made from an unsuspecting female. This was chivalry. This was honorable. This is why I trust him. Next plan with my mechanic; my car guru; my Mustang guy: I plan on adding a cold air intake to my 2007 Mustang. Yes that's it on one of his Yelp pics. That was in 2015 I think. I needed an oil change and came across a coupon in my local business ads for this place. So i decided to give them a try. From the start, phoning in for my appointment, I was greeted with great customer service. Something that is unfortunately almost non existent these days. Upon arrival for my appointment I was met with the same great customer service. Plus a bonus treat for me, a shop dog who kept me company while I was waiting. This is a small independent shop who is really there to take care of their customers. They're not about upselling you or charging you for things you don't need. As a woman it's hard to find shops that you can trust, let alone enjoy patronizing. So I was delighted to find these guys. I went in for an oil change and I received an oil change. None of this, "oh by the way you need" or "you should really consider" I usually experience. They were helpful and answered any questions I had. The timing was as to be expected, ready on time for my scheduled service as well as the typical service time. We had the best experience with Complete Automotive! Mark and his team are professional, courteous, and efficient. Although I knew of Mark personally, what really made us want to use his shop was the glowing reports my dad and brother have had when they have worked with him in the past. My dad and brother are usually fairly critical of people in this industry, and often do many of their own auto repairs at home. So to hear them wholeheartedly endorse Complete Automotive was both a surprise and a relief. Our 15 year old car broke down over the weekend, so we had it towed to Complete Automotive. It was after hours, so Mark made it easy and convenient for us by allowing our tow truck driver to drop the keys in the mail slot. On Monday Mark reported his findings to us us, and Tuesday our little car was ready for pickup. Price was reasonable, and a little lower than we expected! Mark clearly loves what he does, and it shows in his work. The office at his shop is by far the cleanest/most comfortable I have EVER seen. Very unhappy with the shop. Took my Lexus in for a valve adjustment in July 2020. Got a call after the top end had been accessed that they were unable to do the job as it were bucket and shim. It seems they took the job without this knowledge about the engine. Go to retrieve the car and it is misfiring like crazy with the check engine light illuminated. Return it to the shop for them to repair this issue they caused, they have it for 4 days and are unable to fix it. I was however billed for a valve cover gasket replacement, spark plugs, and engine cleaning. About 1200 bucks. The car will have misfires still. Never had it before, I believe that the spark plug coils were incorrectly put back together causing the misfire. They denied all of it saying the vehicle had issues before I brought it in. I recently had my truck worked on here. A few days later, I noticed that my air cleaner lid, a large round metal disk, had been smashed flat on one side, and the air filter was also crushed on one side. Someone there had let the rack down on it, or drove over it after they had removed it to change a few hoses. When I called, the person that answered the phone flat out denied any responsibility without even checking with the tech if there had been a mistake. And I know for a fact that they did it, as I also work in automotive, and do almost of my work myself, but I couldn't drive it that far due to the fuel leak. By far the best automotive shop in the area. There are many shops near my house but I drive from Santa Rosa to come here. They won't try to rip you off like other places do. My car was having issues and they did everything they could do to fix the problem. The interior design is cool and they have a huge screen tv you can watch Netflix on. I have been coming to Complete Automotive since I purchased my Subaru this past May. I have had extensive work done on it here and Mark the whole time has been extremely friendly and helpful. Because of my line of work I drive my personal on the upwards of 600 miles daily. So it is pivotal that my vehicle is operating past expectations. Mark has always been straight forward with the issues and has always worked with my budget at the time. I have had him do everything between replacing my head gasket to a simple high mileage oil change. After major repairs Mark will give me a call to check to see how the car is running. I would even go as far as saying my father is envious of finding such an exceptional mechanic. Which in southern California are few and far between. The guy on the phone Mark who I talked to was a COMPLETE JERK. He was RUDE and I have never been treated that bad before as a possible customer. I had asked him for a quote when I call on a few major things that I knew were exactly wrong with my car, and he started getting short with me by interrupting me and wanting to get off the phone for some reason. I said could he wrote these things that I wanted a quote on down and email a quote to me? A Simple request, we all have computers... He said, "we don't email quotes." I said to Mark how I didn't want to tow my car all the way over to him and have him change his prices on me. I said I can't get ANYTHING in writing? He said NO very rudely and I said I can't believe how rude and unwilling to help out a possible new customer he was being and his reaction was to careless and slam the phone down to hang up. I would never imagine doing business with someone who treated me that badly before I even did business with them, let alone during the process of having my car fixed by him. I told them EXACTLY what was wrong with my car and asked for an estimate on it. I wasn't going to have my car towed to every single auto repair shop just to get an estimate. They need to get with MODERN TIMES and get a computer with Email or Fax machine...its 2017. Hands down 5 stars....just another day driving when the battery light turns on, car starts jolting and eventually shuts down. Called AAA who advised it's the alternator. Mind you it's already 3pm..most shops close at 5..it's a holiday week and we're over 50 miles away from our final destination. We called 3 shops that told us to come back tomorrow. Had our fingers crossed and gave complete automotive a call. We spoke to Chaelo and right off the bat, all good vibes. He assured us he can get our part sent over in 10-15 mins IF! We can make it to them. We had a portable battery pack attached to our battery (not recommended) and limped our way over..got in at 3:45 and left at 4:40. WOW! It's not about how long it took because I would have sat there all day. It was about the customer service. No one wants to be stranded in the middle of a trip (ya, I'm exaggerating..lol) but! Chaelo knew it and he understood. When we got there we were seen immediately. He walked to our car with urgency, took down our info and we left it all in their hands. It felt good, a relief. I started taking my 2003 Tacoma 4x4 (225k now) to Mark about two years ago. I was referred to him for an alignment and general maintenance. I left a five star review then and am doing it again now because his shop never fails. The prices are great, especially considering what some lesser shops and dealers charge. The level of expertise and knowledge this man has about cars is priceless! People constantly underrate the level of knowledge and skill mechanics need to acquire to be good at what they do! His shop is the cleanest I've ever seen and he is meticulous about the work he and his crew does on my beloved truck. Every time I get my truck back it sounds better and happier than ever before! While the customer service was good. No one was rude at any time to me. The selling point of being cheaper than the dealership was not true. I was charged twice as much ($600 and change for a $300 and change service. Yes, ouch.) for the service they did here over what the dealership charged. My two cents: As a car owner, do your research beforehand and do not take, at least this mechanic, at their word.
